You are very right about how the modded maps seem to have the outside walks off in a lot of cases. Auralis from Starlancer moons looks cool, with the outside having a lot of trees that make the giants that spawn surprisingly manageable, but it's just so goddamn far, and with the one fire exit needing parkour aswell - some of which even with a flashlight in the later day you can't see anything - makes me a lot less keen to go there. Also, Wateridge is hidden by default in LethalExpansioncore, which is a dependency for a lot of modded moons and overrides LethalExpansion by default whilst all mods that need the latter work with the former; using LethalExpansion itself generally works way worse with LethalLevelLoader, making the moons not show up on terminal for one. All interiors and it seems an increasing amounts of exteriors use LethalLevelLoader. A lot of the LethalExpansion ones are moving to either LethalExpansionCore or LethalLevelLoader, likely as a result of the mod dev of LE wanting to move on from the project and find a successor for the mod. His influence on the modding scene is defo big though, they're credited for helping make LethalLevelLoader.
I kinda love Atlas, lots of masks is funny - the loot probably could do with a lil bit of a buff. I think I have gotten 800 when I've went there, but tbf its a pretty brutal map with the fire exit being so far away. Giants spawn too, and when I tried to bait them across the bridge using jetpack I didn't have much success and they seemed to wander back. Fire exit makes a good deep corner to teleport bait to though. Infernis has 3 Fire exits I think, it's not just the one across the lava chasm. Also Giants are surprisingly manageable there, I think the one fire exit is just following the main sorta pathway thing on from main, but you can also walk along the edge next to the lava chasm and avoid giants. Think I remember seeing like 3 there on eclipsed, so it's gotta be decently high rates. Acidir looks like, it's one I saw on thunderstore and thought looked sick but havent had the chance to go to yet. Really like the low-cost moons as a concept, like most of them are kinda defunct since they'll give less loot than the more expensive ones but 'less' danger. Some mods have really nice descriptions too. Didn't realise the terminal sell mod added a sell quota. Thats incredibly useful. The selling experience is like nice but also takes ages if you're selling even like 700 value of stuff which is easily done first quota... A lot of the moons esp. the newer ones are sick as hell. Love them, although balancing on some I doubt. Looking forward to what Zeekers cooks in the main game too tbf, and also I'm hoping that interior mods have a more unified way of doing config, becuase some of them don't really let you adjust chances per moon.

New maps and new mobs can keep this game alive a swear. After the initial impact everyone worked out the mechanics quickly and it kind of lost its surprise factor

hey, you should try the mod facility meltdown! it changes the apparatus value to 240. And causes a slight problem with the facilities nuclear reactor when you remove it ;D
Here's a few ideas for the modders; A dinosaur park (with a few new monsters like mutated raptors), the Alien ship, an abandoned Star Trek/Star Wars ship, or even a new zombie monster (an alternative masked guy).
