- Hollywood stunt coordinators like Wade Eastwood are the brains (and brawn) behind bringing car chases to life in movies like “Mission: Impossible” and “Fate of the Furious.” Car chase stunts often involve millions of dollars and lots of brave stunt performers.

How Hollywood Shoots Car Chases | Movies Insider
so... do they close the streets and hire people to drive cars on them?
Jeila obviously
ooh thats really cool!
Nicole Martinez they closed the street and out people in the cars?
Alberto Tapia yes. Same with “Baby Driver” that shot outside my job in Atlanta. The scene was shot over and over and dozens of the “regular” cars would reverse and reset back to their original positions between takes. You’d hear someone calling out “reset back to one” or something like that. They always drove dramatically slow and uniformed each take.
They often put out “casting calls” for cars, especially special or era-specific cars. They pay like $100 a day to borrow your car, then they put paid drivers in the seats, even if they aren’t doing stunts.
The only uncontrolled variable was traffic lights. Because they wanted traffic flowing in the movie, they had to time the green lights to start rolling.
EDIT: This was the scene they shot on Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia.

Symbolic Bass cgi son. Trust me. Don’t believe these dweebs.
Thanks for contributing to discourage random lads, inspired by movies, from trying to do dangerous stunts & speeding on the real streets like they're on F1 tracks. This can show them that it's just trickery & how much safety measures are actually planned.
1:01 Man he has a gorgeous smile
Now i know how its works
In my country every car scene is real cause green screen expensive
And the award goes to..a non-white guy. For diversity
what about traffic ???
Waste of money
i agree, entertainment industry is a waste of money, let's go back to communism where there was no entertainment because no one had free time or quality of life because we all spent our time manufacturing goods
Al Eks haha 😂 I’m just saying a lot of people can’t even afford a nice car yet movie production destroys millions of dollars worth of cars. I don’t care if it’s just a few but I can’t do nothing about it. I can afford a nice car but so much people can’t.
*RIP to all the classic cars that got destroyed over the years during production of movies*
P.S replica cars don't count
Imagine seeing a car with that giant camera
Blüëz YT I have!! And it's sooo amazing!! I was going to work on that day and they closed the road for that scene.. it causes traffic 😂😂😂
I see those all the time downtown near where I live
Just seen that a week ago for 6 underground
I have seen a few over the last 2 Months, they were shooting the next Avengers Movie
John Meyer that’s sick bro
That's why Oscar should have best stunt performance awarded to the stunt director. Come on they give award for best special effect
So much work put into movies. That's why we must support the movie industry!
I Don't know u but.First!!! 👅
I swear I see your comments everywhere aha 😂

So many people are gonna disagree with you

*"I'm second..."*
*I'm gayy* 😂
Ok. I didn’t need to know that 😂😂
yes be whatever you want
Okay. 👌🏾
I love Hollywood
The only industry which makes some sense
If a car chase was in Britain, I would love to either see a Ford Escort RS Cosworth or an MG Metro. Love them cars.
O MY GOSH. i always think how explosions work in movies. @0:14
Very unprofessional video. Bad audio, no points are explored deeply and the editing does not pull us into the subject. Please watch out for these issues.
0:06 that one looked cool in movie 🔥
That green BMW is SWEET
Thank God Insider put that giant red arrow in the thumbnail, because "Tom Cruise" in the title and him visible in the car would cause confusion without that arrow.
Like a boss. Tom cruise!
2:55 looks like an Ali A thumbnail XD
That E28 is beautiful
Yea, it was totaled while filming.
*car hits pot hole
* massive explosion
It’s 3:00 am and I have the irresistible compulsion to watch the The Blues Brothers again thanks tubeyou
Fun to see baby driver in some of your examples same with mad max
E28
I was looking for that comment lmaooo
@@victorpelini5995 Same ^^
Forgot to mention they'll tow sometimes because paying for insurance for an actor to drive themselves is crazy expensive
The easiest way to get a good car chase is to go to a city where police are constantly doing high-speed pursuits such as Los Angeles or Vegas LOL 😂
Awesome video, very informative. Thanks
And i dont even like car chases anymore
I love how my boy is wearing a blues scarf
YASS CHRIS HEMSWORTHHH
Holy shit the cameras looked like big ass quad turbos without my glasses
Tom Cruise = Legend
Dont be fool they know how to use CGi. Not all the car action are real even in Fast and Furious. Mostly they used CGI but doesnt show everything.
1:15 what movie is that
The Fate of The Furious
Crazy how much some things need to be dumbed down for people. I was excited about this video, and then it just regurgitated a bunch of shit anybody with a brain and some common sense would know.
That's why I hate to watch movies, no movie hero has impressed me because I know it's totally fake.
Aww shit..There for a minute they were going to shoot Tom Cruise......literally. Oh well, maybe someday.
The only good car movies were the fast and furious 1, 2, and 3. Other than that is a maniac in a car with gun and stupid stunts stupid scenes
As soon as I heard Wade speak I knew he was a South African 🇿🇦
The trite periodical formerly accept because night concordantly join for a icy peru. onerous, sharp celeste
Please seeeeeee to yourself
I have something I need to admit...
air is GREAT
You forgot Ronin, one of the best car chases ever seen.
Risk assessment :( the old one where the bridge collapse has such a different vibe
Tom cruise🎉
OMG DA HECK have you seen me before
I’ve seen mission impossible!
a lot of skrr skrr action
I am here only for tom Cruise..
Baby driver is my favorite
Destroying a brand new Q7 .. can you atleast give me the destroyed cars for free :DD
Do better other time should have content together with video I learnt nothing there
Damn this is super cool but I would still be terrified!
wow never seen this huge gopro mate
I knew it that there has to be some cameras attached to the cars for let's say dialogue scenes otherwise it would be way too much work for roto and matte painting to replace the background.
you need to get rid of this editor, jarring cuts and sound was all over the place... too loud, too quiet.
*Car chase in die hard in russia was way too long and sucked*
I told them to let me drive the car and they said no now they have to do all of this stuff
04:58 By all the old gods and the new, she's devourable! An exotic delicacy worth devouring. A drop shall not be wasted as such a grievous act would be an unforgivable crime against nature.
What's her name asking just for research purposes
Why do i feel like i've already watched this. Come on YT. Anyone else?
I thought people were on roller skates with the camera and would hang on onto the car window...
So you are the one who destroys all those fancy cars. My brother one to tell you that he wants just one of those hundered cars that you destroy.
At 3:16 it reminds me when i was doing p.e. and i saw a school bus with the front of it having people there
Hi
The guy who was The main character in baby driver was in the video I had no idea he was a stuntman
5:00
And why do they mention VIn Diesel in the same sentence with "a good car chase"?
I love to watch behind the scenes so cool
What if Ken block will become a movie's stunt driver?
everyone forgets about the camera ferrari they used for need for speed movie WOW
Hii
I always thoat there are small cameras on the car, mostly inside
Ppl are so tired of these fake hollywood actors.
It's so pathetic.
still didnt say if it's on real streets and how fast they actually drove on these streets.
Those poor 4 runners. What kind of monsters would do that.
Fake. Tom cruise is a paid actor.
Thrilling?! It's just a Shaky-cam tricks
I have been hooked on car chases ever since I saw "The 7 Ups" in 1974!
Why does this sound like Ralphthemoviemaker
They cant use action cam?
action cam would be redicilous
You can, and they occasionally do. But they refer to them as "crash cams". Typically DSLR's that cost around $5000.
I went to watch just because of Tom cruise in the thumbnail
I gotta say my favorite car chase is from the raid 2...so bad-ass☺
I thought it was all CGI ;-;
Notice they are using film camera not digicam its superior to use practical effects than cgi
In the uk the police helicopter does all the work, we just drive
Cool how tom cruise does lot of those "dangerous" stuff himself
Fail. I like the risk in scenes like the one from The French Connection.
