That brought back some memories. I had many breakfast croissants at that Jack in the Box, walked every morning to Bradley Elementary school. I was told not to enter the housing area that was there or we would be kidnapped and killed. Lived behind that Bargin Thrift store for.most of our Elementary years on olive st in a 1 bedroom apartment. . We were dirt poor. My only goal when graduating HS was to leave. I live in Iowa now, so I guess goal achieved!

Did you ever try the Monterey roast beef from Jack In The Box back in the day? I still love that sandwich! Wish they would bring it back! It was on flatbread with a chili relleno and roast beef

I lived in Rialto in 70s, having graduated from Ike in 1979. Been down this road countless times. It has hardly changed. Been to Amapola's many times. There used to be a place called "Jim's What-A-Steak" on Baseline. They had the best grinder sandwiches. Seems like the bridge over the 215 freeway is relatively new. I honestly don't remember how it was before. Good to see that Alfredo's Italian is still there. Great food! Snow-covered San G in the background is spectacular. We used to go to the Studio walk-in movie theater on Baseline, and the Baseline Drive-In theater. They both evidently are gone.

I had fond memories of both Baseline and Mt Vernon Drive Ins. Spent SO many Saturday nights there in our lawn chairs in front of the van parked near the back row (I think in the Back Rows was required - so the tall roof wouldn’t block the view for others). Wouldn’t trade those memories for the world!!

They made United/Linland Vans park on the back two rows, but it was like reserved parking for us. Back doors opened all the way down the aisle.

It makes me sad to see how run down San Bernardino has gotten. I was born and raised in San Bernardino in the Del Rosa area. My father worked at Norton AFB. I graduated from Pacific High School in 73. San Bernardino was an "All American City" back then.

IT'S A GOOD THING THEY DID!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS ONE OF THE PILLAR BLEMISHES OF SAN BERNARDINO. I'M SURE IT MAKES THINGS FEEL LIKE THERE IS A FRESH START IN THE AREA. IT'S ALMOST LIKE A MAJOR CORPORATION CHANGING ITS LOGO AFTER ALMOST GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. WATERING GARDENS EPITOMIZED EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO SAN BERNARDINO IN A NUTSHELL. IT WAS A SYMBOL OF THE PAST EVEN THOUGH THE PAST HASN'T GOTTEN BETTER AND POSSIBLY WORSE.

I remembered Baseline St. when I was a little kid back in 2009. I used to take the OmniTrans to take so many buses to different destinations such as Walmart and other restaurants because we didn't had a car. I had some okay/good/bad memories living on Baseline St. with my grandmother and my brother. I remember everything changed so drastically when stores closed down permanently such as Smart & Final. I did see they demolished 2 thrift stores that were near to each other in 2018 or 2020. It's a good thing I moved out of there in 2015 because it was out of control of fighting and conflict.
