    The only thing I miss about Adobe Audition is the Remix function (which automatically does this above) and the Spectral Frequency Display, to clean up the audio. The latter would very much like Fairlight to implement.

    One constructive criticism I would like to say, for the ones who actually focus on the background music, is that when you join 2 parts of a music track is to remember to keep the musical phrase intact. For example in 4/4 musical phrase you would normally count from 1 to 8 on the beat and when you cut and paste music together, you should technically cut on the beat in the phrase and paste to next count up. For example if you cut just before the 5th beat of a musical phrase then you should paste a piece strating with the 5th beat of a musical phrase to keep music integrity and will make everything a much more pleasing listening experience.

      Thanks so much for sharing! I agree with you. 😁👍

      Used to be a dance teacher in my younger days and used to make 4 track cassette music for my students, did not have today's tech to cut on tbe beat, you needed real good timing to hide your music cuts, lol.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome!

    • @pretor706
      @pretor706 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What's phrase? In this context. Thanks

    • @chrisbeemedia4038
      @chrisbeemedia4038 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@pretor706 a musical phrase has a beginning and an end, in reality a true musical phrase has 16 counts or beats if you prefer but most count a musical phrase in counts of 8 beats in 4/4 tempo. So when you mix 2 parts of a song, you should always take into account where you cut in a musical phrase and paste the new part starting continuing the count as if you did not cut the musical phrase at all, it will make it seamless. FYI, if you listen to most songs, the 1st beat of every musical phrase is always accentuated (stronger, louder) compared to beats 2 to 8. This helps you find the beginning of the musical phrase. Hope this helps answer your question.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just copy it a bunch of times, then reselect all the copies and copy all of them so you have more file to copy, then select all the files and copy again, etc. until you get to an hour. This way your ‘copies’ get exponentially longer. Does that make sense?

    Jason, thank you for another awesome vid! I’m having trouble determining appropriate background music volume/decibels while I’m talking: the music sounds louder when I listen through earphones, but low when I listen through my laptop’s speakers. Do you have a preference for how you gauge background music volume? In other words, do you base it off how it sounds from a phone, laptop speakers, headphones, etc.?

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks! I know exactly what you're saying, its going to sound different between headphones, speakers, etc. Typically I set the music level by looking at the meters. That's the best way to make sure you have good levels for the music. Generally I set the background music levels to somewhere around -25db to -30db. Sometimes you can got a little louder than -25db, but not often and it depends on what the music track is like. Once I set the levels, then I see how it sounds on headphones vs my laptop speakers. If you want to get fancy, you can use the automatic audio ducking: th-cam.com/video/dw88MGM9w0o/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

      @@JasonYadlovski Gotcha- thanks for that breakdown! I have a lot of tracks, and some of them are recorded louder or softer than others, so I have to custom-adjust each one (as opposed to setting the levels for the entire track). I'll keep the -25 to -30 db level in mind!

    obviously you can't infinitely loop a video (imagine the rendering time!), but it should start and end in a way to give the appearance of being a seamless infinite loop.

    this is made near impossible when the waveform is pretty much a solid block. and if i zoom in then i cant fit the whole song on my screen anymore by the time it no longer looks like a solid block.
    basically having to do this purely by guessing and ear.

    I was stoked when Pr introduced their “Remix” feature, it is a phenomenal tool. With that said, I figured DaVinci wouldn’t be too far behind. Clearly I was wrong…jeeesh, even Filmora beat them to it. I really hope they add it to the next update! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😒

    Towards the end you started going so fast that I wondered who you were even talking to? It's like you stopped being a teacher, totally forgot that you were making a tutorial for people who have never done this before, and were just editing the clip for your own personal purposes. You were doing all this stuff that I didn't even know you could do in Davinci, and you didn't explain it. This is another one of those frustrating tutorials that only explains part of what you're doing and leaves beginners wondering about the rest. I'm partly venting because this is CONSTANT whenever I watch tutorials across multiple channels and even among the paid tutorials, but I'm also telling you because I hope that the next time you make a tutorial you will slow down, consider your audience, and explain what you're doing. I wish you and everyone else making tutorials would do this. But I'm also grateful what whatever I can get, so thank you.
