facts. i remember after stage one, zen got tiled on mawkzy, made him cry, then used the excuse "i was worried people were gonna pile on me on social media and i lost my nerve". which is understandable. but honestly, i really liked zen up until recently. all his outbursts and lack of sportsmanship and i've found myself rooting for him to lose typically. i understand that he's just a 16 year old kid and that's honestly a perfectly reasonable excuse, but it does seem to be worse with the frenchies.

zen hasnt gotten worse. everyone's just gotten better. I just watched some of zens old 1v1 showmatches and everyone that lost to him is so much better and faster now than 9 months ago
i dont think so. Its a combination. zen is overthinking and not going for crazy outplays like he used to when he first came into the scene. He playing too safe in most situations in my opinion. He is doubting himself i think. Top 1s players have adapted to his playstyle as well.

People are being extremely unfair to Zen, calling him "bad" all of a sudden. Yes, he had perhaps the best debut streak any 1v1 player has ever enjoyed, but those who've been watching rocket league 1s for a while know, that no matter how overwhelmingly dominant someone seems, the rest of the field eventually adapts to the top dog/king of the jungle as the meta is forced to evolve (the direction in which it does is dictated by the dominant player in the first place, or more specifically, towards his weaknesses). No one can stay at the top forever in the world of 1v1, Zen lost to Trk511 mind you, so there's no shame in losing to one of the best 1s players currently. Zen is obviously still part of the cream of the crop of 1s.

zen was never the top of the world in 1v1, and no one adapted to being as good as zen in 1v1. he got a lucky run at the beginning but still took toxic to game 5. everyone figured him out, he will be bad from now on unless he improves his 1v1 play. copium

@@ChromicClawWhen zen first showed up he brought quite the surprise to many already established 1s players, he was mechanical, smart and tricky to play against, I believe since his crazy win streak most 1s players have had to up their game. Mind you he is now a 3s player signed to vitality who won the majority of the games they played. I believe you sir are the one huffing copium!

Obviously Zen is an amazing player, but Salt Mine has got him looking real vulnerable at times. I suppose the format is just harder compared to show matches.

@@CAPNBACK he finds plenty of space. it's just that when he has it, he goes for safer shots. i really think he's feeling the pressure of expectations. the fear of losing is leading to a non-winning playstyle. when zen starts feeling it you can see the zen of old is still in there somehow. he's just afraid to let him out for whatever reason.

zen kinda fell off in 1 v1.
in his winstreak his offense seamed unstopable; he was just clipping on everyone.
now in vitality he mostly plays third man, which means he stays back most of the time, and doesnt overcommit too often.
you could say he became.... tame?
Or you could say he had a good 1v1 run and that's it. He's better at 3s than 1s. People overrated him him in 1v1 because of the initial good run he had. Even during the run, players like Toxic took him to game 5.

So, is it just because we are seeing this in spectator mode that the cars don't disappear when the ball is directly above the cars? When I am playing my car constantly becomes out of view because the camera is focusing the ball which is directly above if that makes sense
