I think that in the start of the game should have been a text that said something like "look out for paintings and drawings to get clues for hidden coloured gems"
I kind of liked how subtle the clues were. I felt like I was rewarded for being observant of the environment graphics.
Because Crash 2 was like "hey, shithead, how 'bout not break any crates in Turtle Woods? I bet you can't do that, lol"...
1:28 - Red gem
6:47 - Green gem

for the blue gem, makes sense since in one of the old games you need to break no crates/boxes to get the blue gems :)

What I don't understand is why now? Crash has had coloured gems since 1996. I realise the internet wasn't as popular back then, but I don't remember any similar comments with the N Sane Trilogy back in 2017.

red gem hint: 1:22 (on the wall)
green gem hint: 3:38 (in this pit with the flame minion)
blue gem hint: 11:48 (on the pillar)
yellow gem hint: ??(maybe the cutscene at the beginning is more than enough of a hint :p)
Edit: yellow gem hint: 12:30 (engraved on the corner of the right wall right before the water)
Looking from the distance, the yellow gem looks like a lamp or something like that
There is a drawing on the wall to the right just before you jump to the first platform, but it's hard to see because the shadows hide it

The Blue Gem condition of not destroying a single Crate is just like Crash 2's Turtle Woods, but put on a harder stage. Also feels weird not seeing the Purple Gem, but what can you do I guess.

Blue gem is stupid annoying to get. Way to pick such a hardass stage to not hit one single box! Should have been first stage if anything like it did in crash 2 ( btw, I thought it was dumb they did that in crash 2 to begin with. @@kirtheweasel It's true, but I think that comparing the orange gem that you only have in one game (or two, as you prefer), with the purple gem that appears in several games doesn't make much sense, in my opinion.
Thank you. I miss only the yellow gem and want to know where it was so i can play with no pressure of missing it. When new games come out, usally you dont see guide this effective so often.

I can't believe I missed the yellow gem like that. Four colorful gems, the only one in the entire game that does not require completing a puzzle or level without destroying the boxes. In fact, it's a pity that only 4 can be collected, whereas in the previous versions of the game there were 5 of them.

To think Crash Bandicoot has been such an old game and i still get hyped for its new releases and the moevment and graphics are fantastic.
Well, Star Wars is older than Crash and people still got hyped for the New movies (too bad they're a shit, different from this game which is just hard)
And yes, it's a bad comparison, considering how much bigger Star Wars is, but at least makes sense

i think that it can be quite difficult at times but i was breezing through other levels, i don't think it's hard, just inconsistent

@OpenTheVoid If you didn't get the full gem the end would say like 13/0 or something akin to that hinting to it. I do like how Crash 4 hints at these things with little easter eggs though.

You know, I think Crash would actually get along with Sonic the Hedgehog real well. Same clothes-style, really fast, fights an evil genius with robots, etc.

I sometimes think these colored gems have different power.
The Red Gem of Invisibility
The Blue Gem of Invincibility
The Yellow Gem of Immortality

Normally, to perfectly clear the game, you need to play Draggin' On two times (excluding time trials and n-verted version). Once for the Blue Gem, once for the other gems.
I wonder if you can backtrack the entire level of Draggin' On. That could allow you to move through the level, get the Blue Gem, backtrack to the start, and clear the stage getting the other 6 gems in a single run. Probably possible, but I am not sure if the masks are positioned to allow backtracking.
Since all colored gems appear before the stages that require them, this could open the way for the hardcore challenge of getting a Perfect run for the N-Sanely Perfect Relics by completing the stage only once.

I guess I get why when the original ORIGINAL Crash Bandicoot was called the Sonics ass game in development. Taking a 2D character and putting the view behind the character, Crash and Sonic are anthropomorphic animals, and they both had color gems 💎😂😂
