I've been a working guitarist for many years I'm 75 & still gigging believe it or not.
Like the way you teach...picked up great Licks on your site! One can always learn from others!
Fingers are not as agile but still playing but no more tour's! Thanks. Just subscribed!

less 10 years, same here. always good to see what someone else does. there is always more to learn on the guitar. this is a lick I learned from SRV but it's been done by many. this guy is an excellent teacher. slomo was a nice touch.

that is the smartest camera angle for learning to play guitar as that is how many people(right handers) see the guitar.

I agree with the comment by Steven.. Your camera angle cuts out a whole step ( excuse the pun) of thinking when trying to copy your fingers..!👍🏼
I don’t have to “flip” the images in my head before I lay fingers to the fretboard..!

      Slow,one lick at a time,over and over
      with birds eye view.....Perfect!
      Perfect lesson,Perfect view
This is the way to teach
So many folks will play several
      things to fast,then before u
      know it they at lick,riff,
      etc #5,and we never
      got the first one.
Some are going to teach theory while
they are playing several things to
      fast and I can't see what fret,etc
      their fingers are on.
      Same lick over and over,
      birds eye view,same lick
      on two different tracks__
      Perfect-plenty for one
      lesson!
      Much appreciated.
      Wow.

great lick! Besides the breakdown of the lick itself, I found the most valuable part of this lesson was just listening closely to you playing out different variations of the lick in the track at the end. Hopefully others pay attention to that - as you immediately see how much potential the individual parts of the lick have when you separate them out and mix them up a bit! Great lesson, thanks!

@@ryedylantm I only started playing when the covid lockdown began. But I'm totally addicted to playing and I practice every day, sometimes for hours on end. On weekends I find myself staying up until 4am playing. I live alone..in a house, so it's okay! Playing loud at 3am is a great feeling! I'm getting better fast..but I still suck! I'm frustrated for the first time actually. I just want to be able to play to a backing track. But I don't know scales good enough. I have hundreds of pages of notes on everything, I study, I practice, I'm tired of it..I wanna play!

All of my children, boy 26, girls, 23 and 14, can't remember not having a guitar in their hands. The most difficult thing I had to deal with was my son. As a southpaw, he plays upside down and backwards. Tried to show him left-strung, so it would be like a mirror. Nope. Amazing to watch. Great video. I try to pass it on.

a useful tip for anyone learning this lick, its a lot easier if u just leave ur index finger over 12th fret of the E and B high strings from the 2nd and 3rd note u play up until after the last bend of the lick. leaving ur index there also makes it easier to hit those g string bends , try it =D

I am so damn visual when it comes to learning anything. So in all seriousness that is a great way to film this instruction! I felt like I was playing it!
I've heard basketball coaches say to always envision the ball going through the hoop while taking your shot. I think about this very thing only applied to guitar. I have to envision it in my head. And hear the sounds I want to make in my own head before I stand a chance at playing it. It's weird!... lol!
