MJ can you get "Dimitri Bianco" and discuss the similarities of an actuary and a quant and what they all are each actually doing ......

I asked him a while ago and we were set to do it but then he said he was sick and we had to cancel it.

I'm pursuing Actuarial science, I've my first attempt in April this year.
I'm planning to clear 4papers by my graduation.
I just want to ask if we should go for further studies or go for a job?
As I'm interested in data science and but confused between should I go for Diploma or masters in data science? Or will masters in actuarial science will be more beneficial?
And if yes for masters or diploma then from where it will right, UK or USA?
I also want to further go for Cfa too, after becoming an actuary, is it beneficial?
And I have an interest in the stock market and investments so how to go for that, along with all this? Is it possible?

Check out a website called Protagion. You can book an hour call with me or one of the many other mentors. In this hour we can learn more about your goals and objectives and then determine which career path is best for you.

Is a postgraduate degree in actuarial science or in mathematical statistics and data science better? Alot of the stuff you mentioned about uncertainty and working in a wider range of industry seems more to do with the statistics part.

Statistics is just the starting point for many projects. Once you have converted your data into information you then decide the next action to take.

I think that would be why a stats postgraduate studies would include a research project where you can specialise in a particular field including actuarial science if you choose research topics like risk and survival modelling. I'm still in undergrad but I had a look at a statistics honors program and its alot more advanced stuff that extends on alot of things covered In an undergrad bsc in stats and act science. I noticed an actuarial post grad degree is not mathematically intense at all like how it is in undergrad doing all the core technicals. Would you agree that a person who loves Maths and has an actuarial degree should pursue an honors in statistics or financial engineering instead? I think it's also just as highly sought as act science especially in banks and investment houses and in alot of other industries like medicine.

Could Actuaries also work with artificial intelligence and machine learning?
