The last meeting I went to, I looked around the room and told Jehovah, if these were the people he chose to fill paradise with, I didn’t want any part of it. All I could see were a bunch of judgmental, hypocritical, petty people.

What makes the EXJW strong is that we have all experienced the same indoctrination. Who other than an EXJW could better understand an EXJW, which is why the EXJW dissidence becomes more numerous each year as the Watchtower empties. Thank you for your participation in this global information drive.

I used to counsel a JW kid. She was so socially awkward. She was 11 yo and her clothing and shoes looked 60. He parents didn't understand how their religion was truly affecting her social and communication skills. She didn't even know how to appropriately engage because she was so judgemental to others. The kids would be kind but she would look at them like heathens. However, to no one's surprise she was really struggling with her own demons, literally.
    Great commentary.

This is 100% accurate! JW young people are very awkward and don’t know how to be regular with other people their age. It’s really sad how it messes them up.

I so relate to this 11 yo girl when I was in. Looking back, my childhood was a total cringe and only wish I could’ve acted normal if I wasn’t in that org. Glad I’m out, but my whole social/communication skills are messed up bc of this cult. She’s probably struggling with her own demons from being so controlled.

LOL. I'm PIMO and they did a Sheparding call on me this Summer. They wanted to talk to me about modesty. I told them what is it about me that's not modest? The brother turned beet red because he couldn't tell me. I don't wear low-cut tops or short dresses or skirts. What they considered not being modest is because I wear named brand clothes, purses, shoes and I own my home and car and I'm single. A single sister is not supposed to have so much. Told me that my eyes were not simple. LOL. I told him I have a job. And I asked him which one of them were going to pay for me to live? These brothers were younger than me, talking about my modesty. 9 times out of 10, their wives were jealous because I outdress them.

Man, I got a good one. This is when social media and touchscreen phones were starting. Many of the older brothers were complaining how the young kids were so stuck on their phone-meetings and social gathering (parties)- and also they wouldn't socialize cuz they were always on their phones. There's was even talks and watchtower studies about this. So the elders were always criticizing in talks and other adults in their comments. So one time there was a watchtower study about distraction and ofcourse the person in the platform just throwing shots after shots. So I raised my hand, I was chosen to comment and said this: "what I've noticed is that many adults keep pointing out these young kids about being distracted by this new technology. But, we have to analyze the root of the problem to understand how to solve it. All these kids don't work, so the question would be: where are these kids getting these advanced phones. All these kids are under age and don't work. So, who's buying them these phones? If we sit down and analyze this the problem would be solved." The whole room got SUPER QUIET. YOU COULD "HEAR" THE AWKWARDNESS 😂😂😂After that elders would look away or avoid giving me a comment.😂😂😂😂😂

My dad did not take the military serious but he would turn the flash lights off and make everybody scared of the bats. He was honorably discharged but my mom has medals from the gulf war.. I have their dog tags and medals at my house.. I think women gravitate to JWs for the structure not necessarily for “religion”

We always sat in the last row, always late, rarely answered, husband wasn’t clean shaven and we left not long after. We were the rebel ones which caused us to wake up especially because the congregation we moved to was dead as hell. White old middle to upper class folks and it was boring as hell. My old congregation was multi cultural, colourful, social and had a bit of life. As a sister you could get away with bright colours, jewellery and have more personality mainly due to it being the tropics and having different ethnic groups. We were really loved because we came from the field and were young. When we moved interstate we were outsiders and weren’t liked. We had far too much personality for them and I pushed against their racist, strict and religious attitudes. I was basically told to tone down by dress and grooming and the same with my husband. He would get soo much shit for him not being clean shaven every so often. I was soo shocked by the complete change and it slowly woke me up. The last assembly we attended this year was the wake up call. We had no idea our congregation was doing a part and we obviously weren’t apart of it. We had been attending and regular for months but they chose to keep it a secret from us. I was done at that point and we stopped going.

It's the accuracy for me. But wait, the mid-week meeting was TORTURE. After getting up early for school or work, being at either one ALL day, come home just long enough to eat and shower and then go to the meeting. We were always 30 minutes early. Sat mid-way by the wall. But as kids if we fell asleep my mom would make us stand in the middle of the aisle like a spectacle and of course the other kids would laugh at us. Way back in the day, the conventions were from Thursday afternoon to Sunday. We'd buy the food tickets to buy food. That was the only time we could fall asleep (after lunch).

Pretty much accurate. 2 things : the reason they don’t have windows is because of theft and break-ins and vandalism. It makes it harder for a vandal to enter the kingdom hall after hours. Unless it has changed I think one thing that wasn’t mentioned is that all JW’s cover the same material from the watchtowers all over the world. The watchtower is translated in all different languages but everyone is covering the same lesson in the watchtower for service on Sundays.
Another thing is the memorial and communion . (I may be incorrect as it’s been over 20 years!) In most churches everyone can take communion unless they for some reason don’t feel worthy to partake. In the JW, from what I remember communion was only observed during the memorial and only the members called to be in heaven with Christ (the 144,000) could partake of communion. I used to try and see if anyone had taken communion by looking for lip smudges on the glass. Never saw one.
Assemblies were long BUT the chairs were comfortable. The food was good.
I’m not sure you mentioned when going over the watchtower lesson they pass microphones around for people in the hall to answer the questions. I’ve never been to another faith like that.
I only went for two years when my closest friend was a JW. She was baptized in the assembly but I didn’t like when sisters had to come like 3 times and it was a like a question and answer that you had to get most questions answered correctly to be baptized. It was just baptism by faith alone. I remememver always saying “accurate knowledge of the truth” so if you didn’t have accurate knowledge of the truth you wasn’t getting baptized at that time. I remember that was the breaking point of me saying it wasn’t the church for me. After that my friend didn’t hang out with me after I said I didn’t agree with the baptism process. In other churches you never had to answer a bunch of questions to see how well you knew scripture as if you had to prove to them you were serious with all your knowledge.
I only needed a statement of faith for baptism when I was baptized in the Protestant church.
I appreciate you both sharing your experience in the church. It’s a definite high demand religion that has so many rules.
My friend is no longer part of the church but I have family that is and it’s lot.
I’m thankful I was never a baptized JW. My mother had a very serious health scare a few years ago and required over 40 units of whole blood product to have any chance of survival. I was the one in charge of life decisions for her. If I was a JW I wouldn’t have signed for her to have blood transfusions and I would have lost my mother.
Your content is very upbeat and engaging and I thank you for it.

Luv you both..too much to add to all you have said. as with all abuse isolation is the usual so each time i witnessed abuse , i believed initially that it was this poisonous
congregation but after seeing more and more in all congregations i came into contact with, i gradually backed away and faded out for the safety of my 4 year old
daughter and myself. when i released the power of the cult over me, and now fully understood that the truth will set us free. i moved completely away from the area
i lived in there and chose to never again be part of another religion after much research, also forbidden. legalism was long done away with by God and we are told in
the new testament that we live by the spirit which is love and the other qualities of the spirit which are truly of God, legalism is of man and has no love within it. this
is a short warning with much more to say but i will state no man-made religion can connect anyone to God and your true spirituality which does not require men and
organisations other than the words of Jesus who clearly stated He did HIS FATHERS WILL . that is the truth not mans religions. be careful out there.. there are many
false teaching, false teachers to lead us away from the only voice we listen to which guides us through Gods spirit within us. with much love to you all.

We actually completely agree with what you said about man made religion. We also no longer identify with any religion at all. At the root a lot of it is the same and so much control is held by imperfect humans who are creating doctrines.

Oh yea, don’t have two single people sitting next to each other, because all eyes are on them. Oh, they dating? Going to get married? Need a chaperone lol? That chaperone stuff can go! I went on a date about 4 years ago, and a sister asked were we goin to get married. What? I didn’t even know the person, and would have to get to know them to then decide IF I wanted to date them. Yep, it’s all messed up.
I remember not studying that WT lesson at times and didn’t want others to see that it wasn’t highlighted. That’s so messed up.

I want to address some of the things you both said in this video. The reason why most kingdom halls don't have windows is to protect from theft. As far as the same material being presented over and over again is concerned, you have to take into consideration that some people may be new to the kingdom hall and need to hear the material; plus, we tend to forget certain pieces of information over time. Women are NOT treated as second-class citizens. As a matter of fact, the women do most of the preaching work. Women are NOT permitted to have leadership roles in the congregation. (1Co. 14:34, 35; 1Ti. 2:12) The Bible condemns tattoos. (Le. 19:28) As far as conventions are concerned, you can get up and stretch your legs or use the restroom in between talks. You're not sitting for seven hours straight. If you find the talks at the convention boring or dull, then the problem is you, not the speakers. Some of the best talks are at conventions; plus, you get to watch dramatizations on the screen. Showing up late to the kingdom hall can be viewed as being spiritually weak because you're not punctual. If you show up late for work, then you could be written up. Time management is extremely important especially if others depend on you or if you're in a leadership position.

The study conductor was laughing as well, and the hall was in uproar for a few minutes. The culprit shrugged his shoulders, he couldn't hold it in.
It wasn't much fun being a jw, life has been far more enjoyable since I left, but that was one of the few meetings where everyone apart from the guy who passed wind had a laugh.

I'm in the search for a new place to live so I can fade quietly and if need be Disassociate myself. I live with a JW's so I know as tolerant as they are, if I left by way of announcement on the platform, the Elders wouldn't waste any time coming and knocking and putting the pressure to kick me out of the house (despite living in a different territory) as part of the ............... No lies being told in this video. The only thing I would say on the WT Study, the organization would counsel (excuse me “encourage”) ppl to comment in their own words, but those words had to be in harmony w/ that paragraph/lesson.
If u brought in add’l research or a scripture that wasn’t cited, u would get counseled for that, too. Sisters were counseled if their comments were deemed as correcting someone or teaching. Then the comments were supposed to be 30 secs or less, so if u made a comment that was long in nature, u would be counseled for that. Lol
The Organization want ppl to comment in their own words, but not using their own thoughts.
