UPDATE 11/24/2024: I am now working on repotting the Astros and found that I had swapped the labels for Uni-Gro and MG Seed Starter+Perlite in Tray #1. So the pots labeled as Uni-Gro are actually MG Seed Starter + Perlite. And the pots labeled as MG seed starter + Perlite are actually Uni-Gro. Keep this in mind as I go through the pots in the video.
You can leave them for 2 more months, but I don't think you will have any more data to change or add to your conclusions. If anything you may confuse the interpretation by going too long in pots with soils that are doing well. It was a great experiment and thank you for the vidoes! I loved watching them and look forward to any new ones.

Very cool! I wish you could do a experiment like this for 100% DIY soil (with peat moss and perlite, coco-peat...) so that those who don't have access to Miracle-Gro and other ready-made soils can also benefit from your experience.
@@ti-nu4ou one good thing is that the commercial soils list their ingredients on the bag and online so you can see the components and get a feel for how it translates to homemade mixes. The world of soil mixes is vast and wide, not only homemade mixes but commercial as well - there are so many more brands that weren't included here. Highly recommend running some experiments of your own mixes!

There are 12 different soil mixes in this experiment. Majority are commercial mixes. I recommend to check out the first episode of this series for details on the first 6 soils, and episode 3 for details on the additional 6 soils. After this experiment, I'll most likely be using Uni-Gro going forward.
50/50 pumice/unigrow is my sweet spot for astrophytum and it’s funny u almost hit it! 75/25 is my adult mix too and yeah just needs a bit more organic. I also add a little osmocote… great videos!!! -@bakersuccs

What ingredients do you use for planting seedlings? Looks like it's growing very beautifully.
