I honestly like this idea. It’s optional and you can even disable the pop ups, plus there’s even a chance at getting alphas and sapphires
If you never bought anything before though, you don’t get a prize and it’s not optional either. They are really annoying, I can’t even leave the world without an ad popping up.

i think its fine and people needa stop complaining. the ads are high quality, predictable, safe, skippable, and theres an option to turn off popups completely. the developers need money and the alternative is paying more for gameplay/content.
If you haven't bought anything for real money you can't turn them off or get prizes

Ads only have a chance of popping up after the loading screen so like when you switch lands or enter a den etc some people are using it as a farm for items that way

Personally, I really like the idea! It reminds me of the chest that used to be in the old sapphire shop were you could watch adds to get prizes. And you can choose to disable the pop ups so people that don’t want to watch ads don’t have to and it won’t annoy them. I don’t think animal jam is money hungry because imo, if animal jam was money hungry, they wouldn’t have an option to disable the ads or to cancel the add and it would more than likely would just be a regular ad that plays without the pop up screen. But overall, I really like the ad update 😄
There's one thing you need to know to understand WHY people are so angry about aj adding adds.
Because if you've never bought anything from the Premium Shop, you can't switch off the adds. Plus, you don't get anything from watching them either. That means you have to pay REAL MONEY to turn off the adds.
People who bought sth from shop usually don't know this and say you can turn them off or that it's not that bad. But without a buying sth it's just really annoying, and not everyone has enough money to 'waste' it on computer games.

Yes I get the glitch where I don’t always get items xd! Also I don’t think this was mentioned but in my spares that I use, I have not bought any items from the premium shop. Problem is that on those spares I’ll get ads randomly without the option being on, and it will tell me something like: buy something from the premium shops and you’ll never have to watch an add forcefully ever again! I forgot what is said exactly, but something like that.. it’s kinda sad that they’re putting pressure on people to spend more money..
Oh, that's really bad. Yk maybe you don't have money or your parents don't let you buy some. It can be rlly an issue. They need to relax abt this. Really, it's probably annoying and stuff.

@rylieervin625 yeah.. i agree.. I just hope that they don’t take away the feature that lets you pay membership with sapphires! That would really suck, and would officially mean wild works is now really officially greedy, and that’s when I would probably quit.. that’s how I get my membership, it would be really sad :(
I love the update because it reminds me of the old layout sapphire shop which had a chest at the very far right corner. In my opinion it gives people a choice wether they want items or sapphires, that’s why I like the new update ❤
I think they added it more so for the people who were upset they removed the chest from the sapphire shop where you could watch ads. I personally am so happy they brought them back bc all you have to do is wait less than a minute and you get free stuff.
I really like this choice! Some people HAVE gotten an alpha chest from this, so I think from that a lot of jammers will try to grind it and that will help ajhq get money for the game! The only problem is that it's not optional on new accounts. The ads will pop up randomly and not give you a prize. You have to buy something from the premium shop to turn them off. Playing on my spares is more annoying now because of this. And I get it- animal jam is just trying to keep the game alive. It's just inconvenient at times.
I've found that ads show up when you travel to different lands, so if you want to watch a bunch for items just travel between lands often. I found this out when looking for nocturnal animals and getting more ads than animals.
I’ve noticed over the past few days ad’s have been popping up when traveling to a different play recently. Also the same three ads come up and it gets annoying because it takes a minute of my time that I could be using for something else. On my spare I just noticed the feature to turn them off isn’t there anymore. Personally I don’t like them because all the ads are like 1-2 mins long and you can’t skip out when they give you ads when you are traveling somewhere.
i remember when they had adds originally. it was HUGE! we could get saphires sooooo much easier! everyone were so mad when they removed it! it was a wheel in the sapphire shop so you just got stuff for an ad (limited ads)

AAAA every time I get a crayola ad the game brakes and there’s no X so I have to reload 💀
They have actually had adds for quite a while now for non-members. When they added the re-roll for members, it was also added for non-members but you had to watch an ad, so like a few months now.
I actually really really like this unlike other things it doesn’t actually spam you with ads not to mention you can disable them and get really good prizes. I have never gotten a good prize, but there is a small tiny chance to get one for example an alpha chest I really recommend keeping it though because even though they pop up out of nowhere sometimes it’s just one ad it’s not five different ads.
Usually it pops up when you enter a den or go somewhere in Jamaa- not every time but it happens enough that you could probably farm items.
its actually manditory for new accounts that were not made before they added the ads. the only way to get rid of them is so to buy anything from the premium saphire shops to get rid of them permanently. it does not give you a option to skip either
I made a new account cuz I haven’t played in a while, and I don’t get the option to turn them off unless I buy premium.
And I get an add every few times I teleport to a new land and I don’t even get the option to get a prize so that’s super fun 😻💫

I remember they did used to have ads like now but before sapphire shop rework but they pop up after moving worlds, it is annoying and i didnt notice to turn them off but its still annoying to be honest

Sometimes, when I try to watch an ad, it never pops up, and it'll just randomly break my game, and I eventually end up restarting the game.

i remember a really long time ago there were ads. In thenold sapphire shop in the very end, they had a chest where you could watch ads and get a gift. I dont know what happened to them, but now theyre back

Sometimes I’ll be recording and I’ll suddenly get an ad and I have to edit it out which makes it an even longer process plus I don’t get anything
I didn't even realize there were ads, my guess is that I had them disabled by default or they're just not available on PC, probably gonna enable them if I can because y'know I like getting rewards n all
You should make a video on how they added a feature that makes hacking people easier 😭. After the newest update if you type in your password once into an account you can get back into it without needing to type a password, and if you make a new password and a hacker gets a hold of it they can log into your account even if you make a new password! I just learned about this an hour ago but I think people need to know that it is going on to stay safe. To anybody reading this stay safe and don’t wear anything that could give you away as having a ton of rares and get 2step verification!
When my brother told me animal jam had ads we were both like “animal jam is sick!” But it was all fun in games because we weren’t mad about it at all, we just thought it was funny because we use to say “imagine if animal jam had ads.” So it was a funny experience for me and my brother!

I dont even have the turn off setting for ads nor have I ever got the ads to pop up
There’s like a couple glitches with the adds either you click watch add and sometimes it just disappears other times the add will just not show the video but it still plays (you never rlly get a prize when this happens) or you get the glitch where it plays the add and then you get no gift. So far that’s all the glitches I’ve seen.
You can grind adds if you’d like to by constantly world hopping or trying to go to a locked den repeatedly/repeatedly clicking the go to buddy button when the buddy is in a full server or den. :) hope this helps!
So the ad pop ups come up pretty often for me. It’s usually when switching to a different area on the map after the loading screen.
They didnt ADD ads, they BROUGHT BACK ads. Old players will remember 💖
What’s even more unfair is that their is new “rare” items from these ads like new rare striped items new blue prints like there’s a baby bonnet BP a fan tail BP and way more there’s actually some really good stuff if your lucky to get ‘em… what’s sad is that if you play on PC your never able to get these new items which just sucks especially since you can’t buy BP’s from the explorer so it’s almost impossible to get a crafted baby bonnet with the colors you want!
And there’s actually a method to get unlimited ads just turn on ads close the game then launch the game then when you load in travel three lands/places and boom an ad once you watch the ad and get the prize just rinse and repeat and boom! Unlimited ads!
well if your a new player you need to buy something from the premium shop to stop adds no one knows cuz they all rich but i got a alt account and found out :(

Some people may not know there's ads due to what device they play on?? Just a theory. I never get ads when I'm playing on my laptop, but I will get them when I play on my phone.
i think people are mad because theres this thing where people who havent bought anything with money in the game get ads i noticed this only when i made an alt to play on its extremly annoying because everytime i go to a different map after like 4 times i get and add and i cant even skip it tbh ill probably just buy something cheap from the shop to get rid of it
Yall are forgetting that there are people behind this game that need money to survive. The economy is horrible and almost everyone across the world is struggling horribly, so AJ needs to add these features in order to pay their employees (AT MOST) minimum wage.

I just returned to animal jam for the first time in a while to test this out- and after checking the prizes and all, they are pretty bad😭 You can’t get alpha chests, and all the items are very cheap and in store . The best stuff you can get are sapphires and some blueprints. And for me, I got a pop up as soon as I joined the game, and after a few minutes I got another - so that’s about 2 ads every 10 minutes or something? Idk I think it’s okay but the prizes could be a lil better

Personally, I think it was a great idea to add to the game. Optional, and occasionally give good prizes. I sold a cool item I got for 500 sapphires so I’m not complaining. Also a lot of sapphires, and a chance at an alpha chest? It’s not that terrible especially when you can turn them off. And saying animal jam is money hungry for adding it is a little weird in my opinion..? Doesn’t every company need money? It’s not that bad to add something optional for players and make money off it. Also you only get the ad pop up the more you travel through the worlds. It doesn’t pop up when sitting in one place, and after watching too many ads for one sitting it wont give anymore. Some kinda bug or it’s giving said jammers a break because they watched too much AHAHA ( still unfair though definitely should give prizes every time, most just bug out after watching too much. ) I watch the ads whenever I get the chance and I usually end up getting sapphires or a cheap gem item.

I, am a user who hasn’t bought anything in the premium store can’t actually skip these ads, and they’re also not rewarded. They’re simply just pop up 30s ads and are completely unskippable. Imo, I think it’s AJHQ’s way of making money off those players who haven’t bought anything from the premium store.for a lot of players, such as the ones in this comment section, they’ve bought from the premium store before, and are unaware of the new problems that non-premium buying players are forced to just deal with. And these ads are constant! Every time I go to another area, I get a 30s ad and I can’t do anything about it! It’s really disruptive, and I used to love AJ.

So actually, you can get an ad pop up if you change areas like 2-3 times (ex: jamaa -> den, den -> pack hideout) Also, Crystallis is out! Wooo!
I made another account once and the first thing that popped up was an ad that I couldn’t choose to not watch wich is sad. I have also noticed that when I had 12 sapps it gave me 8 sapps from an ad, but when someone bought something for 500 sapps- it only gave me 1 000 gems wich is not something that happened once
I also have noticed something bad about adds, the time I made another account, I can’t turn the adds off and I DO NOT get things when I watch adds
I noticed that AJ doesn't have ads on pc (at least for me), but only on mobile. Personally I like it because free stuff, and I think it's fine since you can literally disable it.
there was no button for me to take off ads... i had to pay $3 to get rid of them....
I don’t care about the ads I just don’t like them popping up, I’d rather them be in a spot you can go too and click on to watch, because I want the ads but I don’t want them popping up all the time :/ I’d rather choose when I watch them, I have had them pop up 4 times with in the span of like 6 mins :/ it was really annoying but I do want them just not randomly shoved in my face when I’m busy trying to quickly do something 😭

I just learned New Jammers do not have the options to disable ads, unfortunately.

I think the ads can be alright but it’s a real bummer you only really get gems or a couple sapphires
You completely forgot the option when your not a member to reroll an item for an add.
At least we get to turn the ads off for free!

Hey leamon there was a minor update and a very controversial thing they added it’s of if u logged onto the same device and swap to another acc it dosent need a password.. like people have passwords for a reason so siblings and freinds don’t get onto their accounts AJ needs to get rid of this ..
Tip! If you go to settings you can turn it off and around 5 years ago (I think)

My friend said they made a spare account with no membership and the ad pop-up came up and it said if you want to turn off ads you need membership. Now i haven’t seen this but they did send me a screenshot of it happening. Somebody also told me you can’t turn off ads on android, but they never sent me a screenshot so take it with a grain of salt.
(Also on the aj website it says that animal jam is an AD FREE game so they are kind of false advertising on the website now that they added ads again)

But people were complaining, if you watch my video you’ll get to the part where I say why. People are just so fed up with ajhq that anything they do ( in this case that tries to make the company money) bothers people. It’s just dumb cuz this isn’t even bad in the slightest.
