Thanks Pebble Beach. It took me a while, but I finally acquired a Bach 36 for my needs, and in my opinion, may sound better than this one. Am I currently in the same shape as I was then? Probably not, but still a great horn🎶
Hmm maybe, but the impression I get is that the slide is small bore (.525 in this case) and the bell section is medium size (8-inch bell rather than 7.5 (small bore) or 9+ (large bore)). Some say it's a small big horn, but my horn (not this one in this video) plays quite bright, so it's more like a big small horn to me.
I'm glad to know one can play jazz on this trombone , I like the round full sound sounds awesome for ballads , do you think 899 euro (1024 US dollars) without mouthpiece is a fair price ? thanks
It depends on what type of 36 (B, BO, etc), the condition, year, slide-type (lightweight slide worth more), etc. I got mine for a really great price, 832 euros
Sounds like we both enjoy the darker sound for jazz 😎 At this point, the main thing for me is projection. I think if the bell was 7 1/2 rather than 8 inches, it would have the perfect projection, IMO. It’s great just the way it is though, no complaints 🎶
Good job!
Old post from you but still hope you have that horn it fits you perfect….it sounds so responsive and effortless in your hands 👍

If I remember correctly the Model 36/36b is a large bore with a small bore mouthpiece shank?

I think this is a medium bore

Nice playing. I prefer medium bore for jazz as small bore I find too bright and large bore is too dark

What mouthpiece you use?
In this video it's a monette mouthpiece that is similar to a Bach 6G, though I play a Bach 6 1/2 at the moment
