    Most motherboards have a feater allowing them to swirch on via ethernet already, u can send a packet from the rpi without having to do any wiring or complexity

      Don’t have wake on lan on my hardware.

      @@SkillCollectors I looked up your motherboard, h110-a/m.2, and the manual confirms it has WOL support
      I think this is a really cool implementation, and it does provide monitoring which normal WoL doesn't. But I also want to suggest the alternative for those who want similar functionality without the complexity.

      I installed this unit on my Gigabyte-x58-ud3r motherboard which I couldn't find wake on lan settings. Maybe I missed it somewhere though. (I used this other PC to develop the prototype)

    Only just realising i have no idea what your even talking about "computer wizardry" but i like knowledge so i sit there and try is probably the exact same feeling my mrs has when she comes out to the shed to find me with a engine half disassembled im describing what the individual parts do in unison to work.... yeah ends up like a puppy with that head tilt thing they do yeah i just fpund myself doing the same with this video hahahaha
