Maureen Sweeney who played mavis still beautiful gorgeous as ever love holiday on the buses all three films are great and this about holiday on the buses was great to get to hear about how the film was made and little Arthur shame the original cast no longer with us but left us with great memories
On the buses is comedy classic genius…very underrated.
On The Buses (1971), Mutiny On The Buses (1972), and Holiday On The Buses (1973). The last one was my favourite.
Absolutely brilliant viewing.
Classic and simple fun!!!
I love On The Buses. As a kid in the 70s in Australia, I loved watching it, my Mum let me stay up to watch it on the 7 Network. It was at about 9pm from memory. I have all 3 movies plus the entire series. The best pick me up you can find.
What a thoroughly fantastic documentary on this cult classic. So many stories , antidotes and fun facts. Loved every minute and hats off to Adam Rhode's memory! - Something as good as this deserves to be an extra on physical media releases. Thanks for all the hard work and the interviewees for their time and recollections. Made by fans for the fans with no monetary motivations.
I have been waiting for something like this for 30 years. Finally! I truly love this film and hearing about things behind-the-scenes has literally made my day!
Great movie
We were in prestatyn today as we drive by pontins i always picture Blakey at the gates demanding Stan bring his pen back i just love this classic British comedy they're not allowed to make such films like this anymore ❤
great film brings back loads of memories
This was great but very bitter sweet. All but a few cast have passed away, & the camp is now closed . Once again many thanks for a great documentary.
Loved this video absolutely brilliant work. Such a shame the camp has now closed. How amazing is Adam’s memory! 💯 good times.
I enjoyed watching this. Thought provoking and lovely to hear stories.
😁👍Thank you for showing. On the buses was brilliant and down to earth humour.
I 8 u Butler!!!!...ehhhhh...😊.....
my favourite movie of all 3 :)
Thanks for a brilliant and very thorough documentary, really enjoyed it. My Grandmother watched the filming of the suitcases going into the river as she worked in a laundry that’s just out of shot at the bottom of the bridge. The boss of the place allowed the workers to watch the filming then docked an hours pay at the end of the week 😂 That evening she saw Reg Varney and the crew in a pub by the bridge (now an Aldi sadly) and said he was a really nice guy, chatting and signing autographs.
Appreciate the words and thanks for sharing the memory of your Grandmother’s experience.
Absolutely brilliant viewing such a fantastic tribute to all on the buses cast even 50 years on the sitcom On the Buses and the 3 movie spin offs make brilliant viewing absolutely a timeless classic comedy however it is such a tragedy that The late Bob Grant who played Jack took his life in such sad circumstances as the comic Timing between the Late Reg Varney and Bob Grant and the late Stephen Lewis was brilliant even now when I watch my on the buses dvd collection and the movie spin offs I still laugh so much 😅a classic comedy that will never age 😅😅😂
Firstly, as a video editor myself, excellent work. Can not imagine the amount of hours research, travelling and editing to get what is a great entertaining, educational video. Secondly, thank you! I'm a big On The Buses fan, a most interesting watch!
Blimmey best documentary ever👍 Holiday on the buses definitely my favourite in movie series and because my great grandad was from wales when I first watched this movie i was a teenager i fell in love 💕 with Maureen wow hottt ❤ blimmey made 50 years ago still just as hilarious 🤣 to see the much loved actors sadly most have left us 😔🕯️ cheers Stephen ✌️👍

If anyone is interested the Audi behind Arthurs broken down bike the Date of last V5C (logbook) issued
12 July 1983 at least it lasted 10 years.
I smiled from start to finish watching this stroll down memory lane !
Brilliant
Brilliant documentary about the film could you do one about on the buses and how it started
Brilliant, i have the dvds😂
Wanted to watch this for a while, I saw it on a Facebook fan group, i think last Christmas, but couldnt remember where it was or what platform? Looking forward to this 🙂
Was only released on Sunday Gary due to inclusion of more content. Enjoy!
Great film .
Stayed there a year or two before they made the film. Travelled there in my Dads new MK1 Escort, I remember grandad in his thick black suit and cap in the middle of summer! Lots of memories of the place flood back watching the film. I heard Reg' had a PSV and driven most of the scenes, or was that the series?
Great 50th tribute especially Adam Rhodes memory of his time on set.
Reg hels a PSV but had no insurance. The buses were hired from Eastern National and still in service and insisted on professional bus drivers at all times whilst the buses were out on the road. Reg would have started the bus up and moved it a few feet on the depot set but that was about it.
Excellent video
So much better than most.
Most are like this is the tree someone walked past and this is the drain cover nearby lol
I remember seeing the bus on the Beach,me and my friends where camping in Gronant,we went walking for the Beach.
I was 12 yrs old.
If you have any memories to share, do drop a line to hotb50th@hotmail.com , book coming out this year.
Mavis!!! Bring my towel!!!
I remember watching on thinking mavis is fit. But it's so sad to see what Prestatyn and Rhyl are like know.
One day when buses are all self drive..this will be used in social history classes…how working life was once…this and Are You Being Served…are good examples of working life.
Brilliant.. was Maureen sweeney in fools and horses.. grandads funeral???
Pontins Prestatyn just recently closed down.
I still haven't watched any movies 😕 where can I watch them
Dvd boxset is only a few bob, ebay best place for them. Never suggest online viewings as it’s putting money in the pockets of illegal uploaders, same with the series too.
@foxmulderGC oh I watch episodes on TH-cam but wanna watch the movies
Problem is, the films were awful for me, whereas the TV series had some genuinely classic moments (the one where Arthur gets those wigs....
An excellent documentary. So heartwarming to hear the cast speak affectionately about the film. Clearly they had as much fun making it as we still do watching it.
Thank you!
