Hey, I’m new to projectors and was thinking of getting this one (it was recommended to me). Can you tell me how far from the screen do you have your projector please. Thanks for making a fab review.
Hey Pj Sutherland, At the time when I used this projector the distance to the screen was about 3m. The projection screen is 98" Please note that the fan in this one does produce quite a lot of noise.
Hey sivasangaran venugopal, thanks for watching. Tough one. You're comparing a DLP (Optoma) to a 3LCD (Epson). 3LCD will not give you the notorious "rainbow effect" but comes at a higher price. I would suggest to see a demo on both of them before making a decision on which one to get.
It depends. I noticed it more often on the HD144x than on the TK800M I’m using now. Both are DLP projectors. It also depends if you’re sensitive to it. I guess I’m not so much so it doesn’t really bother me but it might if you are.
I have an old Sony amp which i like, is it possible to get my video only through this projector and my audio through my old amp as usual [coaxial] or do i need a new amp set up? i only use my projector for dvds.
Hey xavier goutenoir, thanks for watching. This projector has both manual and digital zoom. With manual zoom, you have to adjust the image size on the projector itself by moving the zoom wheel to left or right. This is mechanical as you have to adjust the lens manually (optical). If it has a button or menu setting to enlarge the image size (like this one in 9:40), then it's digital. Digital zoom will affect the image quality.

They have it on their site: shop.optoma.co.uk/lens-cap-hd27ehd143x-eh334 The problem with a lens cover for this projector is that you'll clip it on the focus wheel so you'll have to adjust it every single time when you want to use the projector. For on the go it's useful.

Hey Cosmik Guitare, thanks for watching.
