Sadly there not taking care of it. Millions of dollars spent on other projects that was for the bridge painting. 5 years later still not painted. The paint is all that protects the bridge. But your right truly amazing

Been to San Francisco twice, June 2017 I drove my Mustang convertible from Toledo to Big Basin state park and made a stop for lunch at Pier 39. And in January 2020, I flew my mom out to California for her 70th birthday and we stopped at Lake Tahoe, Muir woods, Alcatraz island, Stinson beach, dinner at Pier 39, California state railroad museum in Sacramento and Yosemite national park .

My mom was on it the day it opened. ❤❤ My stepgrampa was one of the iron workers who helped build it. I love it so much. I can't say how many times I've been on it. Sailed under once too! Fun date!!😊😊❤

The GGB raised its toll from $3 to $5. All the motorists were PISSED! Such a big jump. So, several weeks
after it happened I happened to have to cross. As I approached the toll both I saw there was a big sign
in the window of the toll both which read:
'PLEASE, DO NOT THROW COINS AT TOLL TAKER' AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
People were going to their bank & getting silver dollars & THROWING them at the toll takers.
