I used to hike so much before i injured my back and neck, now i have to live vicariously through all you young folk explorers. Nothing like the feeling of finding something you've never seen before hiding just around the next corner.
Love the waterfall, and the rock art, but did you notice the folded rocks. The geology of that area must be amazing. Very different from your usual sandstone hikes. Thanks for taking us along!❤
There was a treat for geology buffs in the rocks the pictographs were painted on. It was several geological folds where the layers of rock were folded and bunched up by the unimaginable pressures of the mountains above as the tectonic plates collided in the ancient geological past.
Nice Walk - nice Flowers - nice Landscape - Brilliant View and Waterfall ! The Rock Art is Outstanding - thank You for taking Us! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
I like the contrast of this adventure to your usual treks. It highlights the fact that many tribes occupied these lands & left their mark from the mountains to the valleys: extraordinary 💚 Thank you Jeff 🌻
Thank you for your generous direct support! I’m so glad you enjoyed this adventure! This trail has been a favorite hike of mine for a while and I’m happy to bring something different to you! -Jeff
This is an instant favorite as I live only a few miles up the road. When I can't get out, I love watching your videos, and now you've given me a place nearby that I can share with my kids. Thank you!
This was one of my favorite videos of yours. As a botanist, I am fascinated by the vegetation I see in your videos. The wildlife is a pleasure to see because it is so different from what we have on the East Coast. I loved that you pointed out that you were near the airport, military base and the nearby towns. I am housebound search gmaps to see what areas are like. Not long ago, I researched Ogden, UT because of a plant nursery. I had wondered what the mountains were like. Now I can visualize the area. Looking a still photographs doesn’t do it justice! You pointed out “beautiful Antelope Island.” I looked it up and read some of the history. I will check if you have a video of it. If not, please take your viewers on an adventure there! It has fascinating landscape and the attempt to make it habitable for large families is heartbreaking. I would love to see the gorges that cut up the mountainous area which are populated with wild cherries and elderberries. Thanks for this adventure, Jeff! Well done!
PS. One of the yellow flowers looked like a wild orchid. Does anyone know? I researched Utah orchids: different sources said 16, 21 and 24 varieties grow there. Jeff, you could do a whole trek series on just the orchids. I don’t know how popular they would be but you would definitely have viewership. You should check out what is already online. A series on wildflowers, fruiting trees (and trees in general) and desert plants would get views too. You don’t have to be a botanist to enjoy them. Most of the people I met traveling were hobbyists, not scientists. Same goes for wildlife and birds. If you ever feel like you are running out of trek sites, you can look at your past videos to know what is where to go hunting with a camera. Many of us will follow you anywhere!
Love the newish “Trek Notes”, Jeff…it’s an ‘inclusive touch!’ I’ve also meant to say, the editing is getting crisper! The occasional wild flower shot is beautiful. It is nice to visit a little greener pastures, and the waterfall was great. I can see why that’s a special place for you! Thanks for taking us along!
This was also very interesting! Thank you for sharing this because many of us won’t get the opportunity to go explore it ourselves so you help us learn new and interesting things about these other hard working industrious cultures! 👍🥳😁
favorite site for exploring the southwest. thank you so much for turning back the pages of time. very interesting. my extended family never miss your adventures ❤️
I'm 103 years old and can't get out as much as I used to, so it's wonderful to follow your videos as you visit all the places listed on GJ Hikes and Road Trip Ryan.
I enjoy hiking with you anywhere in the beautiful Southwest. As a retired archaeologist who worked on the Colorado Plateau I do love your trips to the ruins. However, it’s all fun and interesting so do what keeps you enthused and inspired.
May God bless you sevenfold for what you bring to people like me who used to hike and because of age and disabilities, can no longer do this. It's especially nice for those who would otherwise never ever see America's beauty if it weren't for your videos. I am amazed and completely impressed at your stamina and mental drive to climb the things you have or walk in places that you have, looked into (dark) caves like you have; *shudders* lol. Thank you, I really do mean THANK YOU for wanting to bring the natural beauty of America into my livingroom!! I feel like I'm right there with ya - hiking around on the Earth. You are a Blessing to thousands, who pray for your safety with every video watched.
I love the swirly layers in the rocks. Lots of times we see layers but those were so bendy that you could really imagine them being hot and folding over to make the patterns.
Another nice one. You can see erosion has taken some away and it’s sad to imagine that some day they’ll all be gone. Your record of these are now there forever. 👍🏻🏴🇬🇧
I just got in from the local trails myself, found this and clicked lol. Nice way to wind down. I love nature, no matter the scenery. In my state, we boast about being the only state that contains all the diff. ecosystems. And we do! Someplace or thing for everyone, you just gotta get out and DO IT. I notice how bummed I feel to walk inside the house, after being out in nature lol. Really really enjoyed the video!
Really love your videos. I love exploring, especially historic places. I’m north of 70 years old now and I can’t go where you go anymore. Life just hasn’t given me enough time. You have a talent for making videos that make me feel as if I am with you. So I feel as if I can still go exploring too! It’s good you don’t think you have to narrate constantly and I love that. Just hearing you walking and the calming, natural sounds of the outdoors is enough a lot of the time. So thank you young man. You do a great and honorable job. Please keep it up. I have a TH-cam channel for Ham Radio: W5FIV Texas Radio. You can go there and see who I am. All the best, Jim
Thanks for showing us this hike, Jeff! The people of the Salt Lake area enjoy the same good fortune we do here, near Denver: easy access to some really lovely hikes in the surrounding mountains.
Very cool. Did you notice the petrified log in the Indian Baths around 9:28? Sure looks like petrified wood to me. Nice panels and I especially like your petroglyph app. That really brings out a lot. Too bad these sites weren't valued more. They are all part of our history and there were/are people who are still trying to hide what happened to the Indigenous People. I love when I can follow along on Google Earth too. Thanks for taking us along. I'm one of the people who travel through people like you because I can't walk anymore. Just being able to see these places again and new places means a lot to me and I think it does to others too by the comments. Happy travels! 😊
I love all the variety that Utah has to offer. So many different extremes! I am too far away to get there often, yet I’ve been there many times, to many different parts. Thank you for sharing! 🙏
That rock art looks so old! I like to take screenshots of it & then zoom in & really study it. I always wonder what they were trying to draw, what inspired them to make a permanent account of what they either experienced or hoped for.
That’s literally in my backyard and had no idea those were up in the canyon behind me. However, I have heard of ancient Egyptian characters carved in rocks being found in these canyons, that would be a great video if you can find those.
Awesome, brother. Truly appreciate your treks…reminds me of living on the road with my family…looking for pictographs and petroglyphs across the US…happy happy joy joy!
There was a craggy rushing creek in a gulch next to the road to Sonora Pass, I have such romantic memories of (near!) skinny-dipping with my soul-mate. (We were both too old for it...) Thanks for the rushing waters memories...
The rushing water sounds so relaxing and beautiful, Thanks for sharing and taking us on a wonderful adventure
I used to hike so much before i injured my back and neck, now i have to live vicariously through all you young folk explorers. Nothing like the feeling of finding something you've never seen before hiding just around the next corner.
What a beautiful place with flowers, waterfalls & rock Art. So amazing.
The colors in that metamorphic rock with the pictographs is incredible
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. I hope you know how much I appreciate you taking time to film and edit these.
I completely agree!!
Love the waterfall, and the rock art, but did you notice the folded rocks. The geology of that area must be amazing. Very different from your usual sandstone hikes. Thanks for taking us along!❤

I love these videos. I'm stuck in a 100 mile radius of my house and this lets me see other places. So amazing!
May I ask why the 100 miles ?
@@Pure-Luck447parole limitations.
@@Complete.cyclepath Parole? Yikes.
@@Pure-Luck447 my job takes me that far. I don't make enough money to go on vacation anywhere.
2:51 I'm not looking at the waterfall... I'm looking at the best thing to find on a hike....... A CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice! Also, thanks for the flower close-ups... I always enjoy those!
I do too.
you are a breath of fresh air on the internet, its so cool to go hiking with you!
That's awesome that you take us to a place that you came to enjoy ❤ also I love how you're adding the "Trek Notes"!!
Great change up! Loved the short hike. No danger for you. Thanks for filming this.
Nice change of pace, my wife and I enjoy all your presentations and look forward to each and every one.
It's so green and lush. Loved the wildflowers and rocks. Be a great place to go swimming in summer, if there was still any water.
Nice Walk - nice Flowers - nice Landscape - Brilliant View and Waterfall ! The Rock Art is Outstanding - thank You for taking Us! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
More like "Indian Showers". What a gorgeous spot! I love all your outdoor adventures--desert or woodland. 💗
A cool hike! I love that you found these from an old book!
Another great video. Appreciate the variety. Thank you!
That was a sweet little hike. Thanks for sharing. Love all your videos.
I like the contrast of this adventure to your usual treks. It highlights the fact that many tribes occupied these lands & left their mark from the mountains to the valleys: extraordinary 💚

I love your channel! Thank you for sharing!

Love all of your videos! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
This was super cool, being outside of the dessert and seeing the rock art ...and waterfalls never disappoint!
Thanks for sharing!
Sorry desert
The folds and bands in the rock near the rock art is cool too
I lived that adventure, pictographs look interesting too. The indian baths look refreshing. Thanks for taking us with you.

What a beautiful, relaxing view! Man! That’d be a great place for a lawn swing & a good book!
I love the swirly layers in the rocks. Lots of times we see layers but those were so bendy that you could really imagine them being hot and folding over to make the patterns.
I absolutely LOVED this adventure. As always, thank you for sharing!
I’m impressed by the folds in the rock.

I think you'll enjoy it!
I’m in cache valley. I’m headed there this spring for sure!
Loved seeing all the wildflowers especially the yellow orchids..the painting looked like a jack rabbit. Very cool.. Nice area to explore more.
Thanks for showing us this hike, Jeff! The people of the Salt Lake area enjoy the same good fortune we do here, near Denver: easy access to some really lovely hikes in the surrounding mountains.
Nice hike through a beautiful place! Thanks man!😁
Thanks for showing us where you go. It's very beautiful ❤
I love the waterfalls! The rock art is interesting too.
I love all your adventures! Greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱❤️
That big wall with all the pictographs at 7:20 is so amazing

I am SO happy you stopped to enjoy the view.
Realpy beautiful there! Thank yiu for sharing
Very cool. It is basically in my back. It makes me feel awesome. The Femonts were so close to where I've lived for 60 years. Thanks!
Exquisite topography and rock art.
That’s literally in my backyard and had no idea those were up in the canyon behind me.
However, I have heard of ancient Egyptian characters carved in rocks being found in these canyons, that would be a great video if you can find those.
Love the more lush landscape... It's more like I'm used to in our Colorado mountains.
Twas nice to see some greenery in the scenery.
What a special place.. Thank you for sharing..
Right at the start! Wonderful music. ☺
That was fun, Jeff. Yes, very different from your usual haunts but the water was refreshing to absorb, 😂. Thanks!
I loved this adventure! I’m up in Northern Utah and love to see areas that remind me of home. Thank you!
Thanks for a beautiful way to start my day!👍
You have Balsamroots too! Up here in Wenatchee Washington, I do a happy dance every spring when I spot my first balsamroot.
Awesome, brother. Truly appreciate your treks…reminds me of living on the road with my family…looking for pictographs and petroglyphs across the US…happy happy joy joy!
The area of your hike is so similar to areas of North Wales, UK. It especially reminded me of the Aber Falls area. Great video. 👍
Beautiful, informative, brilliant, I enjoyed your video, Thank you 😊
That's a beautiful creek. Thanks!
The folding grain in the bigger rock face is amazing. Makes me wonder what forces created it.
What a beautiful, green trek! I love your usual videos because it's such a contrast to what's around here in Missouri, but this was beautiful!
The rocks were cool that they painted on love the folding going on.
Thanks for taking us along.
lovely trek. thanks for sharing.
I think anything you can do, any walk, any adventure is that little bit of escapism we all crave and follow you for every step of the way…
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL THANK YOU 😊👍🙏>>>💚
I always enjoy your trips. I have never been west. Now I have the money, but too old to climb around, thanks.
Fun adventure! The flowers and pictographs were really beautiful. I think they looked like rabbits. ❤
Beautiful! Reminds me of some trails I've taken around Sedonna, AZ.
Very cool places. Thank you for the video. 🙌💙
