I work in a care home and the doors are an absolute nightmare. We haven't got any of these. We have the overhead closures. They are all set on a fast closing speed to comply with fire regulations but they slam. It's awful and very few staff take the time to ease the doors closed. They just let them slam behind them. I do and some other staff do but most of them don't, that's just the way of it. Most people don't care. The occasional door slam is always going to happen but there are A LOT of door slams all day every day and it's not only annoying it's also dangerous and damaging. Anyway, we have tried them on more gentle (slower) latching speeds but they become unreliable. They latch nice for a day or two then they stop latching properly so then they have to be altered back to slamming. It's a nightmare! Any suggestions on how to get around that problem? Obviously we have the overhead closures so a door damper isn't needed as it does the same job? Or can a door damper be used as well as a overhead door closer?
My roller lever does not stay down, when door is opened. Upon opening the door, the roller lever will go down due to rail, but then it will go up as if the door is closed.
