I'm only at 7 minutes or so, and already I see Dasein, in terms of the giving of the present, of time, like a surfer. The past wells up under the surfer, pushing it up into continual presence. To come, is the loss of energy for this wave, and eventual collapse. That is death. 'Time' as a structure is like the whole ocean in this sense. I shall listen on. I'm doing a Philosophy MLitt by thesis looking at the relationship between Abständigkeit, Authenticity, Das Man, and Die Lichtung. I've made extensive notes from your "Just another subject" talk already, it's better than a goldmine!

I get the sense that this is a description of the world unfolding minus appearence of “things”. What’s left are water drawings of dynamics drawn out from every “point” the point being analogus to the the appearent top of the tip of a fountain.

This lecture needs to be listened to a number of times in order to fully appreciate what is being said.

Thank you for all you content on ecstatic time. Shockingly, if not surprisingly, it’s a topic that’s virtually ignored among American “Heidegger scholars.”

This was wonderful, and, on the subject, I was recently revisiting T.S. Eliot’s “Burnt Norton” after speaking with Javier (your talk reminded me of this). Eliot starts his poem with a philosophical reflection about time that suggests the “form” in which the following verses will be written.

Another great talk - really helped me understand the present-at-hand of vulgar temporality vs. the ready-to-hand and connection to dasein in ecstatic temporality and the simultaneous nature of time made resonant for humans via the reality of death.

Heidegger never abandons the Ineinander of Momente.

Great stuff!. Initially, I found Heidegger somewhat hard to understand (perhaps cuz I read a translation), until I checked out Gadamer's 'Truth & Method' which put it into perspective. And Even with Gadamar, Heidegger is so layered. It would seem One has to absorb the whole German philosophical tradition to even begin to appreciate him.

Is there a way to gain access to your book or at least this chapter without paying the very high price on Amazon? It’s truly wonderful content. Thanks.
