The definition of the market environment as per the Grade 10 learner book is: The market environment refers to the immediate external components that
directly affect the ability of the business to operate. For the business to be
successful it must be able to influence the components in this environment.
I would say that the definition you used is correct although I'd add to that and mention that customers, suppliers and competition exist in the market.
