I live outside LA. It's so large and diverse that you could arrange 10 different trips and have 10 different impressions. Everything from a high-end Monaco type experience to theme park tourist and everything in between. There are big differences in suburbs just 10 miles apart, so randomly driving around doesn't really give you a representative experience. Locals know where things are like green spaces, hiking trails, great places to eat, places to hang out etc., but tourists will rarely find them. When I moved to LA in 1984 it took me quite a while to understand this. Since then I've always thought it was better to live here than visit here, despite the huge numbers of tourists that come every year to Southern California. As for the produce, in November most of the produce is flown in from Mexico or South America. California is the biggest producer of many crops in the country due to our long growing season. Having said that, there's widespread consensus among people old enough to remember that vegetables and some fruits don't taste as good as they used to. They've been modified for high crop yields and also to be more durable during transport. Some things, like tomatoes, have lost that delicate flavor they used to have. They're tough enough you could play catch with them, but they don't taste as good. So many Americans share your observation that something was lost and something was gained when it comes to modern produce. Smaller farms and farmers markets often still have vegetables with more flavor. Lots of times they're not as commercially acceptable due to appearance, but they taste better. Any grocer will tell you how difficult it is to sell something that doesn't look perfect, but if you go to a farmers market you might find some gnarly looking tomato that tastes amazing, so it's a tradeoff like most things in life.
You can't really think of America as a country when visiting. It's more like a continent. Each area has it's own culture, music, food, in some cases languages, dialect, accent, and vibe. The geography and landscapes vary greatly The people are diverse and very different from each other. You could travel all over America for the rest of your life and still miss out on quite a bit here.
Hang out in California, Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada in August or on the east coast, midwest, Florida, or the South during a heatwave and you'll understand why we like ice in our drinks.
Be for sure had them when they weren't in season in California and those were imported I am sure. And I live in Michigan lol. But that one that they ate in the video will make them think that's how everything is for the rest of their life😂
I always thought a place like Paris or Rome was the ultimate vacation destination for well, everybody. But I was in Italy a few years back getting Tylenol from a pharmacy. The pharmacist asked to see my ID and I showed her my California ID. She looked stunned and looked up at me and said, "You're from California?.......lucky!"
Also we have almost 133,000 square miles of National parks, 29,063 Square miles of state parks, and countless city parks. There is about 181 city parks in Los Angeles alone. Some are nicer than others. We have just under 13 million square miles of forest and grasslands. Obviously not all of it is accessible to the public. There are lots of green spaces here.
This women sucks 😂 do you know how many green spaces, parks, bike and foot paths wr have here? Trails lakes etc. You went to the most congested city in America. And even la has amazing walking trails and parks, also the vegetables? Go to a farmers market, get them fresh from a natual groceries. Tons of fresh here. Its a agricultural country. Cars...well everything's bigget here.
90% of videos made by Europeans like this when they come to the United States suck because they look at things in their European view and don't put themselves in our situations ever. Some of the stuff that they say is just so stupid it kills me.. We have massive roads and plenty of space! So why that **** would we have tiny little cars to be uncomfortable in for long car rides then? Crap like that 😂

"Don't let the doorknob hit you where the good Lord split you"... She and her family need to stay the f out of my country
As others have said, November is definitely not growing season and probably a lot of stuff is either grown in hot houses or shipped from Mexico. The central valley of California is one of the largest vegetable/citrus, rice, almond growers in the US. We actually ship rice to Japan. We feed half of the US with our vegetable/citrus. (Florida also). To get a good representation next time, drive north and stop at a local fruit/vegetable stand on the side of the road where the farmers have picked it fresh that day. Otherwise, your enthusiasm for the US was nice.
That's exactly what I said and what common sense would think.. But once again they are European and don't realize anything and put themselves in our shoes but say what they say and think it's the truth is pretty funny
The true beauty of America is you can be born in a state where the weather is like Finland but if you don't like it you can move to a place that has weather like Northern Africa and all you need is the money to move. We all speak the same language for the most part and practice fairly similar cultures so it's really not too hard. I feel bad for Canadians sometimes because they're sorta stuck with the snow, but I'm not. I've lived in America's Siberia, but also in California. It's hugely different. If you ever want to come back and visit a somewhat more similar environment to Europe (Culturally and weather-wise), try the Pacific Northwest. People are generally a little more reserved and it's generally more overcast and colder. Seattle is smaller and more compact and they're slowly trying to integrate more public transit. Wandering around the neighborhoods in Seattle can be a lot more relaxing than LA and there's a lot less tourist traps. People are always going to be friendly, but it's nice to experience different parts of "American Culture". Every region has it's little differences. And, as an America, I often get out of my car and go in because the Drive-Through (I refuse to spell it "Thru) is jam-packed. But i pride myself on that and I know I'm an outlier because...otherwise there wouldn't always be a line outside with zero line inside.
I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles and have lived here my whole life. What I saw from your video, you did see typical LA. I'm stumped by some of the comments saying you did not see the real LA. I hope you tried mexican food while here. It is very different from most other cuisines.
The thing about LA is that its so massive you can go 100 times and have 100 diffrent versions of the same place. It's constantly reinventing itself. But the weather, the food, and the people are always a constant 10/10.
Every country baby -- there's actually lots of public transit in LA, like any other major city in the G7. All you have to do is turn on your cell phone and turn on the GPS, and tell it where you want to go, and it will tell which buses to get on. 🙂 I am from the San Francisco Bay Area, and don't know how to drive, and I can get around LA just fine, trust me. 🙂 Vehicle sizes -- starting in 2035, you won't be able to buy a new model-year car in California that is not zero emission, even if it's an SUV. A large SUV isn't hurting the environment if it is battery powered. 🙂 Food -- what you need to do is use the Michelin Star Guide if you want the absolute best restaurant you could possibly visit. There are over 600 Michelin Star restaurants in Los Angeles; considered by the French to meet their standards. As far as bad tasting vegetables, I couldn't tell you. That's a matter of opinion, I suppose. I have eaten salads assembled in Europe and flown out here, and didn't notice any particular advantage. 🙂
THIS. I use public transit pretty frequently in the US. Is it perfect? No. Does it have its limitations? Yes. Is it still a good viable option? Very much so.
It’s very common for American families to have three or more cars. Seeking to change that lifestyle is similar to an American asking Europeans to give up their trains
Our "green spaces" are inside our suburbs. They are called "front yards" and "back yards." Also you will usually have a selection of about 5 city parks within a 30 minute walk from your house. If 30 minutes of walking is too much for you, you will probably die young. Get out there and walk, girl. Exercise that aorta.

LA has some areas that are very walkable. Echo Park, Highland Park, Downtown LA, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Long Beach etc. But the spaces in-between those places are not.
Who the hell would want to walk to the other end of Los Angeles? No one because it's just way too damn far these Europeans are just stupid with some of the ways that they think it's just the truth but they call us stupid😂
Those two cities are every but as American as any other cities in this country. Get off your goofy political nonsense. US is not landlocked like European countries and allows us to spread out. FWIW, there are tons of town/city parks, trails, and even federal and state parks for places to walk, hike, or ride bikes. Land wise, the majority of America is rural. I suggest exploring America via road trips through various states, if you have the time and $. Each state and its regions are known for various foods, which are typically fantastic and yummy! As for LA food being plastic 🤣 you're dining in highly commercial establishments and not hobnobbing with the locals. Talk to local people and find out where they eat - that's where the good food is served. That will give you the food gems of mom and pop diners, restaurants and even independently-owned coffee shops for the real culture and food. Just sayin'. BTW, your video is cute and Apollo is adorable, like a Greek god baby should be. 👶Have fun traveling!
For some reason you Europeans don't get it with our big vehicles and I just don't understand how?.. why would I want to sit in a tiny vehicle when I have to drive for an hour to work and an hour back just to get home? Or why would I want to sit in a tiny vehicle if I have to drive across the whole entire country? Or even across a state? Because that's the reality of being an American. I don't know why it's so hard to understand this either? 🤷♂️🤦♂️I'm 6'6 tall.. So why would I want to be in a tiny little vehicle that is very uncomfortable and I could barely fit in being as tall as I am? We have massive roads because the country is massive.. So it would be stupid to have tiny cars with no space That's why we have big cars because it's comfortable.. INSANE STUFF RIGHT!? 🤯 This kind of stuff kills me because Americans are constantly being told by Europeans that we are stupid when hearing stuff like this just makes it seem like it's the other way around 🤷♂️
American vegetables do not taste like plastic and you only went to Los Angeles, when the United States is thousands and thousands of miles and it's like 50 countries in one. The United States grows some of the most incredible vegetables in the world and they are shipped all over the world. United States grows high quality vegetables fruits and nuts that are shipped all over the entire world.
Also I don't think the vegetables over there in California where in season and probably came from somewhere else because they have great stuff there. But going to Los Angeles and acting like that is everywhere in the United States is also crazy to us Americans.. Europeans no matter how many times they are told just don't understand how big the United States is and seem to forget constantly.. I also don't know why the hell you guys would wait in a Starbucks line that that is that long? I would have gone inside like plenty of other Americans do. Also Americans walk plenty of places all of the time I see it everywhere I go.. do you understand that plenty of people don't even have a vehicle? And were you going to walk to the other side of Los Angeles? 😂 You not understand how big it is again? It would take you hours and hours and hours to get where you need to go if you have to walk. If they built a city for people walking the city would be so big to begin with it would take too long to get to the other side by walking? 🤦♂️ I just can't with some of these videos made by Europeans.. 😂 You guys don't put yourselves in our positions ever and you just don't use common sense but say we are stupid? And then you guys are brainwashed by other videos you've seen just like the one you've made.. This will make other Europeans believe things that aren't even true 😂 sigh..
The reason our vegetables taste like plastic is you are actually eating vegetables that were grown in South America. They are picked about 4 weeks before they are ripe so that they will be ready when they finally hit the store shelves. How did you think we can offer fresh fruits in January? Obviously, in January they will not be the same as in late summer. But at least they are available. On the other hand, if you go to a farmer's market in season you can buy vegetables there that taste the same as Europe. My advice is to bury your salad in our myriads of different salad dressings. That will fix it. Just kidding. Buy frozen vegetables in the freezer section. You will find them much fresher.
This is the third comment I'm saying this on and that's exactly what I said in mine. They don't realize this somehow and think what they are having is like everywhere else in the United States too It just is so stupid the way they think.
Why would everything not be made for cars when everybody drives cars. Europe was made for horse and buggy and that is why they have so many problems with roads and everybody has to drive around in little tiny vehicles😂😂😂
@@dudoklasovity2093 nah man everyone needs a truck. For moving, for work, to move debris. Every generation in my family had a truck it’s saved them time and injury trucks are vital in rural Texas. Rural anywhere actually. If we didn’t have roads we’d have alot of more trucks in America no doubt. I think I got beef with cars 😂
@@dudoklasovity2093 no the oil man has nothing to do with it. They 100% require cars in areas where people own any amount of land around their property.
Exactly. It kills me when Europeans say we have massive vehicles But take a damn look at our roads! The United States is massive so there is a massive amount of room... So why the hell would we have tiny roads and tiny cars like them? And why would we want tiny vehicles going on hour long rides to work or across our own states or across the country? I am very very tall I could never fit in their tiny little vehicles. We need room for as long as we need to be in our vehicles because it takes a long time to get where we need to go. And they keep telling us that we are stupid all the time.. 😂
I've lived in L.A. my whole life (except during my military service) and I HATE IT!!!! Loud, dirty, dangerous, homeless. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Maybe I shouldn't be as down on my hometown as I am. Still, when I retire, I'm getting the hell out.
She’s referring to green spaces that are near your home. As a Californian, I agree. I think that our cities need to be redesigned to be both human friendly and walking friendly.
@@douglehenbauer3658 The people in the USA actively prioritizes their space rather than almost all European countries where everything is built directly on top of each other which leads to items being so spaced out from one another. You actually know nothing about vegetables in the United states. And the United States is like one of the biggest Growers of vegetables in the world. And millions and millions of Americans grow their own vegetables organically. You can't come to a huge country like the United States and go to one little area and then think you're some sort of expert.

I happen to think the food in Greece is disgusting. You eat a lot of sardines and squid and octopus. I have watched many videos of food in southern Europe including Greece and out of all the food I've seen in videos from Greece I would say maybe two things looked good. You eat baby fish heads😂😂😂
The vegetables you experienced were likely from Mexico and picked for appearance rather than taste and ripeness. California Democrats have a fetish for denying local farmers the water they need to provide local produce that can be delivered at it's peak.

INSANE STUFF RIGHT!? 🤯 This kind of stuff kills me because Americans are constantly being told by Europeans that we are stupid when hearing stuff like this just makes it seem like it's the other way around 🤷♂️
Eating a crayon, that kid will be a US Marine. They love to eat crayons
Exactly, and California grows the most. She needs to eat produce that is actually in season.
Nice choice of car, but Atlanta Braves hat needs to go, as we Angelenos love the Dodgers.
Newport Beach is awesome
Newport Beach is not Los Angeles, so they didn't quite get the full shithole experience that we offer.
@@VandyMan84LA exactly. That’s why I live in Newport Beach.
Unless you live in a big city with lots of public transportation. You 100% need a car here in the state's
Hallelujah ❤Target 🎯🎯🎯☝️👏👏👏👏👍welcome to 🇺🇸😎
I can't tell, is she from Greece originally?
I can tell that pancake house used to be an IHOP.
And it's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
The United States is a massive country so walking is not realistic in many cases.
It's almost like this woman has never seen a map of the entire u.s.
Why would everything not be made for cars when everybody drives cars. Europe was made for horse and buggy and that is why they have so many problems with roads and everybody has to drive around in little tiny vehicles😂😂😂
We did get lucky with the autobahn road system tho if we didn’t have that as inspiration it woulda been a mess
why everybody drive cars? because the oil man needs his $$$ You got ripped off without a gun having the infrastructure you allowed to be built…
It is strictly because nearly everyone in the USA actively prioritizes their space rather than almost all European countries where everything is built directly on top of each other. Also as a person who has been to both the areas that are not built in such close proximity are not walking friendly when in relation to shops and groceries.
America has the most delicious food in the world. You already went to Los Angeles
Did you notice that none of the stuff you hate appears in this video?
Try Chicago. A great place to visit- in warm weather!
I am a never target American. Come to Friday Harbor Washington, no car needed.
What are you talking about Green spaces the United States has thousands of miles of wilderness😂😂😂
I hope you tried In-N-Out Burger, and some Mexican food while you were here.
Excuse me where are u from?
There's a reason, there is a Greek salad and not an American salad, we aren't a country of vegetable lovers.
We could take over your entire home country so watch what u say and be respectful! Hope you enjoy your visit. America 🇺🇸 #1!
Thats right! USA baby!!! USA USA USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 🦅🦅🦅‼‼
@AlexanderWinterborn it's a threat, the US hasn't invaded anyone
um...food in Greece is completely UNDERWHELMING.
U some sort of Irish people guys? The man's accent sounds very manacing. I love the video! and I give you a thumbs up
Tudor is from NZ and I am Greek
Only have real maple syrup

You can eat at Waffle House 24/7
She sounds a bit nuts. Won't be watching her anymore!
The food from Greece is underwhelming. Also Greece is like a super high poverty and that's why millions of Greeks have moved to the United States😂😂😂
You actually know nothing about vegetables in the United states. And the United States is like one of the biggest Growers of vegetables in the world. And millions and millions of Americans grow their own vegetables organically. You can't come to a huge country like the United States and go to one little area and then think you're some sort of expert.
Why are you spamming comments on this page, if you have nothing of value to add to the conversation? She's entitled to her opinion. Don't like it? Cool, jog on. You give the rest of us Americans a bad name by crapping all over anything that isn't jingoistic pro-USA bullshit.
@@mikelafaille She is entitled to her opinion, however ignorant it may be. And commenters are entitled to THEIR opinion. Goes both ways.
@@mikelafaillehis comment does add value. Our country is huge and we grow a lot of organic vegetables. She criticized a vast agricultural country about our vegetables after showing us that she bought berries in the fall. She should try foods that are in season then talk.
@@robynaboverubiesorpearls This is one of EIGHT inane comments that added nothing to the conversation, other than vitriol. Since when is big not better. Maybe your boyfriend is Tiny😂😂😂
Oh don't drink the cheap water
This was a pretty poor representation of Los Angeles
Completely agree!
I happen to think the food in Greece is disgusting. You eat a lot of sardines and squid and octopus. I have watched many videos of food in southern Europe including Greece and out of all the food I've seen in videos from Greece I would say maybe two things looked good. You eat baby fish heads😂😂😂
Everybody in America is nice cause the economy is nice and good living ?
Partly. But it is also because the Holy Spirit resides in our hearts and in our nation.
The vegetables you experienced were likely from Mexico and picked for appearance rather than taste and ripeness. California Democrats have a fetish for denying local farmers the water they need to provide local produce that can be delivered at it's peak.
On behalf of all americans, I apologize. Our country is messed up in so many ways. Its beautiful, people are nice, but we have messed up the food and the dimensions of a city due to the car dynamics.
Move to Europe if you don’t like cars.
@@Casey28027 Chill bro
Don't apologize for me. I suppose all of us americans should just ride on horse and buggy or take bicycles to our jobs 20 miles away.
Just an fyi where you were in LA is not LA and its certainly not a big red representation of america. Its a Very very very very very small little piece of america. Is your husband american?
It was in Costa Mesa/newport beach ca. 30 miles south of Los Angeles. I just don’t think she realized she was in a rich suburb of a 20 million people metro area.
