When you’re in your 70’s with millions in the bank, it has to be tough to go on each year with the pressure of being expected to win the championship or you had a bad year. If Alabama is lucky, they’ll find a 30-40 year old that will make a name for himself. Everyone else is hoping they don’t 😜. I wonder if this will blow up the portal.

Bama had all the best players , now they don't, its a good time for him to get out, Bama still probably has the best program, but others now have a chance.
They have the 2nd ranked recruiting class behind Georgia. They do need to hire someone notable quick though to stop players from decommitting.
The writing was on the wall that Alabama is on the path of decline. The playing field is leveling out and Satan didn’t want to be apart of the 8 or 9 win seasons coming in Alabamas future. He said it himself, “I don’t want to ride the team down” meaning retire while you’re still on top.

Yeah, I mean, the 12-team playoff should make it more difficult for UGA, right? Bama has been the only team to beat Georgia for the past 3 seasons and is responsible for 5 of their 11 losses over the past 7 seasons. With Saban gone, Kirby might legit run rampant until he decides to hang it up himself. Smart won’t coach as long as Nick, but he’s hyper-competitive and built from the same cloth. I’m sure he’s going to try his damndest to get as close as he can to Saban’s 7 titles. Kirby has 2 at 48 years old. Vegas would probably set the odds at him at least getting two more, if not a third. What is insane is that he would still be 2 shy of Saban. Incredible run by Nick.
@@andreareynolds6143 I think Kirby has a chance to be considered the greatest of all time by the end of his career. Based in what he did as a defensive coordinator at Alabama and what he is doing at Georgia and I don't see Georgia going downhill anytime soon. They'll dominate most of the teams that get into the 12 team playoff from here out every year.

Reggie Bush saying Saban left because of NIL is funny as hell considering he lost a Heisman for accepting "gifts" from USC. Every major program was giving players things to get them to play for them before NIL and the same programs with the means to so are continuing to do that now which is why the NCAAs best football teams haven't changed that significantly post NIL.
