the mercy on their team is giving me such anxiety pocketing the tank and letting the dps die a lot
Ikr. Like their mercy’s actually heal botting. I get u wanna heal and heal ur tank but shes healing TOO much
As a DPS main, this shit is the bane of my existence. But I get pocketed enough that it makes up for it lol
@TheGeckkmy husband has the opposite happen to him. he acknowledges when he’s being too aggressive and if that’s why he’s dying. he also can tell when he’s getting healed and has thanked some people for actually healing him. usually though he’s never getting heals unless i’m playing support and relies on health packs IF he can get to them. he’s a Bastion main 😭
@maxfieldspowell Oh yeah definitely, if I overextend and die that's 100% on me even if they could've saved me, and I'm very thankful for the pocket when I do get it(I play a lot of hitscan so I get the pocket decently often). It's just when I'm on 42 HP and the tank is on 270 hp and the mercy is on them instead of me it's a little annoying lmaooo
@ i’m happy to say that no matter who i’m playing as support i try to keep everyone above half health. i usually play mercy, zen, moira, or ana (mainly zen)
3:43 Something I noticed immediantely is a huge lack of damage and pressure. They hold their healing blossom and never take any time to poke from a distance and provide pressure
especially on the tree with the zar just blast her w the thorns or try and help secure the kill on the bastion on third
thorns are such a good chunk of dmg that people overlook way too often
@honeybearclaw especially with the new change that charges your blossom passively to enable more damage. The time they spend holding a blossom could be time shooting and the healing would be the same
Honestly I just think this Lifeweaver needs to deal a bit more damage whenever they are looking for something else to do
Too often they had enemies in front of them and nobody to heal but is instead of trying to deal a bit more damage to gain Ult charge or simply just apply pressure they'd just be looking for what else to do and fall over
3:30 dude is just putting out the fire
lmao
As a Support Main who loves playing weaver, i have a few pointers.
First, he needs to at least fire at the enemy when the team fights begin. LW's damage isn't the worst and is easy to his headshots; but every bit of damage helps your DPS get picks.
Second, Stop healing if everyone is at full health and not taking damage. Ive noticed many times where he is at half ammo for his blossoms because he just heals for no reason. Stop it, reload and get ready for the next fight. Pre Place your petal so the CD comes off faster and you can use it to escape. Know your escape lines and think about the enemy composition. Go into every team fight prepared and you give your team the best chance at success.
Lastly, stop wasting your grip. I saw some bad grips on team mates that weren't in a fight that could have been used to save others. Furthermore, you need to trust your tank more. A Half Health Rein is still a threat to the enemy, just heal them and let them make plays. (Also please reload in the pauses, you will need as much ammo as you can. I can't stress enough how important it is for them to get comfortable reloading when the only one being damaged is your tank.)
My guy HATES shooting thorns. 😮
i would like to also add that this lw was in the middle of the open a LOT. i counted about a dozen times where he would've been absolutely annihilated by a widow or an ashe who was even half decent. the more you climb, the better people's aim is gonna get, so watch your positioning.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Their positioning was extremely floaty a lot of the time. They'd just sit or walk around right in the middle of the open. With that kind of positioning I am not surprised they are stuck right below plat, where enemies start to both be able to aim and take better positioning to punish positioning like this lifeweaver.
I personally think that most of their petal, pulls, and healing were probably good enough for plat. The petals could definitely improve, but I think they really need to focus on their positioning, and cleaning up their ultimate usage more so than anything.
Damage was another thing... but lifeweaver isn't really a good support for dealing damage anyway. They could definitely poke and put out pressure more while nobody needs healing, but that's something that they can also work on later.
As a lifeweaver main with 89 hours, it hurts to see this person just healbot, they could be doing more dmg and cancelling ults. They gotta break the healbot habit, lifeweaver thorn volley has really good poke dmg, if your team is topped off shoot down the enemy direction and deal poke dmg.
Your cat showing everyone his butt is hilarious, but it's also good to know he trusts us.
I personally believe that they play too passively and dont take many opportunities to do damage
He could stay on the pedal longer and use it to get to and play high ground so you can see your allies better. Most of the time their on the ground hoping
Honestly I think I'd disagree that their petal usage was decent. It was good that they were using it, but every single petal could be split into one of 2 groups:
- 1 = purely for LW's use
- 2 = to counter Grav
There wasn't any non-Grav petal usage to help teammates. The closest to it was when LW took petal, then pulled a teammate from across the map to join them, like on defence of A when they pulled the Zen up, and even then it was just to high ground as they'd already vacated the petal themselves.
Additionally there were a few times where there was a petal up, but in an unused position, whilst it was off cooldown and a new one could be thrown down.
Like, it's a good thing they're using the ability a reasonable amount, but I believe they can up their game by using it even more, and looking for situations when they can use it specifically for helping teammates
You were waaaay too nice here Emongg I can't believe this person has almost hit plat?? They were constantly out in the open, standing near the enemy team, walking straight through them even sometimes! They also spent 95% of the time healbotting and never using thorns. You won't climb if you're essentially relying on your team to make plays.
10:42. Careful with wasting pull, when pulling Reinhardt, look at his shield. If it’s not cracked, you have time to heal him up and save pull when really needed.
Their positioning needs work. They rely on petal so much that they're always looking at the ground to use it when they could've just played better positions for longer
im just a bronze lw main, so i could be super wrong on this, but i dont think theyre utilizing lw's kit as much as they could be. lw can actually do some pretty decent dpsing but this lw doesn't seem to do any damage unless someone is right in their face. like when they trapped themselves with that zarya, if they werent going to try to do damage there was no reason for them to use that tree and it ended up being a waste (but also trapping yourself with a zarya just doesn't make much sense in general). i also think their pulls are kinda weird, they pull their rein when they're not that low and it leads to them not having their pull when they could save another teammate. and maybe its just me but i feel like their movements are kinda slow? with lw being such a reactive hero, you have to be constantly looking for your team and checking your surroundings but they just seem to move a bit slowly
just because you're in bronze doesn't mean you can't have solid knowledge about a hero! I'm not a LW connoisseur but this is all consistent with my understanding of the hero.
LW needs to be aggressive. A good LW is a feral LW.
Why tf is no one talkin about what happened at 7:29? He almost c9'ed his team
I dont play LW much, but I am a support main- and I feel like they got distracted in crucial moments, allowing teammates to die.
Their petal usage- well, they used petals but they werent good imo, exempting the grav petals, those ofc were perfectly fine.
This LW often held to do healing when teammates needed damage assistance,
These are small easy fixes, and I think this LW could get out of gold if they work on it (Petals, Priorities, DMG).
More dmg is needed, you can snipe low health enemies with lw dmg. The first maybe 10? bullets on lw are super accurate, so you can pick off players in their backline easily. I also think lws use their pull too liberally. If I can heal it without a pull, I will. I only pull if their end position will be advantageous and if I can’t heal the dmg normally.
8:25. This is the downtime typically could push up to the left stairs going up to get an angle around the corner. You have tree. You can make another angle for pressure cuz they will be back in time for the underpass fight. You want rein to push up to the second corner enemy’s side corner for map control.
Also 8:41 keep in mind a place and opportunity to place LW tree. I like placing it on the cart to have moving burst heals but if rein charges in. I try and stakcyit near him so he has tree heals, space, my burst heals, and if he’s full health, use your built in halo needler.
NOTE TO LW MAINS:
LW Healing and Damage ammunition will automatically charge up in its own. You don’t need to constantly hold it like when he first came out. Not that there’s a problem if you do, but you can save your hands the strain and just do a quick click for your first automatically charged heal.
The young peapole i once got on 23 game loss streak w 33k healing on him 😂😂
Tank playing mystery heroes. Always a promising sign.
2:45. That just seemed like you panicked trying to heal the mauga. He’s playing keep away from you 😂😂
That whole interaction pissed me of. He pulled mauga onto high ground and allowed him and the team to take a great angle. Then he immidielty los is supports and charges back to the bridge. Like he really, really REALLY wanted to die on that bridge.
@ unfortunately that still happens a lot in my plat/diamond games still 😂. Ngl, I definitely get greedy for kills when I see a low enemy and I have lost los in the heals. My fault. I ve been trying to stop that but I out faith in my heals to play with my pace. So I gotta learn when to adjust sooner in my play style still.
@ but yeah this tank was just full send almost all game which makes it hard to keep up cuz life weaver basically HAD to pocket tank. Sometimes both healers were double focused on rein. Tank just didn’t change gears hardly all game. Not good
I tumbled from silver 3 to bronze 3 when I started to play LW too 😭
Not just this guy in particular, but something to take account post season 9 ow2 is that you NEED a “flex” support. Someone who can do damage and heal, and a main healer. Y’all notice that once the team mate went zen they started rolling?
So, if anyone’s reading this wondering what they can do in a situation like this, a swap is a good idea. We all have our mains, but our priority is to our team. Not YOU as an individual. Once the team mate went zen, then fine, stay on weaver.
Listen before I stopped playing and switched over to Marvel Rivals I was a lw main, the biggest thing I'd say about this gameplay and I'm literally like 3 minutes into the video, is their petal usage is subpar at best, it also feels like they don't really use his little dash and though lifeweaver isn't very good for dpsing, I would've been blasting the second that zarya popped into the room after I popping my ult
Wow watching this match has made me realize how little I missed this game
Damn, I am in the bronze/silver support and this is a typical LW experience below Gold rank. I noticed thorns weren't used but then again, the other support is a Zenyatta/mercy, so healtbot mode is active for more healing. I would still use thorns to take some general potshots (I have bad aim) in areas that the enemy team are going. This is a team effort in my eyes for going one on one in the beginning and I think I didn't see/hear pings of enemy locations. That is my two cents
when ur team have like 70% of their hp u can do damage as a support but try not to let them fall below that. If theres only three people in ur team and enemy has 5 just back up a bit. If there's only 2 of u and 5 or 4 of them then it's fine to die there so u can quickly reset so you can group up faster. But if it's overtime and ur gonna lose if only a few of u are alive then try to stall the point one by one. If u can get a kill on a squishy even better.
Some how ppl always bring up mr even tho it wasnt even in the conversation
If i were on this Lifeweaver's team, I wouldn't be ok with most of these pulls
A full lobby of crazy names wtf 😂
Honestly some of their pulls were questionable. Had some good ones, but also wasted some when they could have saved it and had it available for when they really needed it (like pulling almost full health Rein, or an almost full health Zen when they had corner cover). If they try to petal and don't have the cooldown up they also kind of... stare at the ground for a while before it seems to register to them what happened. I also wonder if they hard focus healing too much? Admittedly, there's not a lot of opportunity to focus damage this match, but the part where they prioritized healing Rein for a tiny bit of damage rather than looking for the Moira they could hear on their right makes me wonder what they're like in other matches. They're hardly the only person on their team making mistakes, but there's definitely stuff they could clean up
The enemy Mercy’s name is making me giggle
He's saying it nicely but if you want to break free without relying so heavily on your team, change support lol
Their ppl that are top 500 that only play one to two characters only 🤷🏽♀️it all about playing as a team
Average mercy lifeweaver game. Struggling to give pressure and getting walked over
ah, the classic "I'm going to make simplistic overgeneralizations about heroes based on the gameplay of people who aren't good at them because I don't have a nuanced understanding of the heroes" comment
i wonder why most people dont check their environment or teammates to see who is around them or shooting at them, they just stare down main at most of the team for almost the whole game, even if a dps is blasting them
i feel that most of their struggles would be resolved with that one change, as well as of course not walking straight into someones face when dpsing them
These are games that I get.
They used life pull every time it came out of cooldown, lots of unnecessary pulls. Using tree way too early a lot. Also just general bad positioning. Also not offensive enough.
One of the biggest problems i see is this lw positioning. there was multiple occasions where he was out of position and i understand this is gold 5 but his goal is to climb out of gold and into plat. In plat , he will get punished so hard for this positioning errors.
Hes pulling alot for no reason
Honestly I think kenyatta was going to ukt there regardless with the tree up or not
Zenyatta* and ult *
Yeah this player is terrible. emongg was real kind this game.
19:26, you need to be playing farther back, you are still stacking to close to your teammates and cart.
There's a reason why mercy and lifeweaver are one of the lowest winrate supports.
If you truly want to climb, play the ones that could make plays (Juno, Kiiri, Lucio).
If you play heal bots then your win is in your teammate hands.
Im a console player (this statement isn't about the video), but i wanted to say im a good dps. Every game i get potg or top of the dmg/kills. I can say the same about my support since i a really good ana/mercy main. every rank reset i always get gold and never have been able to climb because my teammates are braindead. I usually play with my friends who are diamonds/masters. We usually win our games. On the next rank reset, does anyone have any suggestions for a higher rank i deserve? I would really appreciate it because im so tired of the gold player's.
I came to look at the comments and realized this is the first time I’ve been so early 🙃
me too 😭 unusual
I hope support players realise they are called "support" and not heal bots they should deal some damage here and there aswell
Lifeweaver is probably second worst to mercy in terms of damage. Not that I don't agree they could've done a bit more damage when nobody needed any heals and what-not.
The reason its so hard to climb out of gold os because the game is free and no one communicates. Comp is litterally qp if people arent communicating or until you get to diamond.
It’s bothers me so much people play a team based game and go radio silent in the comms. What’s stupid is I’ve had so many teammates get pissed after losing the first round, come into chat to bitch and leave again. The few times I can get them to listen to me and communicate properly with callouts and pings we end up dominating and winning. I don’t get it. I understand people can be toxic, but don’t mute or stay out of group chat til you find out.
ki
He's Gold? broo...I play LW soo much better, he's sooo slow with his movement, decision making, petal use...its like he's playing on .75 speed. He should be bronze 5 at most. And his healing and pull sensitivity are on default too
Then what exactly would be the settings you’d want him to change it to?
