The animal world needs people like the Wildlife SOS team. Nina's story, and the stories of all your other elephants, is heartbreaking to say the least. But I envy your team for experiencing the healing of a sick and almost destroyed elephant as it must be one of the most satisfying and cheerful feelings in the world. To know it was YOUR touch, YOUR care, YOUR feeding, YOUR giving of freedom that breathed new life into an abused body that has no voice for us to understand is a kind of job fulfilment that is second to none. You guys are so lucky and so are your elephants. Love you all!
So happy to see her being relieved from the slavery. Indian rules should be more strict and wild elephants should never be allowed to be captured and then forced to work.

Thank you, Suzanne. We thought it was important for people to see this. Behind all the colorful decorations is a poor abused elephant like Nina. She's in good hands now.
I was so heartbroken and furious at the same time while watching this video. Nina’s story deeply tugged at my heartstrings; at the same time my blood was boiling at the extremely horrible cruelty done by those people to Nina, and most probably to other elephants as well. I couldn’t thank you enough for ending Nina’s seriously tormented life and giving her the life she deserves.
I share your feelings. I will NEVER accept nor forgive people who inflict such horrors on these beautiful sweet animals, any animal. It's totally unforgivable!!! 😡😡😡😭🙏❤️🐘
Thank you so much to Wildlife SOS for giving Nina, and others, the care, love and freedom that they deserve. 💕👏 I'm always happy to be a supporter of this wonderful organisation. Penny from Christchurch. 🇬🇧
Thank you for this really important video. What baffles me is how people can be so blind to the suffering and how emaciated and pained these animals are. Who could clamber aboard an animal so hopeless and often struggling creature and think: 'here's a fun leisure activity?' I hope your education makes an impact because that's what's needed - rescuing those in need is a never ending job!
These elephant owners are good at hiding the truth behind colorful decorations, and people are awestruck at seeing an elephant up close. It's a deadly mix for elephants
I agree!! It's abhorrent & beggars belief?! They are clearly in pain & discomfort, yet both owners & tourists continue to exploit & inflict horrific pain. It's a combination of ignorance & selfishness at the highest level. The laws in India need to be enforced to severely punish those who have wronged these poor animals & to abolish this horrific practise once & for all! I fear I'll be long dead before there's even a hint of this happening 😡😭🙏❤️🐘
Thank God for Wildlife SOS. It's so heartbreaking to know that this horrible abuse continues to go on. I'm so happy more and more elephants are being rescued and being allowed to live in peace and safety. 🐘 ❤
Commendable work by u ppl. There is really an urgent need for the law to be reformed for the protection of life of all those elephants who are in trap. Wildlife sos can't we take these cases of how these beautiful souls are inhumanely treated to the Supreme Court in front of CJI recently seeing him and the way he's handling bench is commendable I'm hopeful that if the cases like this ( Moti, Nina, Lakshmi n all others) are brought in light in front of him he will surely do something and will do some amendments to the law.
You know, it's a little strange in a country that is vastly Hindu, and are mostly vegetarian, that the horrific treatment of these elephants is common place. SIX DECADES this animal suffered!!! I have arthritis just standing on my feet for 25 years at my job, and I'm not a 6 ton elephant!!! I really do love and respect Wildlife SOS, I have seen every episode on animal planet, and I don't think there was an episode that didn't make me cry really hard!!! I hope India starts passing, and enforcing some laws that'll put an end to this awful torture, of these very intelligent, and empathetic creatures.
Every culture has a big blind spot when it comes to caring for animals. Whether is tourist rides, or in a wedding ceremony like Nina, people are dazzled and blinded by a wondrous elephant in colorful decorations. They don't see the suffering. That's why this film is so important to us.
Cant watch this without tears😢😢😢 how this poor thing was tortured for a life time by heartless. ❤❤❤❤ she could find some happiness for final 1 year because of these people❤❤ thank you Never ride in elephants or entertain these cruel morons. Wish all animals have a peaceful life
I just read a response from Wildlife SOS to someone's question about how Nina became blind....they suspect her eyes were INTENTIONALLY PUNCTURED by a bullhook or similar to make her compliant. That is utterly despicable!!!! 😡 India needs to get out of the friggin dark ages & get real - whether it be for cultural, financial or any other reason, it is completely unacceptable to own or use elephants, period. People who still do, treat them with the utmost disrespect & cruelty, leaving them completely broken physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually - its sickening & beggars belief. They're full of hypocrisy claiming elephants as a national treasure yet they ALLOW people to steal them from their mothers & their families & subject them to a lifetime (multiple decades) of unthinkable torture. Seriously, WTH????? 😡 Thank you Wildlife SOS for advocating for elephants & being their voice.
Sadly, India is far from unique when it comes to horrible abuse of animals. Elephants are simply a very visible symbol of the cruelty. India has some of the best wildlife protection laws in the world, but enforcement is a challenge. That's why we're bringing this film to light ... these illegal elephant owners operate in the shadows, outside the law. This film is to help educate.
@Wildlife SOS thanks for your response. Yes, ENFORCEMENT is key. We need to not only educate the general public, but government & officials too, it seems?! And what do you mean by "illegal elephant owners"? Do you mean to say there are "legal" elephant owners as well??
On top of being blind and living in a chaotic city, imagine if your owner, the very person who is supposed to protect you, love you and take care of you, deliberately blinds you so that they can make more money from you!!!
How on earth can anyone be this cruel?!?! Absolutely heartbreaking to think of all the mistreated animals all over the world 😢. ❤️🐘❤️

Such a moving story. I,.like many others here, have been following Nina's journey from the time of her rescue until now. Thanks so much to you guys.
Rest in peace Nina. You are now with your friend Asha. I worried for Nina after Asha passed. I think Nina died of a broken heart, missing Asha. 😞
Thank you so much to Wildlife SOS for giving Nina, and others, the care, love and freedom that they deserve. 💕👏
I'm always happy to be a supporter of this wonderful organisation.

Thank you for this really important video. What baffles me is how people can be so blind to the suffering and how emaciated and pained these animals are. Who could clamber aboard an animal so hopeless and often struggling creature and think: 'here's a fun leisure activity?'
I hope your education makes an impact because that's what's needed - rescuing those in need is a never ending job!
I'm proud to contribute to the organisation, I just wish it was not necessay
@@Go-tee71 It's so depressing isn't it? So many people want this to stop, but we appear powerless against such entrenched cruelty
Please save all beautiful animals 🙏 😢 life's matters God bless you all ❤️ angels ❤️ 😇 😊
Gracias por amarlos y cuidarlos
You guys are doing a great job! thank you so much SOS.
Thank you for your work and god bless u .i cannot watch this video it is too painful.
And the inhumanity of fellow indians is numbing to say the least
Poor darling Nina,I remember when she was first rescued, such neglect.Thank you so so much for everything you do.
Cant watch this without tears😢😢😢 how this poor thing was tortured for a life time by heartless. ❤❤❤❤ she could find some happiness for final 1 year because of these people❤❤ thank you
Never ride in elephants or entertain these cruel morons. Wish all animals have a peaceful life
Thanks!
Thank you, Bill!

Thank you Wildlife SOS for advocating for elephants & being their voice.
Adorabile Nina ❤
Thank you for all you do I'm very happy to be a monthly contributor 😊
Now she is happy
Why can't they do a campaign to make begging elephants illegal? God has a place for those who harm his special creatures ❤🙏
All I can give right now is reiki healing energy to her. I wish to be rich so I can give more support.
