Whenever I see Kate's hair blowing in the wind on a deserted beach, I think of Wuthering Heights. She's a natural gothic heroine.

I believe the little kneeling soldier is holding a Bazooka gun. It's a shoulder mounted rocket launcher.

15 .625 is gold, it was the legal standard up until the 30s. it would have been alloyed with other metals to make the piece stronger, and suitable for jewellery pieces, etc. It was known to be alloyed with silver for this reason…still classed as gold though 😊

My great grandfather, an immigrant from Scotland, at the age of 28 was living in New York City and decided to join the the Army to fight for the north during the Civil War. He fought with the 79th Highlanders. We have a photo of him in his full dress uniform, kilt and all. He is somewhat a hero to our family. He was wounded and captured by the Confederate army. His uniform was stolen I think the day after he was captured and he had to wear a blanket until he was released. Those little lead soldiers remind me of him. Thanks for showing them and all of your other amazing finds!

Hello Ladies of Adventure. I am in Oklahoma and have so often pined for a Frozen Charlotte. I was pretty sure I would never even see a real one. I'm 64 and had never seen one or even heard of them until introduced to them by you. I was at my favorite Antique Shop last week looking for vintage Valentine Cards. I bent down to look at a beautiful glass and wood cabinet that has been sold. Inside were 3 figures. I couldn't believe my eyes. The most Beautiful, complete Frozen Charlotte. I figured she wasn't for sale as she did not have a price on here in. I bought her for $3.00. Unbelievable! She actually lives with me now, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Thanks for the education about her and all her siblings. Love, Barb

Thanks for telling the frozen charlotte story on a previous video even if some like to say its not true. The cat can be used in the dollhouse, it's back to the room, looking out a window. The Costumes type can be used as a book in the dollhouse study. I grew up with an old costume book amongst our encyclopedias. The stud, could it be platinum? That would explain it's being untouched in appearance. Another lovely video, thank you both! Have a wonderful week!

Costumes: During Victorian times and a bit after, the word “costume” was often used to describe a whole outfit. So, if a character from Downton Abbey was going to somebody’s country estate, they might be recommended to “bring their “riding costume” (riding boots, riding skirt, jacket, hat, crop, etc.). Or if you were a modern girl, you would certainly own at least one bicycling costume. And certainly any fashionable woman would have a walking costume for every season. Of course, the word was also used to describe theater costumes, fancy dress ball costumes, etc. So, I could see a newspaper or fashion magazine needing to head up a section with “Costumes” often enough to want a reusable whole word. The “s” looks a bit fancy and fun too. 😁♥️
P.S. The costume example pictures you found are amazing!

I just love love love Kate's mushroom.................. wonderful and lots of really interesting metal finds as well as the beautiful green glass stopper. Real shame about the cat missing its face but if you get a ball of milliput and cover it in cling film and press the face of a cat into it you should get a mould from that and then press milliput in that on the fklim and you should then get a face to put on the featureless cat. Hope that makes sense!! A good lark that one and I am looking forward to next weeks too. Sorry for putting things up on here as I saw them. Bye for now and I am going to email you.

The beautiful metal stud you found could be made from 'nickel silver,' which was also called Maillechort, German silver, Argentan, new silver, nickel brass, albata, or alpacca. It doesn't actually have silver in it: the typical recipe is 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc. In Victorian & Edwardian times it was most commonly used to make accessories that didn't touch the skin (it turns the skin green) it is bright and silvery in color, and it doesn't tarnish.

Awesome finds,,,once again! By the way, any time clear glass goes purple in the sun over time, it is due to some quartz in the silica mix. Thus it begins to become more like an amethyst which is a quartz type that spent a long period near radiation that caused the impurities in the qartz to change color. (Amethyst is a purple variety of quartz (SiO2) and owes its violet color to irradiation, impurities of iron and in some cases other transition metals, and the presence of other trace elements, which result in complex crystal lattice substitutions.[2][3][4] The hardness of the mineral is the same as quartz, thus making it suitable for use in jewelry.) So, the more radiation (from the sun or other sources of radiation) the glass is exposed to, the more lavender/purople it will become. Perfect for window display.

You both don't ever need to apologise for the length of your larks. I myself really enjoyed seeing you find and then explain about all your finds.
That dark nob on a piece of metal, with the blob of debris attaced to the end, looked very much to me, like Morse code tapper? I couldn't see it properly on my phone. Just an idea ?
I do think this beech you larked on is such a treasure trove of such interesting finds. That little stud was only tiny, but such a beautiful object.
What a strange combination of markings. I was quite amazed that that pice was still shiny, as silver seems to turn to a dark colour when left aline for so long. It was very pretty.
That stamp with the word Costumes sets the imagination off. Loved that.
A fabulous haul of goodies ladies. I look forward to seeing part two.
    Thanks. Very enjoyable. X

Googled it and it means pure gold that is 15K.. white gold, I imagine. & not silver. It gets mixed with alloys to make it stronger.& longer lasting. That is why it was in such good condition.

I like the new containers you started using to keep your small items in. I love those crystal decanter stoppers. Very colorful piece of glass at 16:05 and a cute tiny piece of pottery at 16:24 right by the tin soldier's head. There was another round white piece at 20:22 by the moss-covered piece of wood above your hand. Have no idea why I was playing a game of spot the find for myself, sorry. At least I didn't point out every rock and piece of glass that caught my eye.

I saw these items too. I definitely would’ve snatched those up 🤗

Me too. The glass was green & I saw a small square tile for the doll's house.I spot things all the time & wonder if they will show up later...hoping they would.

Your handle thing has the look of a Victorian telegraph key to me, but it could just be a coincidence… 🤔

Great finds ,I love the stud, strange markings,I would test it ,it seems odd a reliable jeweller would miss mark an item .But no matter what it’s a beautiful piece from the past. Great finding the bone acorn too, can’t think what they were used for as they are too small for light pulls, and because there’s only a hole at the top it would mean the cord could easily pull out. Thanks for taking us along,it looked really cold out there too,and the breeze from the sea must have made it feel colder too..Love n Light 🥰
