Great video. I just bought my first ever guitar, a Squier Classic Vibe 50’s strat, and after watching this video I decided this is the next one I’m getting😊
I love how fender have used all of the brands under them. They offer great instruments from 150 dollar squier to 5000 dollar custom EVH wolfgangs. I love that these X series guitars come with basswood bodies. Light and playable.
Cool, I used screen filters candle and dim incandescent, the color went from purple to a dark wine.. checked out other guitars with filter and they remained relatively the same color.. this guitar has a very nice paint job 👍
I bought a Jackson X series Soloist 3 years ago. The positives are that it is built extremely well. Plays and feels great. The negatives are the pickups and the FR licensed tremolo. I have since replaced the pickups. I put Seymour Duncan's in it. SH-1 for the Neck and a JB TB4 in the bridge. I also replaced the FR Special with an Original (Schaller) FR. What a difference those two things made. The guitar is absolutely sick now. It sounds awesome and plays even better and I love it!

@@klcutg53 The "Size" that you are referring to is the size of the sustain block. Yes, the FR Special that originally came on my guitar had a 32mm sustain block. When I ordered the Schaller Floyd Rose, it came with a 37mm sustain block, so I had to order a 32mm from Sweetwater. The 37 is too long. You can tell the size by looking at the sustain block. It has the number stamped on it.

Hey, Yeah it's a fantastic choice for a beginner. Price wise it's around £400-500 in the UK which is a little more than a typical beginners guitar, but this guitar is good enough to last you many, many years. It's a great guitar and would be perfect for learning on and even gigging with! A Floyd Rose can be annoying to change strings on at first, but once you've done it once or twice it becomes a lot easier. If you liked the way it felt then it's definitely worth considering!
You should absolutely get it! It's a great playing guitar and it's so much fun! I'm not sure of the exact weight, but I don't recall thinking it was overly heavy. It probably says somewhere on the Jackson website what the exact weight of the guitar it.
Just found a hot orange one in a pawn shop, with Seymour Duncan pickups and a hard case for $275. It's amazing! I can't imagine how good a USA Jackson is! And mine has a Floyd Rose Special bridge. Is that an upgrade?
From what I remember when I had this guitar on loan it came stock with the FR Special. The Special is like the "budget" FR version that goes on the lower priced guitars, it's still a great tremolo, but just not as high spec as the more expensive versions. I think the pickups might be an upgrade though because this model in the video has Jacksons own pickups. Also, that's a great price you got it for!!

That’s not the guitar as such, that’s interference from my PC. I’m sat close to my computer and single coils pickup noise from it, but all single coils do the same
Yeah it’s nothing to worry about with the guitar. My studio PC gives off a lot of interference (think it’s down to bad power) so anytime single coils are near it they aren’t happy hahah!
hi, great review, i really want to buy this guitar cause i love the 80s music and i like the RG ibanez as my most comfortable to play with but my doubt is on the Pickups sound, how do you rate them? are they really loud or with enough output like the ibanez stock pups? other question is if the FLoyd rose do you think it really will last? i know is licensed but it looks good, thanks!
I thought the pickups in this sounded great. I can't compare them to an Ibanez set because I haven't played an RG for a long long time, they will almost certainly sound different, but that doesn't mean its a good or bad thing. I think Jackson pickups sound great and they can definitely do the 80s thing well! The Floyd on this is rock solid, it feels great to use and holds tune perfectly. It's the same Floyd system they put on all their Indonesian models. I have one of the Jackson Adrian Smith models and that has the same Floyd and it's perfect.

I have the DK3 Pro that's flat black, and has a regular headstock. Maple on maple with black dots near the top (not centered) Alder Body and they put the truss rod adjustment at the bottom like Charvels. Neck is also binded andhas some kind of graphite bracing inside the neck as well? With JB TB4 and 2 SL6 single coil Duncan's and it rocks! I paid $630.00US last year. Compound radius is the same. Mine also has a real Floyd Rose in it. Im not sure why that one doesn't have at least that in it. Maybe that why the prices tag is cheaper? The HSS just kicks some balls. But damn that guitar is beautiful!
@@cnelly4582 Totally worth it. It’s become my main axe. I did switch out the pickups for Dragonfire screamers pickups but I kept the aesthetics by getting them pink.

The price will make those that do not see themselves as Floyd players take a chance as at the price one can learn how to get something happening with it at home. One can scratch that itch and and if it doesn't work out then little money will be lost by selling it.

It's been a while since this guitar was here but I don't remember anything bad about the frets. My experience with the mid-priced Indonesian Jackson guitars has always been very positive. They do a great job on them and they feel great out the box.
I don’t know if Jackson make many guitars with 22 frets, 24 seems a pretty standard number for them. The difference when playing with 24 isn’t that different though
@@LeighFugeGuitar This with 22 frets would be a great strat alternative. It's hard to buy guitar with modern features that is strat-like. Most of the guitars have 24 frets or dual humbuckers. I wish there was something from Jackson with floyd rose, HSS and 22 frets so I can get close to strat sounds but in Jackson package. I don't like Fender strats vintage look, I don't like pickguards and I think floyd rose i way superior to vintage tremolo.

It is routed, or "recessed" as Jackson calls it. Most Jacksons have recessed Floyds. I think the only ones that don't are the SL1X and the Adrian Smith signature.

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of the super slim Wizard necks. They’re great for their purpose, but I just can’t get on with any guitar neck that small. I keep feeling like they’ll break on me

Exactly! The fact that Ibanez isn’t still selling them, or the old Racer X guitars, is a huge missed opportunity.

Great question.... off the top of my head I don't remember... but I'm pretty sure it was routed.
It is routed, or "recessed" as Jackson calls it.
