En septembre 2009, l'armée romaine était présente à la Citadelle de Namur: plus de 165 soldats, presque deux centuries, 10 pièces d'artillerie, 9 gladiateurs, 3 cavaliers...
La région wallonne (Service public de Wallonbie, Direction de l'archéologie et Direction de la Communication) et le Commissariat général au Tourisme, la Province de Namur, la Ville de Namur, la Maison du patrimoine médiéval mosan, Malagne la Gallo-Romaine et Archéolo-J s'associaient pour accueillir cet événement hors du commun.

Great job, staging! Congratulations on the extraordinary and realistic demonstration of military movement and performance by Roman gladiators. It tells us a lot about the level of organization, discipline, courage, hard living, extreme brutality and hardship with which the individuals had to deal.

I could consume about 3k calories a day when I was in the US Army as a tanker over 20 years ago. I went from 120 to 150 lbs in about 3 years without going to the gym, just by performing physically-demanding tasks and physical training. Roman soldiers used to consume about/over 4k calories. These guys were beats!!!
This looks like a small section of the Field of Mars every season, where raggidy-ass recruits were transformed into rookie Roman legionaries or auxiliaries. Took maybe 5 years to properly train a new legion. Which is why Augustus was so distraught when Varrus lost 3 of them to the Germanic tribes in a single ambush.

@@gegedugludu1819 j'en suis moi même, donc.. la vision que vous avez de la question n'est pas exacte. Il n'y a pas eu de remplacement massif de la population. Les gaulois d'avant la conquête romaine étaient bien plus civilisés et méditerranéens qu'on n'a pu le croire. Il se sont volontiers assimilés mais ont largement gardé leur langue et identité ethnique. Ensuite, les "invasions" barbares ont remplacé l'élite, mais la majorité de la population descend bien des peuples gaulois. Regardez les conférences de Bruno Dumezil pour vous faire une idée.

Ah la légion romaine une armée toujours copié rarement égalé d’ailleurs le principe du corps d'armée française" la Légion Étrangère" reprend le principe romain un étranger entre dans ce corps d'armée fais sa carrière et part a la retraite comme citoyen français. L'histoire continue.

Les CRS je l'ai appellent familièrement "les légionnaires" car outre leurs équipement qui ressemble a la légion romaine ils doivent avoir leur organisation bien sur il doit avoir des améliorations mais la base elle est là
