My mother and father were lucky enough to fly on this majestic bird for there 25th wedding anniversary in 1989.They said by the time you had raised your glass of wine to your mouth you had just travelled 4 miles.RIP Concorde,we miss you.
As a RAC patrol I went to Heathrow to collect a Car in the Multi Storey. Every car alarm in the place went off. I could not hear for two hours. lol Concorde was quiet compaired to the alarms.
I flew LHR to JFK one of the last flights because I HAD to do it before they were grounded. It was an unforgettable experience! Only a little louder inside the cabin than a regular plane. Much narrower cabin though. Thanks for this footage!
I saw this beauty take off daily at 7pm weekdays as my office at the time was in fashinable hounslow. Between 18:55 and 19.20 I was always on the balcony awaiting this truly outstanding piece of airliner. Every car alarm within a few miles of the take off path would go mental :)
It used to come in over my house all the time. The only plane I know where EVERYONE would stop, even in their cars to watch it go over. What a machine!
Been there are Heathrow when concorde took off overhead, glow of the engine reheat, very very loud, all car alarms going off, amazing. Something I will always remember.
I'd give anything to hear that sound again 😥 God please let the guys planning on buying 2 of them to get one airworthy again succeed, it's a crime against our quest for advancement that this beautiful queen of the sky is not still in the air where she belongs!
i was once driving up the m25 near heathrow, and out of the blue, those rolls royce on engines deafening roar from that almighty beautiful beast nearly made me crash
I realy love the concorde. It is the best aircraft along with the blackbird which also rocks! I wisk i could take some beautiful footage from them (both video and sound tracks). I just love the sound of the concorde. I hear that people complain about it's noise but if it flew above my house i would be happy and smile!! :D
the Concorde, to this day, is the loudest thing I have EVER heard. It is far, FAR louder than any other plane I have ever seen and heard taking off. You literally can't even function when you hear this thing take off.
well, according to Concorde's officialwebsite, BA flew more often, while Airrance performed many charter-flights. One of which was a round-the-world-voyage that was actually a "tour-de-force". Probably both of the airlines had arrived at the end of Concorde's useful life
according to the manufacturer, a Concorde would have been able to afford 18,000 flights, but these are previsions based upon simulations. In 2003 there were signs of "metal-fatigue" inthe wings, and a full-reparation would have costed lots ofmillions each aircraft. AirFrance didn't want to go on the supersonic-service,where as BritishAirways probably did. Certainly Airbus consortium didn't want to build new spares, and without spares no aircraft canbe flown safely
Heathrow Airport was one of the deadly loudest noises ever in world records until 2003 when concordes were taking off at that airport. I believe everyone there must have strong hearing protection.
@BM318i If the Concorde is flying at 600 mph and there is a tiny hole on the wing, it could rip it open and bring down the bird. That's why you need spares.
Wrong. Joint financing effort between both French and British, joint engineering effort, and also the French-built series was first to flight. And let's not forget the role the Spanish and Germans played in it too... while not to the same percentage as French/UK participation of course, it's still a pity that their contribution is so often disregarded.
CAN we make one? Sure! Can we make one that has economic performance such that enough airlines will buy it and give its investors ROI? No, we probably couldn't. At this point anyways.
Airbus removed their ir worthiness certifiate :( and pretty much refused to maintain it because it was so expensive, less people wanted to fly after 9/11 etc etc etc etc........... :(
Airbus doesn't have that authority. Their version of the FAA could pull the certificate, but the manufacturer is out of the loop. When Focker went out of business, American Airlines became the worlds largest producer of F-100 parts, so Airbus not wanting to maintain it is bologna.
The Concordes are the loudest noises ever in the world it's a good thing they stopped after October 2003 and they should only take off at a commerce or industrial area You will need superhard earmuffs to watch the concordes.
ture but thay got to be exinguish right after those two cycles sins thay consume more fuel than the engine it self running and have to be lit at the last minute of throttle up for full power

That had to be awesome to have seen that everyday. Too bad we wont see it ever again.

Fantastic
when the F-4E Phantom II 's take off over my home town car alarms start to ring too, i love that sound
It used to come in over my house all the time. The only plane I know where EVERYONE would stop, even in their cars to watch it go over. What a machine!
I love that epic sound.
Beautiful plane is our Concorde! Cool that she set off car alarms!
Been there are Heathrow when concorde took off overhead, glow of the engine reheat, very very loud, all car alarms going off, amazing. Something I will always remember.
My God! This is a phenominal video of the great bird in action
Awesome. For those that say it was too noisy...It was too noisy for a second or two. The car alarms were too noisy for much longer :)
I'd give anything to hear that sound again 😥 God please let the guys planning on buying 2 of them to get one airworthy again succeed, it's a crime against our quest for advancement that this beautiful queen of the sky is not still in the air where she belongs!
i was once driving up the m25 near heathrow, and out of the blue, those rolls royce on engines deafening roar from that almighty beautiful beast nearly made me crash
wow my god. that thing is so freaking loud and badass...
I realy love the concorde. It is the best aircraft along with the blackbird which also rocks! I wisk i could take some beautiful footage from them (both video and sound tracks). A million likes from me to my beautiful White swan.. Miss you baby
I couldn't agree more. I'd love to fly on Concorde.

That is so freaken scary but excellent video!
just so majestic!
Hah that's so cool... I actually heard the sirens in another "in cabin" concorde take-off... Bizare
I wonder how loud was the sound of those engines!
the car alarm says it all:)

The car alarm says it all.. Hahaha! Sweet!
Nope, the reheat begins at the beginning of the takeoff run, as well as the beginning of the transonic acceleration.
lol sets off car alarm... that was amazing.
Love the noise !!!
beautiful aircraft!

Gotta love the engines
I got shivers :)

could we not set up a petition, get everyone to sign it and get even a single concorde flying again?
Powerful take off
the best aeroplane of the world
Damn impressive!
what a sound !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did concorde set off that car alarm or was it one of those pieces of timings only acheiveable by luck?
it's new name, the car alarm setter offer!
Haha the alert of the car XD
and at full afterburner too...what a suprise no one wanted this thing around regularly.. @_@..
Bring it back!!!
Pissing Jesus! Afterburners Too ! :-O
the only french - english aircraft build in the history of this 2 country
Wrong. GE/CFM make far more (commercial) plane engines than RR, and Pratt&Whitney make more military.
I can't believe that concords can be EXTERMELY LOUD and damage your hearing.
AWSOME!!
Wrong.
Joint financing effort between both French and British, joint engineering effort, and also the French-built series was first to flight.
And let's not forget the role the Spanish and Germans played in it too... while not to the same percentage as French/UK participation of course, it's still a pity that their contribution is so often disregarded.
thay mostly light the afterburners right at the last minute before letting the jet race
for takeoff and extinguish thim after the takeoff cycle
LOL did it set off a car alarm?
Looks like a plane from the future
Watch the amazing take-off speed...
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parts don't fall off if they are put on properly in the first place!
..great plane & GREAT CAR ALARM!!heheheeee...
haha the car alarm started
WATCH THAT FIRE WAUW
thats some loud shit!

That's well cool. The guy says it all ay 0:05. Wee-heeee! Lol.
LOLLLL
The car was really scared.....
Airbus doesn't have that authority. Their version of the FAA could pull the certificate, but the manufacturer is out of the loop. When Focker went out of business, American Airlines became the worlds largest producer of F-100 parts, so Airbus not wanting to maintain it is bologna.
Have you ever seen a BAC-111 take off. They are noisier, I swear.
LOL IT SET OFF CAR ALARMS

The French Resistance was excellent.
The Concordes are the loudest noises ever in the world it's a good thing they stopped after October 2003 and they should only take off at a commerce or industrial area You will need superhard earmuffs to watch the concordes.
it set the car alarm lol
YOU BROKE MY HEADPHONES NOOB

But then, most people also wouldn't want to embarrass themselves with idiotic comments like yours, either. Ergo, what's your point?
