This show/cast makes me cry, laugh and be in awe EVERYTIME because of the comedic genius and..pure entertainment!!!! Thank you SO much for posting these PURE GOLD GEMS!
I swear, *Actress Ann Guilbert stole every scene in which she appeared!* During her career, she appeared as Laura Petrie's silly yet loveable sidekick Millie Helper, Grandma Yetta Rosenberg, Fran Fine's doddering grandmother, etc.; these characters were all flawlessly accomplished and hilariously so! She even made something as seemingly uncomplicated as a set entrance so comical as she bounced into a room!
And a pretty much perfect scene between her and Mary is their (2nd) kitchen scene where Millie's freaking out in "Three Letters from One Wife". A pretty much flawless scene by both of them! 😄
Yep, he directed Happy Days. Odd Couple, some movies into the 80s and other Carl Reiner shows Rob Reiner wrote the script for Happy Days episode 1. Small world they worked in.
MTM looked very cute in this episode. Think this was the 1st one with the short natural style. Her earlier look was to make her look older and sophisticated since DvD was about 40 here and she was 27...about 21 when the show started. Joe Bonaduce wrote this. That's Danny Bonaduce's (Danny Partridge) troubled father.
I remember learning that cash was stolen from our house and we had a party with a bunch of friends right before it happened. We later discovered the babysitter took it.
It seems that there was an edit at the 1:12 mark. This episode is a lot shorter than the others. If you omit the 15 seconds of the Film Rise introductions and closing, it's less than 25 minutes. Programs of that era were always 25 to 26 minutes. No complaints here, just an observation.
This is definitely a fantasy world where you have friends that are excited about your birthday and shower you with gifts. How often has this happened to you?
It’s after midnight, the end of a birthday party she hosted and Laura still has on her high heels in the house? Every woman in the world would have been barefoot or in slippers hours ago. Bad mistake
Watching this on Friday December 13, Dick van Dyke’s 99th birthday.
This is the first episode to feature Mary Tyler Moore's new hairstyle. It's a big change from her previous look, and I think it really suits her.👍

Agree!! 👍😊
So funny to see Mel finally give it to Buddy “ Why you vicious little Beast!” Lol
That killed me 😅
Yeah I know right that was long overdue.
They relationship is soooo funny 😅
Buddy: "You think I'm a crook?!
Mel: "That is probably the nicest thing I ever thought of you!"
Love this show. Never gets old. Thanks for posting.
Those fuzzy slippers just send me....

Agreed, she was brilliant.
@@michaellakinloch5371 Indeed she was, thank you.
I never knew she was Yeta! What a nice surprise.
Yes! And leave us not forget her phenomenal execution of the song she does for auditioning for their talent show!
And a pretty much perfect scene between her and Mary is their (2nd) kitchen scene where Millie's freaking out in "Three Letters from One Wife". A pretty much flawless scene by both of them! 😄
It's one of my all time favorites, truly a 60's classic.
Memory lane…classic television🌹
We turned the house inside out
Buddy- i sure hope it doesn't rain 😅lol
Too good!😁
Jerry Paris was the best director and the one the cast liked best.
he went on for decades...tg
Yep, he directed Happy Days. Odd Couple, some movies into the 80s and other Carl Reiner shows
Rob Reiner wrote the script for Happy Days episode 1. Small world they worked in.
He was a good actor in The Untouchables too.
He died way too soon.
I always thought he was cute too
i want that cardigan.
Great old series.
Jerry Paris was in " The Wild One " with Brando . The line " You wanna drag for beers, who wants to drag for beers ?
Anyone catch at 16:11 that he called Sally ‘Ro’? 😂
One of the best episodes for one-liners.
I kept wanting to fix Laura's pearls..either in or out already!
I always fixate on that, too!
It was fashionable at that time with that style of dress to wear the neck jewelry like that. Provided "intrigue," supposedly.
I'm so glad someone else mentioned it. It was driving me nuts and I was wondering if it was some kind of niche fashion choice of the time.

I can't seem to find any info per se on Joseph Bonaduce and know nothing about him. Do you have any leads?
Tiny correction, Mary was 24 and Dick was 36 when the show started. So she was 29-30 in the final season and Dick was about 42.
@@xxwhispersxx2856 whose uncredited legs were shown as David Jansen's switchboard operator in Richard Diamond Private Detective (late 50s)
MTM was 23 to DVD's 34 when the first episodes were aired. She was 28 to his 39 when the show ended.
@@jb6712 isn't 27 about the same as 28 and 39 about the same as 40?....or is there a different definition of about when it comes to age estimates?
$100 for a watch in the 60's would be $1000 now?
I remember learning that cash was stolen from our house and we had a party with a bunch of friends right before it happened. We later discovered the babysitter took it.
Mary Richards makes chicken paprikash too.
Mary Richards IS Laura Petrie! She abandoned Rob and ran off to Minneapolis around 1970!!

This show proved suburbanites were not immune to crime.
It never entered their minds in their safe neighborhood it was a burglar.

It was Rob's birthday. Everyone was there, except Richie.
AT 16:55 UPPER LEFT SOMETHING FELL FROM THE CEILING WHEN THE DOOR WAS SLAMMED WATCH ROB'S EYES FOLLOW IT DOWN
Good eye! Well what do you know... After watching this series for about 5,000 x, I've never noticed that 😆
I saw the shadow of it falling.
A $104 watch in 1965 would be about $1049 in 2024 value.
@16:09 Rob calls Sally "Ro".....
That's the only time I heard that nickname in the series.
@@STho205 Her real name is Rose Marie. Maybe he was about to call her name, instead of her character.
I think he says " that's all wrong...
@@Zee-et4rd-That's what the captioning says.
Never heard that kind of a slip in this show!!! Amazing they left it in!!!
20:50 Rob is wearing his watch, and sometimes they have a son.
Pratt fall.
Why did the audience groan at 13:00?
I know - I wanna know too!
awesome!
Kind of funny how everyone acts childish even after they were told they were not being accused......
This is definitely a fantasy world where you have friends that are excited about your birthday and shower you with gifts. How often has this happened to you?
I will bet anything they got the idea by watching the episode of the George Burns and Gracie Allen Show where she misplaces her purse!
Ah yes....the old 60s era comedy fallback....the kleptomaniac.
I was going to marry Mary, but we never met.
QUIT INTERRUPTING!! 😐
QUIT COMPLAINING & BUY YOUR OWN BLU-RAY SET...Geez 🙄
I always hated Mary's new hair style in season 5. It looks very strange and it makes her look older.
One of my least liked episodes. The writers went too far with the accusatory nature of "Rob," and it got old very quickly.

she was fabulous as yetta in the nanny so very very funny
