Thanks man, most people would think of this as a boring tank with only 2 fish in it and only 1 showing most of the time. But I love them and hopefully they can grow into monsters in here.
@@Babycuz115 what would you put with a Dovii pair. Pretty much anything will be killed, it's not like growing them up together from the start. This pair has been by themselves since they were little.
It's hard pvc liner, it would take a lot for a puncture or breach. I've seen him biting at the front window part and nothing happens so I think I should be good
Ditto with Jungle Jim. I did order this exact pool pond last week but cancelled the order the next AM. I was worried I didn't find much on success/fail rate on this. Please send out a follow up on how the fish and pool pond are holding up.
I've heard about that, and the window separating in the front. I will keep a close eye on it. Thankfully the setup only cost me $360 so I guess I would maybe buy a new one if I have a total failure or something bad happens. Fingers crossed 🤞
I plan on getting a bigger one of these for a few koi. People said aside from a small leak that could happen, these ponds produce alot of humidity. Hows your experience with the humidity? Any mold?
@@uzicarries8582 I run a dehumidifier in my basement and keep it 50 or below humidity. But yes I wouldn't recommend this if you're not running a dehumidifier. Or get some plastic cover pieces to help with the humidity.
Yes I've thought about it, but with substrate you have to gravel vac and I'm not sure I want to do that with this large of area. Some river rock would look nice though!
@@teslacybertruck750 I love those but I feel they are too heavy and get too big for this type of pond. My female Dovii would also be in danger of being eaten!
Yes if I wasn't a Dovii guy I would definitely have some other monsters in there. Although red tails get up to 100 pounds they would ram this pool pond apart and flood my basement 😂
im scared watching this lol if that thing give way your basement is ruined and all your stands, couch and everything with it. i support pools indoors but not inside the home unless it can 100% not damage anything. god speed !
Thank you for your prayers 😂 , thankfully my basement is slopped to the middle drain but that would be catastrophic regardless. One of my local fish stores has had one for years still running so I think as long as I keep my kids away from it, should be ok.
I don't know if this setup and fish choice belongs to "aquarium hobby". I'll never understand why some people keeping monsterfish speices and keeping one fish in a 470 gallon of water... One of the worst setups and fish choice i've ever seen.
How does it not? That's your opinion and your outlook. Not everyone is going to like what you like. I love my Dovii pair so I gave them a larger home, if you have a problem with that.. tough. You didn't need to comment your negativity.
Looks cool happy u decided to keep him. He’s gone be a beast in a few months
I’ve looked at those ponds bet never hit the buy button. Looking forward to updates and how it holds up long term.
My local fish store has had one up for a couple years but it is kind of sketchy 😂 I do it for the love of fishkeeping
Yes update please
Nice vid
That's dope! Love Dovii especially when owners understand thier needs and keep them in large tanks by themselves or with a mate

Lol they dont have to be by there self though 🤷🏾♂️

This is the sole reason I want a house and not a apartment.
Absolutely, I had a 16 gallon tank back when I lived in an apartment 😆
How strong is that plastic? I’d worry about spines on a fish poking through if they freaked out.

Keep an eye on the pond they tend to develop small pinholes that leak apart from that amazing set up

Parachromis Dovii 3 year old pair moved to a 470g Boswell pool pond. Fx6 filter. Hygger 800watt heater. Hikari pellets and shrimp fed.

Can you provide the link for the pool pond you bought? Great idea.
Very nice setup. These ponds have always interested me. What did you put underneath it?
My basement is sloped to the middle so I used carpet squares to level it, followed by another soft rug for bottom support.
Gotcha. I bet it helps with keeping the pond warmer since it’s not directly on the concrete
Would love to see how this holds up, very cool pool pond. Would you consider adding substrate?

Looking good bro all your tanks look awesome
Thank you, my 180g is almost ready. Just gotta buy some kessil lights for it. Stay tuned
What a beautiful tank!! And fish 👍🦾🔥
Link to pool pond?
Arr we ever going to see a red tail catfish in that pool 😊?

This awesome ❤ thanks 4 sharing
Nice … I’ve got a dovii… he is bout 18 inches… he is an 8 ft acrylic…
Sounds amazing, I wish I could fit a tank like that in my tiny house. The pool pond was my only option in my home for bigger than a 225g tank.
house space ❌
Fish tank space ✅
Gotta prioritize, we never used that corner of the basement anyway. Now it's something cool 😎 my family loves my hobby, thankfully.
Nice pond, it needs a catfish in there
I wish. The Dovii would harass it to death most likely though. And I'm worried a pleco would make marks in the pvc liner.

@FishDon3 Just freaky to think about. I worry about having my 65 gallon acrylic upstairs on the 2nd floor lol. I hope to see more🤙
He definitely the wrong fish for acrylic… his teeth.. got some scratches!!
Haha yeah that is one drawback.. but acrylic tanks look so good.
Pool pond thing probably way I go .. when I buff.. how much u pay for that?
@@Tan-lc7tiI got it on sale on Amazon, think I paid $360 with coupon. Assembly was pretty straight forward with a helper. I hope it holds up.
