opec just feels like a mafia to me.
They have such a huge margin on oil. Saudi Arabia allegedly spends less than 10 usd to produce 1 barrel of oil and then sell it for 83 usd per barrel. other opec countries incur more cost but its still going to have a 100% or 300% margin on sales for them at least.
Imagine a scenario in which India has crude oil then we also want to sell them at very high margins. And then there is a superpower who just sanctioned many big oil producers.

You should have compared this import with monthly consumption of oil in India.
India is consuming 5 million barrels per day. Reliance is buying 3 million barrels per month. It's not a significant volume.
