OK, everyone. Who is here when Steve Yzerman finally returned to Detroit?

damn is he a classy captain, always putting his players, staff, and coaches first. More captains should strive to be as humble as Stevie Y

I was a kid in the 90's and absolutely realized how lucky we were. The Red Wings were not taken for granted

Yea born in 90 here, was 7-8 when they won those back to backs, watched every single game. Played hockey for 16 years myself here in Waterford, same place Larkin is from same arena he played at. I still live within walking distance of lakeland ice arena, the wings will be back to the playoffs soon enough!! And to have the captain back helping the team, it’s come full circle and about time.

@@-BUGZ- I am a few years ahead of you but so glad we can share those memories. My Cousin had all of the newspapers taped to his walls. I grew up in Lake Orion by the way and know Waterford well. We used to play pond hockey and street hockey on roller blades literally like Wayne's World "Game on!" moments. Funny story for you, after the we went downtown to the 2008 Stanley Cup Parade we went to Royal Oak where I later lived to have a night cap. I ended up running into Pavel Datsyuk and Jiri Hudler stumbling out of a bar so drunk. I was going to ask for an autograph but they were so hammered and I was looking for a ride home.

Lack of Datsyuk in this tribute is just mind-boggling, he played his entire 15-year NHL career with the Wings, and I'd rank him as one of the greats in Wings history, the creativity and skill level was something I've never seen, a dominating player on both ends of the ice, in my mind the Wings fans don't realize how a once-in-a -lifetime player Datsyuk was

Yzerman: "Ken I BROKE THE MIC"
Ken: Don't worry Steve you broke all the records and we're thankful for that

Almost finished watching this...but just want to comment on Ken Daniels...he is great! At the start of his career, he was a fixture on Toronto TV. I always wanted to see him return to Toronto but I can see the love that he has for the Detroit team/city and so on. Go Ken Go....I have one relative of mine (actually the whole family) that are Red Wings fans...and in fact, if I was honest, if Toronto is not going strong, this is the team of Ontario (pre-Ottawa) and a home of some of the greatest players of all time. I have not done a count..but I am sure the Red Wings organization has placed an incredible amount of people into the Hockey Hall of Fame which really is the top acknowledgement of their ability to spot talent, develop it or use it. And this from a die-hard Leaf fan.

This was one of the best montage tribute I have seen in a long time. Perfect song perfect pictures. And I am a sharks fan!!!
Though I will say my best memory is one they want erased-1994. Game 7. Chris osgood leaves the net to play a puck. A third line player shots it back and the rest is history.

And that's why I've always hated the Sharks! lol. Nothing better than hockey, eh?

Wings fan since 1986....seen ups and downs. Friends - BE PATIENT....it will still take time. Stevie isn't getting help from the NHL gods. This isn't Toronto or NYC. I think we'll be fine, let's not peer pressure the organization into making hasty big signings just for short term wins....
