    Great tank. Do you use any fertilizers for your plants in this tank?

    • @alasdairaquatics
      @alasdairaquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dosed tropica nutrition weekly. I use tropica fertiliser in all my planted setups 👍. Hope that helps!

    Love the tank and aquascape. Which filter do you use?

      @alasdairaquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi I am using the stock filter which came with this jewel tank. It works well! The tank is the Jewel Rio 180.👍
      Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! 😁

    Hi i have the same tank but my Led lights seem a bit to bright, Is there anything i can do i change the lower the brightness? I tried some floating plant but i found it messy on the filters

    • @alasdairaquatics
      @alasdairaquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! I think you have the newer model of this Jewel tank! Mine still has the old T5 light bulbs... I'm a bit jealous 😂. To dim the light from your tank maybe just use one led strip rather than two or you could look into buying a Jewel controller for your light which will allow you to dim it, if they make them that is, I'm honestly not sure 🤔. Or just plant it heavily with stem plants which will shade the tank after a few weeks of good growth. Just some food for thought! Good luck with it! 👍
      Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! 😁

    How much weight will the stand take?
    Also if i made one side stone heavy would it affect the strength of the stand?

    • @alasdairaquatics
      @alasdairaquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a juwel tank and the stand came with the tank. I'm not sure how much weight it holds 🤔. The tank is a juwel rio 180 and the stand is also by juwel. Maybe look into the weight these stands can take? Also I'm unsure about having rocks on one side, you can probably contact them to check and they'll have the answers 🤔
      Thanks for watching! 👍

      I wouldn't use solid stone as it might damage the glass. Use something like pumace or "dragon stone"

      This tank has been running for around 6 years and no problems for me at all so far 👍. I haven't even changed the bulbs 😂, surprised they're still going!
