Out of context but, how cool would be a Cassandra skincare line named “Skintellectual” and on each product there’s a list of tips on how to get the most out of your products and how to use them properly, like “apply moisturizer or hand cream on damp skin” and stuff like that😍😍😍

I was shocked when I watched Jen's(luv) video and she showed documents where it stated that price of Jaclyn's lipsticks(just the lipstick, not the bullet or packaging...idk what's it called exactly) was 0,98 cents(something like that, less than $1). And the retail price was, if I remember correctly, ~$28!?!
    It's insane!!!

You know, it’s sounding more and more like Forma wanted to cut ties with the “influencers” they had on the books and the influencers were saying “No. Why? I get paid $200,000 a month to sit here and occasionally stir up drama and launch a product. Why would I want to stop that?” Eventually, Forma said “Okay. We’ll handle this in court.” And, because you know JH is too busy buying purses, she didn’t take a minute to hire a lawyer who would have said that Chapter 11 would be a way for Forma to get out of those previous contracts and the only way to have a new contract with Forma or any of the under brands is to negotiate a new one. And good luck with that, influencers.

Pandemic or not, the bubble was going to pop eventually for the beauty industry. I’ve been a licensed professional in cosmetics retail for years and by 2018 it was clear to me that consumers fatigue was slowly setting in and this exponential growth wasn’t sustainable. I think it’s ridiculous that these ‘business moguls’ were so blind sighted by the change in consumption, it’s business/marketing 101.

The business side of things isn't what's strange to me. What's strange to me is how gullible, ignorant, and easily scammed people are. These beauty gurus are making SO much money and didn't really even have to invent anything. How many colors are in there to put on your face, really? It's not like they were inventing never before seen colors. Yet people are really out here with 3, 6, 10+ makeup palletes! Like, how many are you really using? What's wrong with the ones you had? Why would you even buy things from influencers who usually don't know ANYTHING about formulas and stuff even if they are good at applying makeup? It's all very dumb.

Thanks for the video, Cassandra! I really enjoy the content that results when you put on your investigative journalist hat!
I wasn't aware that Morphe had ever opened up retail stores. I was only aware of them as a brand with a big display at Ulta. I've also never bought any of their products. I usually don't buy palettes because I don't think they're the best value for me.
Everybody, Cassandra is making an excellent point here about the insane markups on skincare and makeup. This is why we all need to understand that on the whole, expensive products have the same ingredients and formulations as cheaper ones. The expensive ones just have bigger marketing budgets to build and maintain their brands. There is NO justification for ridiculously high prices. (La Mer, I'm looking at YOU!)

As a Bankruptcy Paralegal, I would like to provide you feedback and information when restructuring in Chapter 11. Restructuring in CH 11 happens 2 ways: (a) reorganize through a Plan of Reorganization either with your capital or requesting a loan, called DIP Financing; or (b) propose a Liquidating Plan where a Debtor proposes to liquidate (sell) most of its assets or all of its assets. So yes, a Chapter 11 Debtor can liquidate its assets. Also, by law, a Debtor cannot bypass everything in bankruptcy but that’s a whole different topic because the law is changing and there have been recent rulings, for example, allowing discharging your student loans, when that is a debt that was not dischargeable under the Bankruptcy Code (similar to taxes that have to be paid). Lots of love from PR ❤

There was a time in the pandemic where I purged the drama of beauty influencers bc it got old… I think that the skincare industry has blossomed bc we care to use less in a sense. I think a good chunk of the population has no interest in the art of makeup but it was pushed down our throat for so long. I and a lot of the people around me just want healthy skin and a healthy body and mind. And if you are into the art of makeup- keep doing it! I love watching but don’t have an interest in doing. And can we talk about Sephora’s horrible return policy? I returned a face cream my skin didn’t react well to at the 29th day with receipt. They told me I was only eligible for an exchange. Watch Jen Luv. I believe she discusses R.E.M. Beauty’s relationship with Forma Brands/Morphe. Essentially from what I remember, Forma wasn’t responsible for REM’s products or quality. Forma would be handling advertisement and getting the brand’s name out there. This makes sense when thinking about R.E.M. appearing in Morphe stores. Ariana Grande, or her brand, paid I think about $15 million to get out of that contract and get her product out of its connection to Morphe/Forma. I agree with you, though. Good decision by Ariana/R.E.M.

With exception to yourself and Dr Dre I don’t listen to “influencers” about anything at all in fact they tend to turn me off of brands.

Thank you for your videos! I followed your advice and bought a ton of Kbeauty products and I’m so happy with all of them!
I have a question, do you have any advice/ recommendations for surgical scars? I had 5 surgeries in my left hand and forearm the last 10 months and as a result I have a very long scar from my elbow all the way down to my knuckles. Please help 😂

i really only used morphe after jaclyn hill collaborated. the only palette i had in their own quality was the 35F. beautiful shimmers but horrible mattes, their quality definitely had improved with jaclyn’s direction😢 so nostalgic but sad

Hi Cassandra, you're videos are so well made and informative! I love to hear your opinion on skincare. I got a Video question - could you maybe make a video about how to get up with a routine and products if you're new to skincare? I would love to do more for my face, but I cant even tell which skin type I am or which products are necessary for a "normal" beauty routine (antiaging and in general for a soft, shiny face). I love your videos, but I kinda dont know where to start at all. I would really appreciate it, if you would give us a little guide how to start in a good skincare routine and which steps or products are needed😇

Couldn’t agree more about that blue light bs they tried to get Valkyrae behind. Applaud Valkyrae for standing up to fake science, not turning away from it and allowing an audience to be used.

Speaking of make-up brushes, do you know any make-up artists who you can partner with on what brushes are actually good and the best ways/ products to clean them since nasty, dirty brushes will impact someone's skin?

Morphe and crown beauty in the UK are the exact same down to the packaging and even the brushes the crown products are amazingly better.

I've been watching Brannigan Robertson's channel a lot recently. He is an employment lawyer in CA, I found out I had a lot of misunderstandings about what the term "at will" meant in regards to employment. A lot of the people working in Morphe stores that closed probably will have legal recourse.

I was never a potential customer as I prefer quality over quantity and do not buy items produced in China. To me it was quite obvious that influencers do not love but sell the product. TH-cam felt (and feels still) sometimes like teleshopping. Those silly codes!
And you are right, retail is hard. And those influencers might be big on youtube but in the real world where ordinary people are shocked when they see Jeffrey Star (happened in Vienna where I live) .. they are not relevant or helpful. Their can't sustain a global brand. And there is the quality issue: in an actual shop where you can touch and swatch the product the lack of quality is obvious. I think going into retail was a huge mistake.
I live in Austria, Vienna and over here in Europe Morphe is still sold (full price). I was at a Douglas (similar to Sephora) yesterday and there are always three or four of their palettes displayed. It is a tiny display somewhere in the back.
