1990’s ORBIT 12” BIG BODY FAN - Kipas Angin Meja Jadul

Older fans always catch my attention more, especially with their different styles and colors, and even the quirky slogans they have, like this ORBIT K4, which is known as the "BIG BODY FAN."
It's cool to see how big and sturdy things were in the '90s, even something like a fan. You could say there was a sense of prestige and value in having something big and heavy. Maybe that’s why ORBIT came up with this fun slogan, which honestly made me fall in love with the fan. The ORBIT brand was apparently one of the sub-brands of Cosmos/Mila, which faded out in the early 2000s.
The design is typical of cheaper fans from the late '80s or early '90s. The body is still big, the stickers are simple and not shiny anymore, and the grill is still heavy and held together with clips. Unlike others, though, it doesn’t have a chrome finish, but it’s still pretty solid and heavy. The design kind of reminds me of the SEKAI DFN-1205, and the grill is similar to the SEKAI 12” fans from the '90s. The blade shape is also unique and rare, a bit like the Egyptian 16” Toshiba fan. Fans from that time often had four blades, and this design was also used by brands like SMART and Sapporo, in all sorts of colors.
Even though it was considered a budget fan, this one came with a 3-way oscillation feature, and the gearbox is pretty similar to Matsushita's, making the oscillation more stable and smooth. What’s unique is that the oscillator plate is plastic, while most fans used metal or steel for that part.
In terms of performance, it’s pretty solid for its class. The oscillation is slower than most standard fans, the wind reaches far and feels even, and it makes this soothing white noise that’s really calming. The motor runs smoothly, even before I oiled it. The only downside is that the front of the motor isn’t well-ventilated, so it tends to get hot if you use it for too long.
All in all, I’m super happy with this fan. The blue color is really calming to me, and it fits perfectly in any bedroom.

Totalitas unik sih ini, dari penamaan ‘BIG BODY FAN’, daun blade 4, grille ala National, semakin lama diliatin semakin tertarik hahaha

Bukan cuma grillnya doang sih, spinnernya juga ala National zamannya F-ES407 sampai F-ES400 kalau ngeliat video unboxingnya kemarin
