Exploring Gila Cliff Dwellings and Hot Spring in New Mexico - EP. 229

- For thousands of years, groups of nomads used Gila Cliff Dwellings as shelter. They built rooms, crafted pottery, and raised their children in that cave. It's truly a must-see sight when you're in New Mexico. And just down the road from the Dwellings is a magical Gila Hot Springs Campground that can't be missed, either!

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: gogetfunding.c...

Augie's bus is New Mexico as I remember it. When I was eight I sat next to a Navajo boy who drew, in pencil, horses that surpassed the best in art museums.
What an awesome place. Cliff dwellings, hot springs, Augie, and great hair.
Safe travels and see you in the next one.
Thank you 😊
Never would have seen the cliff dwellings,if not for you going there...Thank you, fine lady.
WHAT AN AMAZING ADVENTURE! THE SCENERY AROUND STUNNING! 👍👍👍
Great episode Kinga, awesome cave dwellings.
We use those blankets to keep people warm with an accident.
Great stuff and they don’t take that much space! 👍🏼👊🏼💪🏼👌🏼🤩
Hair is looking Awesome Kinga..... You meet the nicest People.... Maybe it is because you are so wonderful??? :-)) xxx
Augie is a lovely bloke ,I bet he has lots of interesting stories to tell.
M amazed what a place...you vlog for me is so refreshing and very raw ...very original..love ur simplicity...love the way u are and m glad u r so filtered and calm person
Very beautiful. As cold as it was you warmed it up with your presence.💙
There are lots of other cliff dwellings around the 4 corners (Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico) which would be worth checking out if you get a chance. They were built by the Anasazi around the same time. Really enjoy your videos, they are very real, camping, staying in budget accommodation occasionally. They remind me of my bike trip across Canada and Alaska last year
Sitting in the hot spring looked very relaxing Kinga...I'm sure you needed that after all that walking! 👍
Stunning place to stop
Envious ✌️
Hi Kinga, what an amazing place you were at on this episode those cave dwellings were just magical, and you are truly blessed with the people you meet on your travels, the gentleman who lives on that converted school bus was so well sorted with the hot springs providing free heat, and he seemed a kind gentle soul to get to know. Thank you.
Ive been exploring the four corners areas since 1989. It is captivating, so many First Nation sites of interest. Two i have visited being in NM are Acoma Sky City just South of I 40 and Chaco Canyon further North, built by the Anasazi in appro 1000 ad. Its remote but on a dirt road, there is a campsite there too. Huge stone buildings, several storys high that housed many people. They all vacated for unknown reasons( thought to be severe drought) in 1300. This is one of your very best videos Kinga, thankyou. I have a passion for this area.
Thank you 😊
New Mexico is an awesome state to ride....lots of Backcountry routes....if u went north from Lake Roberts to Wall Lake and then west to Snow Lake and doen thru Mogollon, u have a 120 miles of gorgeous high country backroads....i rode that for years....
Wow!! That was a very interesting hot spring. It reminded me of your visit to the hot springs in Namibia. Enjoy your journey. Regards from Cape Town.
So nice of you to visit our beautiful town of Silver City . 😊 Hope you come back.
Ok 👏🎉 kinga
the cliff dwellings were amazing Kinga! Augie's bus too.
As you were talking about survival blanket as thermo barrier under your sleeping pad I remembered I have had one sitting on my work bench since forever, wondering what use it could ever be? It is now in my tent kit to use the way you did. Lets see if it works for me as it did for you! Thanks for the tip. 🇨🇦 I went back an looked at your bio on web site. Can’t believe my wife and were following your travels since before 2017! I remember your big accident. Did not realize how much that impacted your life. Glad to see you have mended well physically and mentally. Ride on.
Kinga...Another impressive vid.....Augie....was so cool......and you could just sense the overall spiritually of the hot springs camping area.....continuing to enjoy all your vids...and motivating me to travel more....
I love to see some culture on my travels. Only riding is not enough. Because trails, bends, passes are about the same everywhere. People and their culture make the difference between regions. Thanks for taking us along, Günter/Nürnberg
Thanks for watching 😊
What a great episode, what wonderful memories you are making. I envy your youth, this is something I always wanted to do but never got started until I was already in my 60's. Trying to get the time and nerve to do a trip from Texas to California to ride the Pacific Coast Highway all the way to Canada.
Oh cool you did get in to the gila!! Yay
I camped at Gila C.D. about two weeks after you did. Beautiful area but I will have to go back to try the hot springs! The round holes in the walls of the cliff dwellings are "casts" from timber that used to be there. Sometimes they rot or fall out over time. The ride to Silver City is unique.Thx!
F. Y. I - especially in the US, I think when traveling through small towns that are unique, you need to read the sign as you approach and share with your audience the name of the town for future travelers to know. I know that town, I've traveled it many times it is a magical place in New Mexico to travel that route! The best part is to come in the next sequence when you ride from Gila Cliff Dwellings / Campbell Store down to Silver City through those 120 some turns of absolute Bliss! Sadly, the GoPro is never ever going to capture the Steep ass climb that you have to take to get out of the bowl down there near Gila Hot Springs & the Gila river to get back up on the ridge! What a climb!! I call it the "shit & git" trail. Woe be to anybody with bad brakescoming down in! Pleased to see you dropped in on one of my favorite places in all of New Mexico and enjoyed it as immensely as I do! Love those campgrounds & the people you meet within!
👍 Nice cliff dwellings.
Yes, to visit (and make video, please) those interesting places you need to walk more.
Get that rim with the leaking spokes fixed properly! Before your compressor is going to wear out.
I really like your hair style
I have that same liner. It's excellent
Great video thank you very well done v
Love kinga ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍
You looked so relaxed in the HotSpring 😴AWESOME MORNING HAIR 🥰
Harikasın👏👏👏👏
Kinga pretty cool as you there is a place in Colorado Mesa Verde Pueblo people lived in the cliffs too wishing you a fun time there peace &👍🤗 joy safe travels.
This is just great You are a risiing star on the road .The utube star Ichy Boats have been famous because her personality and her description of the location she is visiting you are on the same direction and a little bit funnier.Lets go girl 🌹🌹🌹
Saya sangat suka dgn kegiatan touring anda semoga sukses selalu ❤️🙏👍
Space blanket i use four years they reflect a lot,but when tell people to try the look at me like i m crazy 😂
Where did you get a space blanket? 😃
Love kinga beautiful 🌹🌹🌹🌹👍👍❤❤❤❤
Zajebiście 👍
as always - nice job and video. I enjoyed it
I only recently found out that First Nations lived in caves built in the clay cliffs where I grew up in central British Columbia. It's a semi-arid region, so the temperature in the summer would be in the mid 30's Celsius.
😊
very nice video and such interesting people i`m going for a ride by myself on my bmw r 1200 gsa see you later
❤❤❤
P.s. 2 pytanie osobiste i niegrzeczne. Czy te nagrania są dla Ciebie również jakąś formą psychoterapii?
p.s.3 Augie looks more like a native American 🤭🤭🤭
Robię filmy bo lubię... tak poprostu.
Will you be making your way to Vancouver Island Kinga?
A dream it was a dream pump up your tires now
👏🏻
The blue bus is calling us. Driver, where you taking us ?
You must come to Greece
Piękna jesteś
👍
How many bikes have you used in 229 episodes?
Only one. Chillie has been with me since the beginning.
Did you edit out all of the crowds of people?
May be empty in March!
What is the name of Augie's place?
👍🏼🇺🇸
They left because it was to far to the nearest Walmart. That's my theory. 🤔
as a former area resident; its pronounced Mug E Own...
✌🏽❤🙏🏽
Kinga...Do a video with no makeup...Your so beautifull!🥰
👍nice🛵
👍👍🇲🇦🇲🇦👍👍

Moenster 😂
It’s really sad to watch all the you tube videos on the Gila Cliff Dwellings. All of these creators are pronouncing the names wrong and are spreading misinformation
You should let your dark hair grow out.
Nah...
It's amazing how many pheromones you have.
