    I recently put in my app on the 9th & the next day i received a email to do a video interview. I'm mostly hearing everyone getting a telephone interview or face to face but i received an email to do a video interview & now i'm waiting. What happens next?

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know USAirways, Delta and maybe Frontier are heading toward the video interview. I am not sure how that process works but I have talked to a newly hired flight attendant. After the video she was invited for a face to face interview and the process seemed similar to what my experiences were. The process takes a really long time. There are thousands of candidates who apply. Hang in there and good luck!

      Thomas Cunningham I am currently going through the same process. I applied and they asked me to do a video interview. Then they called and invited for a face to face interview. Waiting on the email so I can confirm a date. Did you end up getting hired?

  • @Laniaae

    Hi Jacqueline. Glad I came across your video. You mentioned about having your shoes taken off to see if you can put a luggage in the over head bin. I thought FA do not lift luggages in the over head bins for passengers? Also, if you're unable to lift a luggage without your shoes will they disqualify you? I'm 5' 1' and concern the buck stops there for me. I have my 2nd phone interview next Tues. I was told no age or height requirement. Of course you must be at least 5' I would think and not below that. Thanks again for your time in sharing with us.

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Laniaae, we assist with lifting luggage. Obviously if there is a little old lady struggling to lift her bag I am going to do it for her. That being said a lot of flight attendants do have to have shoulder surgery from lifting bags so often. That is why we offer to help a passenger, not do it ourselves. I would not let height stop you from applying. Most airlines have waived the height requirements now. At 5'1'' you should be able to reach all of the safety equipment so I don't see any problems. Good luck with your interview! Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends, and I know that answer sucks but it's the truth. At some of the flight attendant hiring events I have worked we did a wrist, arm and neck tattoo check, other times we didn't. I have seen flight attendants with wrist tattoos. It never hurts to cover it with a bandaid!

    Hi Jacqueline thank you for all the updated information I'm interviewing with PSA and Republic this week I really really want this job so bad and I was wondering what color do you think that I should do my nails and also what is the name of that red lipstick that you love

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kim Bright no particular nail color, just keep them clean and on the shorter side. I love Chanel's lip stain (Alexandrite) , the color lasts all day. Tarte wonder LipSurgence, and revlon balm stain (Honey) are great choices too. Good luck with the interviews!

    i love your videos you are so sweet... i wanted to know what company do you work for and did they pay you during training? I also wanted to know if you think it possible to be a single mom and be a flight attendant ? thank you

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a majority of airlines pay for training once training is complete. Something else to consider is if they cover hotel costs during training. I fly with a few single mom flight attendants but they have a lot of support. It is possible. Tricky in the beginning because you are on call and can be flown anywhere at any time so you would need to have child care on call. It can be done though!

    Hello I just wanted to know what exactly is a bad company compared to yours? How do I know which airline to apply for? Thanks

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone will have different reasons they think an airline is "bad." Apply for an airline that flies to destinations you would like to have layovers in, that has bases in a city you would like to live in and research the reserve lifestyle. You can hear all about it, but you have no clue what it is really like until you do it. Good luck with the job hunt!

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      GD topics? Let me know what you mean by that. You will be asked about past work experience- specifically situations where you dealt with people who couldn't be pleased, taking on additional duties or shifts and how you reacted to the extra work or time at work.

    Do you think its possible to stay in college and be a flight attendant? Will it get in the way? Will the airline work around your school schedule?

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The airline (any of them) will never work around your schedule, they control where you live and when you fly. Unless you are taking online courses it would not be possible to continue your schooling. I hate to give the bad news but that is the truth.

    • @Xclusive3Strz
      @Xclusive3Strz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? It will be hard. Do you know anyone in your airline that does that?

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few but they are not on reserve they have a schedule. All airlines have new flight attendants start on reserve so just remember that. Online classes as a new hire will be the easiest way for you to continue school

    Hi, i am having my assessment day in few days and i do need to know how should i be acting in the group discussion Stage and is it okay to keep on smiling all the time ?! i have been struggling with this job since long time up until now and i really want to be a cabin crew, please mention more details about the face to face interview and give me a gd answer for the question why we should hire you! if you please and thanks in advance :)

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carol Eid Smile as long as you are happy and definitely socialize during group activities. There isn't a specific answer recruiters are looking for as to why they should hire you so just sell yourself.

    I think you work for SWA lol. ;-)
    Btw, are we required to have a passport during the F2F? Some other video blogs scare me about having one. I have a video interview with one airline, and I'm wondering (if they invite me to the next step), they might ask for it. Also, did you airline measure height? I'm 5'0", but could be less or more depending on who'll measure me.

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are typically required to have your passport or papers showing that you have filed to get your passport.
      The first airline I was with did measure me and the second did not. 5 feet should be just fine! Good luck with your interview!!!

    Hi Jacqueline, I have a f2f interview coming up. I have tattoos. They are not visible at all if I wear long sleeve. I will be wearing a suit with long sleeves, would I be okay? I'm so nervous about that.

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Miosotis Diaz-Ortiz You should be just fine. Visible tattoos are what hold people back. I have tats and 2 different airlines have hired me. Just make sure when you move they stay 100% covered! Good luck!

    • @miadiazortiz21
      @miadiazortiz21 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacqueline Travels Thank you so much for responding. I am trying to prep for this interview and make sure I am covering all my bases. I am going to wear a navy blue skirt suit with a white long sleeve collared shirt that buttons at my wrists to make sure my tattoos don't show. I'm concerned about the reach test I keep hearing about though. Should I also cover them with concealer or a skin sleeve? Just to be on the safe side? I don't want that to be the reason I don't get hired.

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you think they may show definitely cover them with makeup. Skin colored nail polish works too if you want to deal with how that feels...

      I don't want to share which carrier I work for for a number of reasons. All the opinions about the job are my own. As far as comparing other airlines...I have been hired at 2 (both major carriers) but I think the job is pretty standard across the board. Is there anything specific you want to know?

    • @itzeldominguez5063

      Jacqueline Travels hi !! I love your video! I would love to become a flight attendant, and I'm concerned about the requirements of being very fluyent in english, I do write, read in english but I'm not that fluyent when I speak! Will that be an impediment to get hired ?

    • @JacquelineTravels
      @JacquelineTravels  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the fact that you are bi-lingual should help you get hired! More than likely you will be asked to read the safety demo in English if you are applying for an American carrier, just say it slow and as clearly as possible. Just practice having conversations in English. If you can read and write it you have mastered the hard part. Good luck
