I have another theory. Cos the voilet dress she's wearing is the one she was wearing in the Maria mv, when she's contemplating self-harm. So the dancers in black could also represent be dark thoughts she's trying to push away.

ALSO, the cut and transition to after her intro, her hair is tied up and her outfit is polished. This can also symbolize how she came back as a new and powerful version of herself.
