from Monty Python's Flying Circus Season 1 - Episode 06 The BBC Entry To The Zinc Stoat Of Budapest Recorded 05-11-69, Aired 23-11-69 I'm slowly uploading the entire Flying Circus series... Got any requests?
A tip from an experienced robber: If you want to make sure the victim stays silent then tell them they can keep the money left over (in the event that you payed with a sum that was larger than the value of the object).
too successful if you ask me. i think we should decriminalize decriminalized robberies. see how much decriminalized crime rates will raise other crimes rates!
@@EchoesfromtheCosmos Yes, and perhaps in some sense in terms of amount as well? Although I feel very unqualified to present these suggestions as I'm not a professor of numbers.
@@daemonCaptrix Maybe in Europe, where you better have a license to be in public in the first place. I guarantee you that you can do it in the US. You might be asked to leave (which would then make you trespassing, but until that point I don't think it would be illegal.
None of us watching noticed that the big elaborate plan was perfectly legal, even thought it clearly was. This shows how the theme and trappings of a situation guide people to judge it.
When Michael throws things (or people), he's got pretty good power, don't 'e? Terry really did have to stop himself from going backwards at 1:43! I like how his energy is (usually) effortlessly centered when he's acting.
I think there's a law governing how long you can play it it was certainly less than ten seconds so they were okay but anymore and they would've had to pay licensing.

As great as this already is, my favorite part about it is how Graham and John’s characters don’t do anything (aside from Cleese’s aggressive slamming the table). If Michael Terry and Eric get all the lines for the sketch, why are those 2 even here? I’ll tell you why, moral support silent bodies. My eyes are glued to them every single time in addition to laughing at the lines said by the speaking performers. XD
@348joey aagh!!! " british" was a roman deceit. it's ..........bleeding english. ( i'm not serious, though) you are right, some of it is hard for me; and i'm ONE yorkie !. it's supposed to be ( wide boy ) cockney. as an accent, it fails; but i like the idea.
Gee! How great it is to make a hierarchy out of worlds' cultures of humour. I vote for Danish! Wouaw, c'est génial de faire un classement des meilleurs humours du monde. Je vote pour les Danois.
If there were fewer robbers, there wouldn't be so many of them, numerically speaking.
Wise words.
It's thinking like that which leads to absolutely so little that one could say the amount is almost naught.
yes very wise
Mock it all you want, but you've got to admit this kind of robbery has quite a high success rate.
True

Mother fucker that's call a job!

John Cleese's slamming the desk at the parking meter is one of the best and most believable things ever
"If there were fewer robbers, there wouldn't be so many of them - numerically speaking."
The man does have a point.
And, as such, there wouldn't be as many of them. Now, I might be overreaching here, but wouldn't that mean that their quantity would be lower?
@@miikavihersaari3104 The number in terms of quantity, you mean? I'm not an expert but it makes sense to my layman mind.
@@EchoesfromtheCosmos Yes, and perhaps in some sense in terms of amount as well? Although I feel very unqualified to present these suggestions as I'm not a professor of numbers.
@@miikavihersaari3104 While were at it, if we make it so nothing is illegal, there will be no more crime.
It's rude to point.
The way Michael Palin says, "They wouldn't give it to us if we didn't pay for it, would they?" is fucking amazing. He genuinely sounds so baffled 😂
If only all robbers were this polite and conscientious!
Well they can't, it's illegal.
Isaac Kim Well, I think being illegal makes it more exciting!
Todd Victorson If they want to go straight, might as well a vicar or something.
Isaac Kim Oh no, I think the parking meter is overdue. I better leave the country.
Todd Victorson Haha.
this sketch stole my heart... by paying full price for it
Now I know what to do in Payday 2. Thanks Monty Python.
Inkeldink a
"I think sexual ecstasy is overrated." LOL
I love this show.
1:15 Terry Jones almost loses it when delivering that line :D Smiling and almost busting out laughing
One day I want to go to the watch store dressed as a robber and take a watch after paying for it, of course.
It's illegal to dress as a robber in public. (Assuming you dress in a way that people will recognize as a robber)
daemonCaptrix what country do you live in
@@daemonCaptrix what really
@@schoolsout901 The planet Earth

This explains the psychology of the criminal mind.
BURMA!
John Bong Joey
Why'd you say Burma then?
IOwnTheSpire That's what I am thinking.
I think he panicked
Isaac Kim Only very strange ones
Terry Jones nearly cracks up when he says
“why are we paying for the watch”
Brilliant!
...We like dressing up, yes...
"Well, why are we paying for the watch?"
"They wouldn't give it to us if we didn't pay for it, would they?!"
"its the uniform that puts them off... that and my bad breath."
LOL he is my favorite comedian from monty python
We like dressing up, yes. Bloody brilliant :-D
I love the vicar bit. Terry Jones is absolutely priceless. :D
"I can't blow up the building, it's illegal!" "Oh, bloody hell." XD
What if they bought the building
Still amazing after all these years
None of us watching noticed that the big elaborate plan was perfectly legal, even thought it clearly was. This shows how the theme and trappings of a situation guide people to judge it.
"And now for something completely different" in best John Cleese voice 😮
3:34 Sums up the entire Monty Python series in just a few words.
The first few lines are essentially what happens when introverts have to go somewhere they don't really want to
When Michael throws things (or people), he's got pretty good power, don't 'e? Terry really did have to stop himself from going backwards at 1:43!

Hello there - opening bars to From Russia with Love...
Glad im not the only one to notice
I love this!
That's actually badass that they got the rights to the From Russia With Love music.
I think there's a law governing how long you can play it it was certainly less than ten seconds so they were okay but anymore and they would've had to pay licensing.
some day i'd love to get some friends together and elaborately plan a regular trip to the store like this, full suits and trilby hats included
rofl, i like how they almost laughed and broke character
I love the way Cleese slams the table!
Dramatic.
"We like dressing up, yes" should be a Tik-Tok clip.
How it feels! Going... to the store! With... anxiety!

"Why are we payin' for the watch?!"
"They wouldn't give it to us if we weren't payin' for it, now would they!!" LOL!!
"I agree, if there were fewer robbers, there wouldn't be so many of them numerically speaking."
For a good laugh, turn on closed captioning:)
+Philip McNiel For a better laugh, leave closed captioning off and just watch the sketch. I've heard the blokes in it are pretty funny.
+Tjimi Cole The closed Captioning is dead wrong though.

This is me if I were to ever become a criminal. Non-illegal robberies XD
That was quite good.
