Veteran Edner Cherry battled Dennis Galarza in a 10-round lightweight bout on April 13, 2018, at The Armory in Minneapolis, MN. This fight was broadcast live on FS1 as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series.
Galarza came out strong, controlling the fight for the first few rounds and using his height and reach to keep Cherry at bay. However, after a few rounds, Cherry was able to get inside and was able to start wearing Galarza down.
Cherry continued his onslaught for the remainder of the fight and his tactics paid off. Cherry was awarded a unanimous decision victory. His record improves to 37-7-2 with 19 KOs.
