You don't use the constant 4 wheel drive Konas on dirt, they are made for sealed roads and wet whether hazardous driving in the city. They would not make it very far on the dirt roads!!!!!
So being from the USA, we have the steering wheel on the other side, yes I understand you might find it odd as we do, that you have it on the other side. So is your acceleration pedal on the left or right? And if it’s with your right foot, why?
Hi!....you overlooked the twin jets under the front seats to ventilate not only your tootsies but the entire rear passenger area......no cup holders at the back bar the ones inside the rear doors moldings?....... pull down the middle arm rest and there are two cup holders integrated - unless the Kona in GB is different from the one we get Down Under. We had a 2008 Renault Scenic and sadly, Renault stepped away from it's MPV design - no more musical back-seats switching! So compare the Renault with the Kona we have now, that is a bit of a dinosaurus: No push button start, no auto handbrake, no drawers under any seats, no extra 12 V power outlet in the middle console, no variable speed auto wipers and how practical would that be to have the deep storage pockets under the armrests in the front doors? Renault is very poorly backed up in Oz and Hyundai has such a mega service customer service and a good usable handbook that explains so well where things are. Like where to find the all important fuses. Renault refers in the owner's manual to a flip down lid deep within the glove box to reach some fuses and never mentioned all the other hidden ones beneath the drawer (that has to be removed first) under the passenger seat and the most hideous hidden other 23 important fuses where one has to disconnect and remove the battery first, unplug heaps of wire clips to be able to pull the print out where those mager important fuses are upside down slotted into. Happy to drive a Kona now and glad not having to drive 260 km to the closest Renault service center any more where they charged us for two pollen filter inserts but only ever exchanged only one and pocketed extra Au$ 65.- or charged us $ 80.- for the two front wiper inserts where we could buy non genuine for $ 18 via the internet from the US and that did included already even postage & handling.
This car comes with a traditional 6 speed Auto, which will not overheat, the car also comes with a 7 speed DCT Automated Manual Transmission, which can overheat if you ride the clutch, i had a 2016 Veloster Turbo with the 7 speed DCT for 5 years it never overheated on me, but you have to understand that it is a manual transmission that the computer shifts and if you creep in traffic or try to tow it can over heat, just get the one with the torque coverter 6 speed auto then you do not have to worry about it.
Have driven the Kona and have a couple in our fleet. To comment on this video: Family Car rating of 7.5 yet real world fuel economy quoted around 45% more than official, the cargo area can accommodate one pram or the shopping or the kids school bags, not both or mixture of. Back seat suitable for young kids, no rear cup holders or air vents. This is not a family car and to say at 7.5, it’s within one point of other cars you’ve reviewed that excel in all areas compared to the Kona as a family car undermines the respect we have for your reviews. Kona is a good car but misses that mark in a few areas. Safe driving practices encourage all cargo to go in the cargo space so they don’t become a hazard in a collision. Mum with a young bub will have the Bugaboo or Baby Jogger in the back then have to surround Bub with the groceries.
Stylistically they’ve gone overboard with the exterior plastics treatment which makes it looks cheaper than it could’ve, case in point is the new Santa Fe which remedied this.
37 degrees is actually not hot at all, quite cold in fact. Also, you should try and stay on the right side of the road for your own protection and the safety of others. 😊
Good review...but why did this reviewer constantly feel the need to have a full smile at all times when driving? Relax, enjoy the ride and give the review as needed.
I have this in All Wheel Drive SEL trim, Luminous Red. Purchased last June 1, 2020. I love it. Its fun to drive. Im from New Jersey, US.
There are cup holders at the back, just pull down the middle panel at the back.
This model does not have the cup holders in the seat. Models above this do.
I like Matt Black interiors. 😁

Love the Kona. Pity there is manual transmission available but I understand why as it wouldn't be popular.
Do the side mirrors fold in Can you push the side mirrors so they close so they don't get sideswiped when parked a on a street ?
Have to go with the CHR Toyota

Good Design car
Anyone have this car? I heard the transmission overheats?
