    Thank you for this video. I have the same issue right now. Been banging my head on the wall trying to figure it out. Ordered new sensor and padded walls.

    Just to let people know, The Thermistors I bought to use in this video were both bad. The first one (the one I installed in the video) only worked for the first print and then started sending irregular temp readings to my Mk3. Eventually this caused an error and stopped the print. The second one I purchased worked OK for a couple prints, but then started doing the same thing - irregular temp readings resulting in an error and a shut-down.
    I am now testing thermistors purchased directly from Prusa. Hopefully these will stay working for a while.
    **Edit** I have installed the thermistor from Prusa and so far so good. The temperature Record on Octoprint is VERY flat and looks to be completely solid (after a PID tune).

      Do you have a link to the Prusa thermistor cable? I can't find it for the MK3S

      @@msims411 to buy from Prusa, to need to have an account and be logged in. There really is no direct link.
      Also, if you have a genuine prusa, there is a serial number sticker on your machine. I got my prusa as a gift, so in order to create an account to buy original parts, I had to send them a photo of the sticker.
      Their customer service is really good, especially through their chat feature. Just start a conversation and they will get you to the right place. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you so much! I teach high school engineering and have both of my Prusas down with MINTEMP errors. This will save me a lot of time🤞

    Really useful video thanks. I have often wondered what the longevity of the wires is likely to be with all that flexing. Looking forward to your next video.

      When my print fan wires went out, I replaced the wires themselves with silicon, high flexibility wires. They are still working, but who knows for how long? At the same time, I ordered 2 replacement fans so I would be ready if my replaced wires went out again. When the thermistor wire went, you'll notice I ordered two - The worst part about these issues is the wait time associated with ordering replacements. Thanks for watching!

    I appreciate you making this video. You were helpful and insightful. I don't get why you wouldn't just call customer support. Why did you need to investigate on your own?

    • @Grimm3D
      @Grimm3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's mostly a personal thing. I rarely (mostly never) call customer service until I have determined what's wrong. I just like to know and figure things out on my own.

      I get that if you enjoy it. Personally, i have a business to run so i dont have the time. Prusa has really great customer service so any issues are usually taken care of.
      Thanks again!

    Thanks for the walk through - just had a 'MINTEMP BED fixed please restart' error 38hrs into a five day print, your vid is very useful. BTW, you might have noticed, it looks like there might be some damage to your heater cartridge wires at 10.06 - th-cam.com/video/C6IATC8Zd8Y/w-d-xo.html

      I have never had to repair the bed thermistor, but I would think the procedure is very similar. I'm glad you found my video useful.
      Thanks for the heads-up on those wires. I did double check them and the insulation is fully in tact, they just had some of the colorant flake off. Good catch! and thanks for being part of the conversation.
