It's not about who had it worse, it's not a competition. Circumstances provided an opportunity to highlight a problem with labor laws where idols can be mistreated because of legal loopholes. Just be happy attention is being given to this issue that has been tarnishing the KPop industry since it began.
@@scanspeak00 There's a reason it was so easy for lawmakers to dismiss Hani's case. It wasn't substantial enough. If another idol who had experienced worse abuse got on that stand and spoke about their experience it would've been hard for the lawmakers to ignore. We need to put our energy into supporting every idol that are facing mistreatment.
@@scanspeak00I’m sorry, but not greeting Princess Hani is not mistreatment. Not getting the boss you liked best her job back is not mistreatment. Working at a job where not everyone loves you is not mistreatment. And don’t get me wrong I was definitely a fan of them. But their behavior at this point is absolutely unsupportable. They’ve made their ridiculous choice, now they can deal with it. If anything they’ve made it more difficult for idols that truly do deal with mistreatment, with their laundry list of problems when they were given every advantage from the start.
NJ just made history! After this, companies are going to make contracts even more tough to avoid this kind of behaviour! Concepts are going to get even more hard to use because "plagiarism!!1!1!" and mistreatment will be taken lightly because apparently "ignore her" is an unexcusable incident that can overshadow the death of 30 foreign workers! Also I'm pretty sure the girls might serve some time or spend the rest of their lives, children's lives, grand children's lives and great grand children's lives paying Hybe back.
lol keep dreaming you corporate bootlicker. Yes it’s totally newjeans fault that abusive slave contracts have been at thing since the 90s. It’s total there fault other idols have been getting abused by their OWN companies. How dare they speak publicly about mistreatment to the point where a new bill was proposed that would make it so even if the contracts were harder to get out of that the idols have a fighting chance in court. Ur ridiculous undereducated to think that people speaking on mistreatment cause even more mistreatment WHEN ALL EYES ARE ON SOUTH KOREA GOVERNMENT AND KPOP COMPANIES. You know unions are a good thing right. Little bootlicker.
@@heheuwu190 I thought so too...but all of their claims thus far can't be proven. They doing exactly what mhj is doing. Throwing bombs around to create an uproar but no solid evidence. I thought they were going to release the video of belifts manager allegedly mistreating Hanni. But no evidence. So I'm sitting on the fence right now
good, concepts should be thought hard enough. We don’t want the same copy again and again. They’re a big company so why not invest on better r&d and creative directors. If they are to be idols then let them use their mind to actually think of a new concept that fits them and not forced rather than get the concept document of another group and copy paste it with some chatgpt edit.
I would call it bravery if their fight was solely for protecting themselves and other idols. But it’s not. They’re more passionate about bringing justice to MHJ, their ex-millionaire-and-morally-questionable CEO. Both MHJ and the girls were willing to stay at evil Hybe if MHJ stayed CEO and got her money. That displays their true intentions. They’re willing to sacrifice their careers for their old CEO, not for the sake of other idols. That’s why I am more inclined to consider their actions reckless rather than brave. I blame all of the adults in their lives - Hybe, MHJ, and their parents who failed to protect their children for the sake of money. Edit: Not even a day after I posted this, Dispatch has exposed MHJ has been exposed for lying about involvement in the press conferences + NA, and meeting with investors to steal the girls. It’s trending #1 in Korea. The girls seriously need to reconsider going along with this woman any further. I still do feel sympathy, because being in numerous lawsuits and millions of dollars in debt in your 20s is terrifying. DearYoongi, your video comes off as slightly biased and is not aging well…
Yes, that's what rubs their actions to me the wrong way and also the fact that there's others trying to make them the "book cover" of Idols standing against their company issue in kpop as if they are treated horrifically.
they have to take responsibility... sadly they will learn fast, the only reason they are acting so boldly is if they have a very rich benefactor, or they are just as naive as they seem...
Not to sound harsh but it really irritates me how people a acting as if this was even remotely a good thing for them. They're not standing up for themselves, they're standing up for min heejin. The only reason they even got involved is to stay with her.
I'm one to usually stand with artists, and I'm nowhere near a Hybe stan or supporter considering how TXT and Enhypen have been treated recently, but in this case.. there are so many different parts of this scandal that are pulling me to different sides. I really, really hate how so many people are forgetting who MHJ (Min Heejin) is and what that crazy lady has done. I feel like this might have been a fever dream or something, but I'm the only one who genuinely seems to remember the scandal with Cookie and it's lyrics, the problem with some of NewJean's MVs depicting scenes from inappropriate movies. There were so many scandals with MHJ that everyone moved on from. I'm not saying that Hybe is any more innocent, before anyone comes for me in the replies. There are plenty of issues with them sexualizing minors as well. But just because one company does it doesn't excuse the fact that it's being done in another. The love they have for their ex-CEO is unnerving and weird. No 40 year old lady should be that close with a bunch of teenagers, or new adults, whatever you want to say. And again, with the whole thing of her being called "NewJean's Mother". If I, as an actual mother of an idol, heard some creepy CEO with a weird past saying that they see my child as their own, I'm dragging them out of that company building by their ear, I don't care. The entire letter that Danielle sent sounds like Rapunzel talking to Mother Gothel, I refuse to act like it's normal. MHJ also wore fan merch that had 6 powerpuff girls which represent each member, basically trying to insert herself into the group. And people still call me a Hybe stan for calling that creep out. Not to mention the Shinee photoshoot she was involved with, the inappropriate pictures of minors in her house, the covering of an SA case. I understand that the girls find change uncomfortable and that the sudden change of what was familiar to them might have felt cold and off, but in my eyes, they weren't trying to adjust. Ador claimed that they tried to set up meetings with the girls, but they refused to attend them, instead making the entire issue public with livestreams and press conferences that their company wasn't aware of. If anything, I feel bad for the new Ador CEO who basically got thrown into a scandal the second she took the job. And the entire ignoring situation was blown out of proportion in my opinion. I'm not saying it's polite or respectful to ask people to ignore someone greeting them, but at the same time, Hanni publicly showed her support for MHJ, and that woman was putting down basically every group in the industry, dragging everyone. Naturally, the manager might have felt threatened and didn't want the group to interact with a person who supported a woman who started like 10 hate trains. Is it an accomplishment to stand up to a big company and push through with you beliefs no matter what? Yes. Is it a bad thing to leave when you don't feel welcome? No. But is it a good thing to support that MHJ after everything she's done? That's what's stopping me from fully supporting the girls, I'm sorry. No disrespect to the creator by the way. If you're reading, DearYoongi, I love your channel and this video was very well-made, these are just my two cents
I really feel like the ignoring is NOT being taken seriously enough. Like I could have swore wonyoung literally got into a scandal about this last year. Isn’t ignoring someone pretty big in Korea. Also to me if someone at my job ignored me because he didn’t like me I would also be pretty mad. That’s very unprofessional. Also NJ said ADOR contacted them outside of business hours to have that meeting. It seems like ADOR is doing everything they can to do nothing but look like they are doing something. Also just because you’re not like being abused that doesn’t mean that mistreatment isn’t happening (not saying that you said that) But I do agree with the MHJ stuff.
@Ugggghhhd I understand it's unprofessional, and that were other ways for them to respond, but I feel that it was an emotional reaction that they didn't think through before they did it. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but I could just see where they were coming from. I really appreciate that you were respectful with your reply tho, like genuinely :)
@@melorei_yea no worries I’m not like a toxic fan lol. Plus u seemed very sincere and logical. But also I do think they did bring it up personally, but hanni said that the new CEO made them feel like a liar or something. Idk I agree with what ur saying tho, I wish they could fix things internally too but it is what it is i guess 🤷♀️
@@Ugggghhhdi can understand too that ignoring can be extremely unprofessional and a bit childish but realistically a good portion of people were taught that if you have issues with someone, ignoring them is the best way to avoid confrontation. I mean its not like it was her manager or someone she works with, she saw them for brief moments, its not a horribly big deal
The new CEO said that there was no way to prove her claim since there was no sound on the CCTV and that it was a "he said, she said" situation. The alledged situation happened when MHJ was still CEO. What exactly did Hanni expected the new CEO to do? NJ also never gave the new CEO a chance, they refused to work with her on day one. My POV is that they tried to set her up gor their MAMA ROACH'S sake. No Idol deserves to be mistreated, but screaming mistreatment & throwing tantrums every time you don't get your way is a slap in the face to all the idols who have been or are being mistreated as we speak. HYBE never diminished their success, they only asked the reporter to correct the album sales in Japan. False numbers can affect the shareholders' agreement and stocks. As for the staff employees who wrote bad comments about NJ, it is not HYBE'S fault. The girls obviously did all this circus for their so called mother. They think that the grass is greener somewhere else, so be it. They also need a crash course on respect and how to be humble. Biting the hands that feed you never end well.
what I find disgusting about MHJ is, she called the NWJNs girls talentless brats, that couldn't do anything without her. She also called the girls pigs, who couldn't even lose a few pounds... MHJ is an abusive woman, NWJNs girls had to suffer through her... One might think they have Stockholm syndrome?
Thanks for your overview. It was pretty good but you missed some key events and details. MHJ was brought back in as an internal director without CEO responsibilities with her contract co-terminus with the members' contract in 2029. She turned that down however, which indicates she is actually not all about the art and music but rather about getting her title and equity back in the company. I think you should have also discussed some of the pre-debut history of MHJ and Source, where she took Source trainees for her project and did not reveal her plans for the group in a timely manner. Because of this delay, Le Sserafim debuted before NWJNS. This outcome angered MHJ, but she has only herself to blame for that. As for how this will be understood in a historical context, I don't see NewJeans changing anything structural as their demands were mainly around supporting Min Heejin's cult of personality. By them loudly defending the person who ignited fan wars to distract from her corporate malfeasance they clearly display no idea of the potential consequences of their actions nor solidarity with other artists. It will take rank and file idols unionizing and getting key idols to join, much like how SAG broke down the studio system.
@scanspeak00 only because she wanted her CEO position back, the terms that she said she wanted to be with NJ's until the end of their contract was in the Adore offer, and she turned it down. The board fired her as CEO. You can't go back to the position you were fired from. She knows that, but she is using that as an excuse to wreck havoc at Adore. She's using it in the media to attack Adore because as she said in the Kakao talk text messages the girls are niave and belive anything she says, the parents of NJ's are ready to keep attacking Illit to help NJ's, and bunnies are stupid enough to do most of the work for her destroying HYBE. Yet she was right, everything she said has happened. The girls support her to the brink of ending their careers, the mother's of 2 NJ's member have twice done articles attacking Illit, and bunnies even after all of this has come to light have either left because they see that MHJ and NJ's are both in it ti the end or they are what MHJ said stupid enought to belive the media play she kerps throwing out there and keep attackingIllit and Le Sseraphim. NJ next comeback was already scheduled for the 4th quarter of this year but her playing games to try and control Adore got it shelved until next year, she resigned but never came in to work so everyone was waiting on her to start recording their new album. But now it's NJ's who are delaying it because they want MHJ or no no one else to be their CEO. Their comeback and world tour are on hold because they also have not come to work since September. They ignored communication and meetings at Adore. They never gave Adore the chance to work together in good faith but continue to say Adore isn't being sincere. Sincerity and respect go both ways, and they are demanding it without showing it in return. I tried to support the girls, but they stabbed everyone who supported them. Their seniors who helped them promote BTS, TXT, Seventeen, Enhypen, and even LeSseraphim, all of them helped them, doing dance challenges to their sings. But MHJ has dragged all of them in her press conferences and subsequent interviews. How anyone continues to support them at this point is beyond me. In the begging I believed they were victims now I see they are as evil as MHJ, the way MJ talked back ti the reporters was so mean girls and disrespectful to an elder. Shameful behavior.
Let's clear somethingand it's really sad. NJ are not Stray Kids BTS or any other self music producing group. They are given music, choreography, clothing, and even are being told and explained how to even walk and what to say on every single album they have. Having that in mind, they can't make music without producers and a company to promote them. I hope they have some other knowledge other idol business because in the next 5 years at least they can work somewhere else. After that, if they want to keep with music industry and actually learn to make their own music, then they can start solo or together if they want to. But until then...
@AC-ri2ph she can have them after 5 years, if she manage to survive all the lawsuits against her. We saw that before with other entertainment companies. They will put the band in hiatus and not allow them to work in this field until 2029. This is yhe reality.
What's getting lost in this whole thing is the fact that MHJ was caught allegedly plotting to take down Hybe through a negative media campaign, forcing them to give up New Jeans in order to end the campaign. None of this had anything to do with New Jeans, and it's only a clueless person who would think that Hybe didn't have a right to defend themselves against a plot of this nature. The girls then inserted themselves into this crisis, alleging without evidence that they were being mistreated, and consistently supporting MHJ, even to the point of filing petitions of support when MHJ went to court to prevent Hybe from firing her for her betrayal, and even through her alleged defamation cases against their fellow Hybe artists - for which, MHJ is being sued criminally and civilly. They've consistently accused Hybe of vague mistreatment, and never once brought evidence of any of their accusations, even when they inexplicably went in front of the National Assembly to further disparage Hybe and the new Ador CEO. In all of this, there hasn't been even one shred of evidence presented against Hybe or Ador. These are the most ungrateful girls in the industry, and they have seriously nasty attitudes towards everyone who they've come into contact with. To write up everything they've done without provocation over these last several months would take hours. They don't have the same work ethic and respect for others that they should have working with their fellow artists, and their toxicity just needs to be gone from Hybe.
It is true that MHJ was talking to people about the possibility of ADOR separating from HYBE. The reason for that is that HYBE, under the direction of Bang SH, was undermining and ostracizing NewJeans as he had a big issue MHJ having a more successful girl group than his own group Le Serrafim (nothing against them). Its like his fragile ego couldnt handle a female beating him, the king of BTS! Since no actions were ever taken by MHJ to separate, just words, and it would have been impossible anyway given 80% control of ADOR, it was thrown out of court.
I think MH is incredibly manipulative, blaming teenage girls for siding with someone that has taken care of them and been trustworthy since their trainee years is wrong; NJ have talked about how MH talked everything out with them which is most likely rare in the industry, since they do not have that sort of support anymore it must’ve been a hard change. They obviously feel dependent on her and so felt like they had no other choice, calling them “ungrateful” and “nasty” is antipathetic. I’m 15, and honestly if I was in their position, where I thought all my success, dreams and future relied on this one person, I dont think I would’ve acted much differently. Obviously I don’t think what MH is doing is right in any way, she has said very gross comments about the girls in the past and has a history of sexualising minors, but I understand why NJ did what they did, even if it jeopardises their careers, since they probably don’t think they could have one without MH, further showcasing how manipulative she is.
They sacrifice nothing. Now they just make it hard for idol to break their contract. They might be able to afford to get themselves in this mess but not other idol.
@ Yep and their fans say they are hero and making history. The only history they be making is making themselves know as spoiled brat who make other idol life harder
@@SayaaNara Exactly!! Like I don’t like hybe in this situation but it baffles me why they’d think it was a good idea to bite the hand that feeds them, specially the hand paying for all their media play, sponsorships, collaborations and payola. They would be nothing without hybe’s bank account.
NJ inserted themselves into a situation that had nothing to do with them in the first place. It was a fight between MHJ and HYBE. Because MHJ wanted to bring down HYBE. NJ had nothing to do with it. All of this started because 1.) NJ can't let go of MHJ and they were demanding to have her back (it's not only impossible, but it's also unreasonable considering the evidence HYBE has of her plans) 2.) because Hanni felt slighted that she wasn't greeted and that a manager said to a member of a group to ignore her (that's not bullying or mistreatment). They (alongside MHJ and their parents) brought this upon themselves. Took it to the national assembly, made a video behind the company's back, and gave 2 ultimatums. They didn't have evidence for mistreatment. They didn't have evidence of what the manager said. And they didn't have evidence of HYBE not fulfilling their contractual obligations. They couldn't tell a story that happened to any of them that would constitute as mistreatment. and the biggest points here are, THE MANAGER STORY HAPPENED WHEN MHJ WAS THE CEO (why are you bringing up all this to the new ceo months later?). THE INAPPROPRIATE DANCING HAPPENED UNDER MHJ INCLUDING COOKIE. They made this emergency conference meeting before the 2 week notice deadline. It is very clear that they don't care what HYBE's response letter was going to be. They had no intention of ever listening to HYBE. HYBE also said they scheduled multiple meetings to discuss what they can do, and NJ never showed up. All they wanted was to have MHJ back, but that's impossible since she threatened HYBE'S position with her schemes (they are asking for the impossible and unreasonable). HYBE gave MHJ the position of a director until NJ'S contract is over, and she refused (she lied that it was about music. it's about money). You can't cancel/terminate a contract when you have no evidence of what you are claiming. They are not fighting for a good cause. It's a bunch of girls throwing a tantrum because they didn't get their way. They are lucky they are under HYBE because any other company would have stomped them out at the first sign of trouble (talking about how they are in support of MHJ would have been it). They would have been sued, blackballed, and left broke and destitute). They threw away their careers because they are stupid young adults (MHJ was not lying when she said they were brainless in her texts) who couldn't handle situations that didn't go their way. If they were sacrificing/fighting to change the industry, it's not a bright idea to 1.) stick by a woman who fired an employee who came to her after an assault that was caused by another employee. 2.) Has ped*philic interests (photos, movies and music ideas. 3. Used to do past and current INAPPROPRIATE ideas with minors (Shinee & NJ) 4.) Betraying the company that not only employed her, but also gave her money to start a label. (those things alone should let you know that they are fighting for their own selfish interests) I don't understand why kpop stans can't see that Idols can be bad people too (or they can be average minded people who make terrible mistakes) why is it so hard for you guys to see situations and people for what they are especially when there is evidence to support it? They are not fighting for anyone but their selfish wants. Stop trying to dig for something that is not there. The title of this video is a joke. How can people be so blind?
Where is the evidence that it didnt happen like Belift claims? The only evidence got erased. Magically only 8 harmless seconds of the whole footage remaind, yet the rest had to be deleted by law, guess those 8 seconds are some sort of an exception to that law. Also crazy how Hybe is so good at forensically retrieving deleted evidence but wont do it in this case to solve it. Its a he said she said situation but you already picked a side to believe lmao. The issue never was the mistreatment per se anyways. Its the fact how ADOR dealt with it. They didnt protect NJ like for example belift protects their ppl by staying adamant to their stance and believing whatever they claim, that in itself is a breach of trust from ADORs side. They have to always be on their idols/staff side, even if its just optically. How are they gonna trust ADORs protecting in the future if it already falls at the slightest pushback.
@@odi9974 why they didn't Rainer greeting issue right after it happened to they could secure monitoring? MHJ was still there. They raised it only after she's gone, for me it's a sign of bad faith.
@@MissAdalia1991 They did, MHJ took it to Hybes HR department for investigation, and guess who looked at it and dismissed it back then. You are right, the then Head of HR and now new CEO of ADOR. NJ brought it back up after she got the position in the hopes she could do more this time around. Ps: doesnt make it less sus how it all got deleted expect for those 8 seconds and how they cant retrieve it.
For me there’s nothing wrong with taking a stance or wanting something to change.(not this kindergarten stuff) but this isn’t how adults handle themselves or issues. There will be consequences as there always are in reality.
I mean a few things are missing: the list of investors MHJ talked to, the shaman, the text messages, the lawsuit from Source and the back story to how LSF and NewJeans came to be (both sides told), the SH allegation on the Ador hire up that MHJ allegedly tried to cover up, BeLift lab’s controversial response video, the cctv footage stuff. But then again this whole thing has been a whirlwind and it’s completely understandable how everybody can miss these parts. I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t backing everything that was going on and I love this group so much. I just hope they’re okay and that this whole mess ends soon or has officially ended. But great video and thank you for pointing out the nuance that people have to have when trying to understand this situation.
Ah thank you, I 100% expected there would be at least a couple of things I forgot about! You're absolutely right, this whole thing has felt like a whirlwind few months, and I don't think it's anywhere near over 🙈
Stop putting them on pedestal. Yes maybe execs at Hybe are shit but they tried their best to put up with these girls. Any other company these girls will be blacklisted with huge debt. Hybe gave them way too much leniency. Their own parents don't give a shit about them
Why is suffering while being in the idol industry so normalised lmao. You gotta put up with this , put up with that. That's all I'm hearing these days lol.
Another thought, if next year MHJ is truly found guilty of the crimes she committed, it’s going to be extremely unfortunate for NJs since they sacrificed everything for her. I can have sympathy for them, while understanding in reality this will not end well.
@@scanspeak00 If you’re asking in good faith - The other cases against her include Embezzelment and mishandling a sexual harassment incident. Then of course the main lawsuit about her Ador independence scheme.
I commend the bravery of going against such a big company. My biggest concern is I don't really see an end for them for the foreseeable future. HYBE will not let them go without a fight - regardless of their statements of termination, this is going to drag on for a while.
@@rivalryyyy you read my mind 🫣 it was unbelievably brave to even consider taking on such a huge conglomerate, but I dread to think what the battle ahead could potentially entail...
I wouldn't call this "bravery"...because look at the claims of mistreatment and abuse they're arguing with. The HYBE Founder not acknowledging them. And regular employee (who earns a fraction of their paycheck) allegedly asking their artist to ignore their member. AFTER they aligned with their former-CEO who caused a massive hate campaign against them. 1. If took years for BSH to recognize THE V, eventhough he was personally involved with their production and management. Doubt he's holding a grudge, but look at these princesses who are upset that a person who has nothing to do with their training, production or creation is unmoved by their beauty and popularity. 2. That manager's "ignore her" is smth Hanni claims. There's no evidence it happened. It's literally her word against the CCTV footage. And her complaint's timeline is so damn sus. Like they were waiting for the main footage to be deleted to throw a tantrum abt it. The fact that she dragged regular employees like managers and security guards into this stupid issue is so pathetic. All their complaints are such non-issues that you can see they're stuggling to find a problem. Not a single accusation they're making against HYBE is 1. Backed by evidence. 2. Undisputed. Literally every complain they have against HYBE and ADOR are because of smth that was revealed AFTER MHJ vs. HYBE became a public issue. So the intention behind claims of mistreatment is questionable. So I'm not understanding how ANYONE with a functional brain can call these girls brave. What precedent are they setting? Contracts be damned. If you legitimately fire an executive we like, we have the right to terminate our contracts WITHOUT penalty. If someone asks for grounds for termination, just accuse the company of mistreatment. What mistreatment? They refuse to sit down and communicate with the current management, then accused the management of not supporting their activities. They accuse the company of not letting them make authentic music, when they've never really written or produced their own music (even under MHJ). They accused the company of being money hungry, when the company making money is how they can afford to debut w/o a trainee debt, live in that penthouse and make 5M/year paychecks. They accuse HYBE's PR of attacking them when they CORRECTED sales figures, and of plotting against them when they simply said that they needed to separate NewAr (New Artist) label from Lesserafim because being banded with Aespa and NJ was causing a lot of hate towards the group. Like how is this shade towards NJ? Do these girls have no comprehension skills? Or do they have the comprehension skills of stan twitter, that projects all its insecurities on a statement and then takes it all the way. Miss me with the victimisation, because these girls can't even complain abt being overworked, because they haven't even done much since MHJ started being investigated. Sorry, this is not how real life works. In real life, contracts don't get terminated just because you say so. And especially not if you make a 100 dumbass claims, with hope that one of them sticks. I hope after they leave (which they eventually will, but hopefully not without paying up), they get signed with an agency that shows them how easy they had it under HYBE. And that MHJ had little to do with it. Because girlies, mama wasn't paying for your lifestyle and payola from her pocket. Cannot wait for their karma to hit them.
oh they admitted during the last press conference they have not had legal review, well the lady moderating said that... something like they have not had legal review and when the time comes they will seek it...
Isn't it interestingly messed-up that Hybes' reputation has to go down in order for khakao to be able to go public? All this messy, petty, public mud slinging for an IPO! All because Hybe dared to mention/point out the "stock manipulation" during the SM bidding disaster.
I think my issue with Newjeans and I see the argument with many others as well is the lack of actual concern of mistreatment. A lot of people aren’t ready to talk about hanni mentioning her situation (when the public had no need to know that) to push a narrative started by MHJ and doing this to save min heejin. Many people would care more about them saying they been mistreated if it wasn’t being said on the defense of MHJ. It’s one thing to say a story but to say a situation, bash the company, and demand them to bring MHJ back lacks actual concern and gives very much “We said this to add to a hate train against hybe (along with illit since they still don’t realize a chunk of bunnies cannot hear anything about another idol and Newjeans if it’s negative and automatically go run to hate on illit…)” Even outside of hanni situation it feels very weaponized. Like the letter they sent ador threatening them AGAIN sounds like they weaponize their alleged mistreatment to try to get what they want. I know y’all already gonna say I’m an anti for this but it never gave anti. My main worry is this biting them in the back cus they are acting without thinking which is becoming self sabotage both with fans and I wouldn’t be shocked if it self sabotage them in court (since their parents didn’t warn them that the things they say can be used against them so if they terminate contract the stuff like the live and press conference can bite them back)
And the fact that they have planned all of the press releases, press conferences, ultimatums and more, to happen at the same time as a BTS member’s solo release or event.
They didn't terminate their contract they just said they are terminating their contract. The reporters asked if they filed with the courts and they said no. You cannot terminate a contract without going to court. They are still Adore's contracted artist and just showed how much they don't know how contracts work. They need to get legal counsel to explain the ramifications of what they can and can not do. They already admitted in the press conference that they didn't wait for the response from Adore, so that's already a strike against them when this goes to court.
@scanspeak00 A contract is a legal binding document. They can't just quit. They have to go to court to have the contract dissolved. So either they pay the penalties to terminate the contract early, or sue Adore to get it legally terminated, or Adore sues them ( HYBE wouldn't sue the contract is with Adore not HYBE). It's not at will employment like where you get hired without a contract, and you can quit/resign and/or be fired within reason and not face legal consequences. If they stop working at Adore and go work at another company they would have violated their exclusive contract with Adore and can be sued and the way things stand Adore would win because NJ never filed with the courts to terminate their exclusive contract with Adore. They have to explain to the court why they are terminating the contract and bring evidence of why they think Adore violated the contract to not pay the penalties. As it stands, they have to pay the penalties to leave without going to court. They said they are not paying the penalties and not going to court, then the contract stands, and they are still exclusively bound to Adore.
@@scanspeak00 You can't just quit a contract. It's legally binding, and needs to be legally unbound, usually with penalty. If you don't have any actual cause to sue for breach of contract/trust, then you won't win a case to terminate the contract, because there has to be more than just you wanting to quit. Loss of future earnings, harm to the company's reputation, etc. - these all have a price and these girls are going to learn the hard way that all the insults and veiled innuendo about Hybe's operations will cost them dearly, especially since these charges have zero proof. They entered a fight that wasn't theirs, and they are ill-equipped for this fight. They also have thrown away their careers for a promise made by someone who has stabbed their benefactor in the back, after being handed everything on a silver platter. They will all learn that they had it very good at Hybe, and they lost it all for themselves. Also, given that their careers were only just beginning, they just don't have a proven track record to be worth the risk for an honest investor. I hope they don't end up in the lion's den.
They did say they are terminating the contracts and no longer apart of adore , they haven't terminated yet because they still have activities planned which they plan to still do , which if they left by own free will, which I think they can't do , then it will be illegal for them to still do that , and since they are still under contract , ador can technically cancel all their projects , which I honestly hope they do so they can finally get rest , they already cancel the music they were supposed to put out , so I don't doubt they'll cancel everything else
The way the members talk about MHJ is so creepy. The fact that they believe they can't succeed on their own without her is sad and frankly a little embarrassing for them and I don't understand how they think that reflects well on them as artists. I wish I could say I wish them the best in their future endeavors but I think I'll send those well wishes to the groups that were maliciously targeted by their so called mother instead.
Let's be realistic -- In the legal sense, they will loose. In real life -- you cannot just terminate a contract because you feel it is unfair to you (WHY DID YOU SIGN IN THE FIRS PLACE!) ... NO ONE (especially in Korea or elsewhere) will want to deal with you cause you have NO WORD OF HONOR! What they did - opened the eyes of the music industry - NOT TO DEAL with would be idols who have this tendency. And the contracts will be strickter to avoid these troubling issues by so-called idols with an attitude! ALL YOU SEE IS NOW ... give it a few weeks, a few months -- BAM! Reality will hit them and too late -- they ended their own carrer and for whom? By the way, where are their parents? They need an honest to goodness MENTOR who will not take advantage of their stupidy -- reading their answer from someone who is giving it to them on their tablets -- geeezzzz .... and what did their so called lawyer say -- regarding if theyr know wabout their contract -- umh not really, they do not know mush really --- why did they hire that older spokesperson during their emergency announcement in the first place? Emergency announcement? -- This was planned no matter what response ADOR / HYBE will give .... Mama Roach plans are in place and moving as she planned it - even before BANG SI-HYUK lent her $2.3 Million dollars to start ADOR ... Do you see how eveil MAMA ROACH is? And these are facts, proven as evidence by the courts - during 1st legal dispute .... not some baseless statements just to stir the public and media. I WAS ONCE A DIE HARD STAN OF Mama Roach's MINNIONS --- but after that fiasco at the Assembly -- I lost all respect and Love for them. Deep pockets and THE TRUTH will always prevail. #ILLIT #HYBE ❤❤❤
The issue with Newjeans right now is they are trying to get hybe to cave. They don’t want to actually terminate themselves they want hybe to make the first move so they can go from there but hybe won’t do it
@@AUGHHHHHBBG well as corporation, hybe has the advantage of time and financial resource to continue battle of attrition. NJ girls however, not so much, unless they have super concrete evidence (which from what we see so far or shared into public, there aren't any yet).
@scanspeak00 😂 abusing. Just pay and Go. For Normal employees the companies won't put their money and resources so they can go easily. But it's funny to have lived like princess getting special treatment and claim mistreatment and say I will not pay for what the company put into to get these girls to this stage. They should srsly go to SM after this. They will be doing live everyday crying
Why are people so angry in the comments about something that doesn’t affect them at all, I urge people who are angry to go outside 😅 (regardless of whoever’s side you are on)
The thing is im pretty sure they are using mhj legal team, which everyone who seems to be associated with that woman seems to have their own interests they are protecting, not newjeans. Because if they were really about protecting them, why does mhj always have her lawyers with her to help her try to say the right things but newjeans are left to fend for themselves in the public? They very clearly don’t understand legal jargon, so they can’t really any answer the questions about their contracts. And I definitely feel that ador’s lawyers probably know the contract better than newjeans, especially if some of them helped right it. Which is why its so wild to me that some people really believe that newjeans can just say they are terminating their contracts and poof, like magic, their contracts are terminated. That might be how disney channel shows work but not real life. Their names are signed on several lines throughout their contracts, it doesn’t even matter that different countries have different laws, contracts work the same universally. If you sign your name to get IN a contract, you HAVE TO sign to get out the contract and even then you can’t just leave, a judge/jury would have to rule in your favor. And the court of law is looking at cold hard, irrefutable evidence, they are not worried about how you felt about something they care about if you have proof it occurred and the biggest issue i have seen is that, no, they seemingly don’t have evidence of anything. Im not saying the companies are amazing because they’re more than likely no better than any other label but why are people acting like we don’t know the industry everywhere is shit, not just korea and america? Im sorry it just seems wild that all of a sudden when mhj gets removed, now the members have all these issues. Issues that occurred when mhj was ceo. If these were such big issues, why not bring them up to your “mother”? If newjeans are her “daughters”, why did she not do anything about these issues? I personally don’t think its fair for them to not only be disrespectful but to demonize ador’s new ceo just because she was placed in the position. Its extremely unfair for them to expect her to fix issues that happened under the former ceo and then they blame her as if they are her fault. She has asked nothing different than what the judges and lawyers will ask them, do you have proof? They have presented her with 0 evidence of any of their claims and the woman is actively saying she believes them but without proof she really can’t do anything. This woman cannot make another grown adult apologize to them, this is not grade school and your teacher is making kids apologize for hitting. How many of us now that we are older don’t apologize when we probably should? Shit you probably have fought with your siblings and were told to apologize and didn’t, this is normal behavior. You have more than likely ignored several people in your life and have never apologized for it, the world doesn’t revolve around you, people are not obligated to be nice and talk to you. So i will put this here for anyone who may have never heard this growing up, i personally was taught this in grade school: You won’t always work with people you like, you will have to work with people you dislike sometimes even hate. If someone is good at their job, it doesn’t matter if you personally get along with them, the world doesn’t revolve around you and what you like, you suck it up and work together
I think that’s my issue too. Even if they have their own legal team, they aren’t looking out for them. They are risking their words being used against them in court Lack of understanding on how terminations work Claiming contract violations but lack to deep dives Claiming more evidence of mistreatment but when asked by a reporter they lacked a response Etc This looks so bad for them and I’m worried cus they are making this harder for themselves
Them not having their legal team speak up for them might be deliberate. Right now, they look like brave girls going against a system that oppressed them. And because they don't know all the legal jargon, when ADOR takes legal action, it just looks like a company trying to bully all these young girls for standing up for themselves. It's the same reason MHJ got up on stage and ranted and raved in plain clothes with no makeup and her un-styled hair in a hat to cry about Hybe trying to sabotage her; it paints the image of a regular person trying to fight against this evil corporate giant. And in MHJ's next press release after she won her first injunction, she was more dressed up and smiling while asking Hybe not to pursue further legal action; it was to look like she was the professional one in the situation and any further legal action by Hybe would look unreasonable. With NewJeans, since they don't know everything about the legal side, it's advantageous to their legal team in painting a public perception of them. Before you enter the court room, the first court battle is the battle of public opinion - something MHJ also noted in Project 1945.
Ugh! This is definitely a complicated issue. It’s like trying to choose between the devil and devil for them it seems like. I’ll be interested to see how it plays out. However, it’s really annoying to hear some fans acting like NJ are some kind of pioneers for going against their company for this mistreatment, when there has been so MANY other groups and idols that I have done this. Heck, have ppl have forgotten JYJ and how they went through 15 YEARS of blacklisting for speaking out against SM? You know, the group whose law was used in that press conference that Hanni spoke at?? Groups/artists like Shinhwa, Hangeng, BAP, the Chinese Exo members, Loona, etc. whom had to go through so much against their agency?? Like come on. We should hear ALL of these voices; not only care when it’s a current popular group that does it 🤡
Mhj had to quit so that she could sue for that put option. Even though the shareholders' agreement was terminated. If she stayed with Ador and took that producer job, she would kiss that put option goodbye. But that put option goes hand in hand with the ceo position, and she now has neither.
Not just HYBE imo. I’ll bet all the agencies are updating their contracts. Tightening them up, adding stronger NDA’s and non compete clauses, ensuring no coddling or entitlement occurs, no close relationships w management, higher fines….The list is great. People think these agencies aren’t going to swing hard the other way to protect themselves? Preposterous. They seem to be blindly running towards that ever present brick wall. Good things can happen and the industry can change but not like this. It’s a business not a charity.
I think I have a different perspective. I don't think newjeans are necessarily stupid for wanting to follow mhj, I do not like or support mhj. But it's become quite clear a ceo that's originally a creative director focused on creative concepts treats idols differently than one focused on business. newjeans felt comfortable with her. Whether you think they're "brainwashed" is up for debate, but I do think they realized how their conditions shifted once mhj left and that's why they want her back in that position of power. the production role mhj got, was not what you guys are thinking it is. it was a temporary role to finish out her contract (which would've ended in november) and it's unlikely hybe would've renewed it. however, I think getting the newjeans girls involved in this capacity was selfish on mhj's part. Being this outspoken, may be a bit stupid for newjeans to do but I'm wondering wtf their parents and other employees at ador (that they trust) are doing?? Now, while I don't think njs is in the wrong, the way they are going about this is quite worrying. I'm hoping their lawyers have a good plan. It seems like they were using a korean law where if the contracting party (ador) violates the exclusive contract, the other party (newjeans) can say we will give you our issues and there is a 2 week grace period to fix this, otherwise the contract is terminated. However, since ador doesn't agree it's a breach of contract, you need an outside party (the court) to figure out who's right. And that could end badly for them since hybe probably has great lawyers. Also termination fees may arise, newjeans and hybe have made significant income from the group so their termination fees could be based on that loss and become very high. also, I'm not sure how to feel about the press conference, it seems like they're trying to leverage the public awareness over hybe. It could help but not sure right now. Different lawyers have said different things, I've read some naver articles and most say ultimately this will end up in court. There is already a proposed law around idols being deemed employees by the law from Hanni's case, I have no idea if it'll be passed but it's a nice start. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they'll be able to have idol careers after this. It depends on how everything goes down in court. Just hoping it's not as bad as I'm thinking it could turn out If you guys want some sources to read article overview of njs press conference and after: koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2024-11-30/national/socialAffairs/HYBE-ADOR-eye-legal-measures-as-NewJeans-members-walk-away-from-contracts/2189501 includes why mhj denied the role: www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/min-hee-jin-rejects-newjeans-producer-role-after-hybe-ousts-her-as-ador-ceo/ transcript of mhj's press conference: koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2024-04-25/entertainment/kpop/LIVE-UPDATES--ADOR-CEO-Min-Heejin-press-conference/2033613 naver article with attorney input (11/29) (in korean): n.news.naver.com/article/001/0015075905?sid=103 naver aticle overview (12/1) , talks about 2 week termination method (in korean): n.news.naver.com/article/015/0005063785?sid=101 @/tmikpop on twitter also has some good threads for earlier stuff, unfortunately they are private so I can't link specific tweets unless you're following them *naver articles are in korean, used auto translate
Extremely well said. You've managed to capture my very complicated feelings and express them in an eloquent and well researched video. I really want what's best for the girls but I don't think they will be happy with the outcome of things, especially since they've burned many bridges on the way out. HYBE has proven to be a ruthless conglomerate (you don't get to the top by playing "nice"), they will not let this go easily even if they were in the wrong. I think the girls should have moved more carefully, if at all. I hate to say it but I think the best thing for them would have been to ride out their contract, gain valuable industry experience by making a name for themselves and just refuse to renew. They could've documented everything during that time and then speak out once they're officially out of their contract. Maybe even release a tell all book or something. It sucks because 7 years is a long time but they signed a likely airtight contract. These contracts are made by professionals who work with/for HYBE, you think they aren't going to give themselves the upper hand? It's naive to think that the girls can just walk away from a contract without some kind of consequence. I say all this as a Tokki, who loves their personalities, music and other content.
I am glad that you tackle this subject with nuance. I want to be otimist about the girls future. But this politics and propaganda, the public perception is a safe line to not receive the full blow of hybe's power. this legal battle may hinder even more draconic contracts for future groups like seal tigh ndas.
I'm divided on this. I don't trust MHJ and I do think that NJ "mistreatment" is definitely out of porportion for the alleged seriousness, when other Idols have gone through worse.. BUT those other Idols should have fought for themselves just as hard as NJ is doing now, and they didn't.... What NJ is doing, should have been done ages ago by many other Idols.. so yeah, NJ is taking a huge risk, maybe their reasons aren't as valid, but if the outcome is favorable in giving artists more rights and protections, then I honestly can't complain either. At least they are doing something, that other artists should have fought for long ago.
Where are NJ's parents, because MHJ seems to have way too much influence over the girls, especially for a boss-employee relationship, in a way that rubs the wrong way, and it feels like the girls have no other adult figure to care for them or guiding them
the thing that i ask myself is, do they really care about the rights of artists? or are they just pushing this narrative because they can use it as an argument against hybe. I just dont know what to believe anymore. I feel like NJ are just a pawn in MHJs hand. While i do want the best for them, i just cant believe for sure that they are being genuine about this. I just have trust issues with everyone involved.
@@yen-8680sorry for the incoming essay lol. But because I like NJ and their music. Also idc about HYBE as a company or what happens to it. I feel like people forget RECORD LABELS are one of the scummiest corporations around. It’s been known since the beginning of record labels and it applies to almost all labels around the world. They are shady and hand young artist bad deal tricking them with legal wording because they want to follow their dream. In my eyes huge companies like that existing is inherently wrong. NO ONE makes that type of money (especially that fast) without hurting lots of people on the way. (In the case of record labels that’s usually the artist) I remember TLC saying they were broke because they were locked in a bad contract that they signed young. I remember an EXO member saying SM tried to manipulate the public’s opinion of him in a negative way to try to get him to resign. Literally DRAKE is suing his company for allegedly boosting streams for Kendrick to get him to look bad in public and resign at a lower rate (which is prob true since a lot of labels boost their artist streams, but I do think Drake is coping tho lol) I feel like people are saying NJ is greedy for no real reason when there is literally a power and money hungry corporation right in front of you. A company that sexualized minors over and over again since the BTS days and refused to learn from it. A company that works their idols till their breaking point. Like I think HYBE idols have had so many injuries and have had to sit out due to health reason (a lot of other idols have too but it’s a lot at HYBE). To me that is a company lacking morals for money. Which is even weirder since HYBE has so much money. Idc if all companies do it, it needs to stop. I also think SM needs to be handed a piece of what HYBE is getting from the public as well, if not more. My biggest thing is just because it’s normalized doesn’t mean it we should all just accept things for how they are. And I feel like ppl are hating on NJ because there’s is no real face to throw there hate at with HYBE. Like it used to BSH but he stepped down. (BTW not a MHJ stan, just incase. She also has a wierd track record around minors and that’s mostly what I care about not about the HYBE stuff)
It hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, but it is presumed they are being represented by the same firm as MHJ. It’s a top firm over there, and they already have one big win over HYBE under their belt. They, and the firm representing HYBE, are basically the number one and two firms in the country. No doubt there is major legal firepower backing both sides with this much on the line. It’s quite common for business contracts to have clauses with grounds for termination (if one party or the other violates certain things). While we don’t have the full contract, it does appear the more idol-friendly Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism rec was used as a basis. This came out in the initial injunction case, and the judge specifically wrote about it. If the court concludes New ADOR did not do enough to protect against “third party infringement,” NJ’s contract is donezo.
Omg thank you idk why people don’t get that there is always going to be a termination clause. No matter if you’re a little guy or a big one. Also we will never know an idols contract.
They didn't sacrifice crap, spoiled little brats who lived off of another groups hard earned money. They are acting like "oh poor little me" crying wolf like their "b" boss
I think it’s good they are taking a stand. The truth about the idol industry at its core, is that big companies take advantage talented young teenagers: overworking them, mistreating them, and because they are so young they often don’t stand up for their rights. I hope NJ is successful in separating from Hybe.
I think if they wanted they could have continue as a group with the image they have but without MHJ. It is possible, look at æspa. All the people who created their concept in their debut are no longer working with them, and yet, they arguably have become a better group since then. I feel it just proves that the attatchment NJ have to MHJ is extremely questionable and makes you wonder how is their relationship bts
the move they made was quite clever, instead of filing and injunction to terminate their contract, they just terminated their contract which puts everything on Hybe/Ador to sue them to get back to the contract. That means they can continue their work whereas if they filed an injunction, they would have to wait until the legal case plays out.
This isn’t smart. They wanna terminate their contract without going to court. They sent a cancellation notice: The demands weren’t filled which leaves them to terminate themselves. If they don’t they just gonna keep doing their contracts unless they are negotiating behind the scenes (which most likely not because ador claimed Newjeans haven’t came to any meeting they been invited to attend)
That's not how contracts work. You can't just unilaterally decide the contract is over, otherwise, contracts would have no power. As we've all seen, there hasn't been a single contractual breach that has been pointed out by New Jeans, in any of their demands or public comments. All they've talked about is restoring MHJ as CEO, which is a management consideration, and would have nothing to do with an artist's contract. They asked for a third party relationship to be restored - that relationship has nothing to do with them and their contracts, and the material that was deleted which they want restored was explicitly never supposed to be released, per the sponsor's stipulations. They wanted an apology from a manager in another organization to apologize for an unproven event - which is ridiculous, petty and immature. So, they basically don't have a case to terminate, and even if they did, they'd need to go to court, and would likely still need to pay a penalty to exit the contract. They way these girls are behaving is juvenile and ignorant of the law.
I wonder if the sudden live that New Jeans hosted and the press conference were intentionally made that way because they knew that one way to fight a corportation is with the help of the public. Yes, Hybe has the finances, but if New Jeans could convince the public to their side, it could damage Hybe's reputation and maybe even hurt them financially in some way. Which is probably why New Jeans wanted to get ahead of Hybe and Ador, and share their perspective before it was blemished by anything that came out against them. This also led to something that I'm not sure was foreseen, which is Ador and Hybe choosing to retain New Jeans instead of letting them go to halt this matter, and preserving their public image. Ultimately, I find it admirable that New Jeans is making a stand and sticking to it inspite of the odds being stacked against them. I just hope that however this ends, New Jeans is still going strong and together. Edit: Also, one thing that worries me is, why did MHJ resign when New Jeans are still in the thick of it?
No matter what people say about their career move, outside of that aspect I want to say that NJ did a good move to save themselves showing the path to freedom from abusive labels. Y'all think that those labels are right to enslave poor young kids and ruining their childhood? NJ is mostly right to show the example which is to to leave that horrible industry. Remember that behind every kpop idol, there's a broken child, fully depressed. Bts said it, txt said it, many kpop idols said it already, that the K-pop industry is dark and abusive. It's basically rich labels promising glams to credulous children and then proceed to steal their childhood, control them and ruin their identity. And labels take all the money leaving them crumbs. When will y'all take this seriously.
More things: - They have said of putting NJ on hiatus for 1.5 years to search for a “Grammy award producer” (statement from the COO). Even though NJ already had great producers (250 produced Hype Boy and Ditto) - In HYBE’s internal weekly report, they literally talk about replacing NewJeans for less competition for ILLIT and LSF (I never thought ILLIT and NJ were similar but this surprised me) - Idk about a lot of MHJ’s actions, but she has said about already having a 7-year plan for NJ regarding comebacks and stuff. She created the group name, fandom name, organized their debut, etc.). I think she done a lot for NJ in great faith and detail despite a lot of suspect allegations against her. BSH does not like or acknowledge them at all (thought NJ’s concept wouldn’t be interesting/plain/boring (I think?) for debut, didn’t like Attention or Hype Boy, didn’t want Danielle in the group, offered them saejaegi in terms of fake bulk album sales, really like LSF from what I could see from a clip of him with LSF (would cloud his judgment about NJ) - They were supposed to have a comeback this October and other plans but it got cancelled
Thank you bro. Idk why everyone just believes Hybe and ador when they make a statement. Corporation have zero incentive to tell the truth to the public unless they are forced to.
YT keeps deleting my comment with a link, but if you search up: "HYBE, ADOR eye legal measures as NewJeans members walk away from contracts" (it's the 1st link) It says NJ legally ended their contract with ADOR. ADOR will have to prove this in court HYBE internal audit/document reports: "We were plagued by the term New-ILL-LE for a few days, but we can just throw 'New' away and start a whole new thing."
Are you sure its from original source not someone comment you saw I wanna know where you get that isn't those internal documents are submitted to court and they released it where did you get that
@@joyeetaghosh2209 it is in the internal documents. The documents are not just comments they also have some of HYBE executives words in there. Remember they leaked on 20 pages out of 18,000. (Allegedly lol) The documents were “leaked” by the National Assembly themselves since it was just supposed to be a “weekly music report” HYBE even threatened to find the leaker but apologized when the notional assembly called them out for it. Since what they are doing is complete legal. They removed them idk why tho. (I do remember there is a reson but can’t remember what it is) But yea some executive in HYBE said that they were burdened by “new” as in newjeans since the name for the million sellers were new-I’ll-le. and said they planned to throw them away This is the quote translated: “Right now, it might be necessary to tie LE SSERAFIM to BLACKPINK, aespa, and IVE into the category of girl groups as million sellers in the first week of sales and separate them from the 4th generation. We were plagued by the term New-ILL-LE for a few days, but we can just throw “New” away and start a whole new thing.” Allegedly the new thing was supposed to be ILLIT hence why MHJ complained (this was allegedly before the audit and press conference). But idk if its true that illit was gonna replace them and I don’t wanna throw hate ILLITs way since there getting a lot already. And MHJ isn’t exactly the most trust worthy source. Also BELIFT asked for Newjeans debut plans and MHJ said pre newjeans debut during an interview in 2022 that she created a 7 year plan. So that mad sus too. Like lol can I have your homework I promise I won’t copy, just use it as an example. Like if u were a teacher would u believe that? I don’t trust BELIFT for a second but I also think that ILLIT and NEWJEANS look pretty different so idk.
@@Ugggghhhdillit and newjeans do look pretty different now but when illit first debuted, it was clear to even the general public that illit was HEAVILY inspired by nwjns bcos everyone thought illit was nwjns. (no hate to illit, just their shit company)
My main take away is that is whole situation is exhausting. I’ve been less and less willing to keep up with every update because of how long it’s been dragging on. Maybe I’d be more interested if I was a bunny, but as a casual fan it’s just overwhelming.
I don't like hybe. They give me a really bad feeling. I feel bad for New Jeans. Something isn't right to me. I'm proud of new jeans fighting for what they believe in, but I feel like there is a whole grey area in this.
I think you left out the core of this dispute which is the bad blood between BSH and MHJ which began prior to NewJeans debut. BSH thought that NewJeans wouldn’t work and wanted to sideline them and promote Leserrafim as HYBEs first girl group. MHJ didn’t comply. BSH and MHJ then became rivals especially after NewJeans huge success which BSH begrudged and that’s when the ostracism and negativity towards the girls from HYBE management escalated. He didn’t appreciate being upstaged by MHJ. Everything since then has escalated from that.
Newjeans would have debuted first if mhj came to the meetings hybe set up to see her progress and if SHE was ready to debut newjeans. She wasn’t coming to the meetings and it was getting closer to the deadline and they had lsf basically ready and so when the deadline came and they hadn’t heard anything and gfriend(rip) had disbanded, source needed income, especially after ador was made and took most of source staff, so they debuted lsf. Mhj screwed herself and has held this grudge against hybe every since, she wanted her own label with their own separate social platform, that takes time, the time that she was supposed to debut newjeans
MHJ choose the day Newjeans debuted and hybe didn’t even know This is HER word btw which I can source since she said it in a billboard interview in 2022 after NJs debut
@@AUGHHHHHBBG If you recall NewJeans had almost zero promotion before their debut. Why? Because BSH would not allow it or fund it. MHJ then went rogue and debuted them anyway. To rub salt into his ego this fiery womans group was hugely successful, outdoing LeSerrafim. The rest is history.
@@BrilenciagaBecause she isn’t actually upset. MHJ understands how to manipulate. For many manipulators if they can find one thing that makes sense it can help them with any other argument. Especially with media play. She already had people who was ready to believe her due to the accusations against illit which many fans saw make sense. Because of that she had the ability to push out anything else against hybe. She wrote a story. She is a mother of these girls she works with and a female creative in an industry with rich corps. The rich corps aka hybe is bad and anything she says after contribute to any argument people who want to support her over hybe use to justify their choice
@Ugggghhhd new jeans we used to know had such a good streaming numbers for a comeback! Mass buying will give anyone million copies where's the engagement for songs!?

As much as I love BTS..& thought Bang PD was a reasonable man.. I see him as a bad businesss man.. his EGO got the best of him. He could have talked it out w/ MHJ behind closed doors & came up w/ a reasonable decision.. instead he ripped NJ out of her control & kicked her to the curb..which forced MHJ to go nuclear publically.. now NJ will be a sad story & Hybe won’t have the huge profits NJ was slated to produce.. a loss all the way around. HYBE needs better management
Do you even know why Hybe went after MHJ? It's because they got an inside tip that MHJ and her VP were plotting to take down Hybe by launching a negative media campaign, make Ador an empty shell and take New Jeans. This plot was laid out in MHJ's own kakao chats. They did an audit, which uncovered the plot on the VP's laptop, and then they expanded the audit to include MHJ's laptop, which she refused to turn in. They already had evidence of the plot, and the confession from one of the staff that alleged embezzlement had been in progress. Hybe then made a move to fire MHJ from her CEO position (who would want someone working for them after discovering this plot?), and she filed an injunction to stop them from firing her at the next board meeting. At this point, New Jeans inserted themselves into the fiasco by filing petitions in support of MHJ, despite her scheme to destroy Hybe. There was no battle between BSH and MHJ, since he's the Chairman of Hybe global group, and she's the CEO of one small agency with one group. It's ridiculous to think this comes down to a simple vendetta, when MHJ was willing to harm the entire company and their staff.
"He could have talked it out w/ MHJ behind closed doors & came up w/ a reasonable decision" Ahmmmm, pls remind me who actually went out of their way to have a presscon again instead of "talking it out and came up with reasonable decision"?
All my respect to these brave courageous girls. Shame how they're one of the very few who are actually doing something legitimate about the toxic idol industry.
This vid so thought provoking I had to post twice lol. Thinking about it again, I can see why they chose this route. They've been so successful and made so much money with shows, writing credits, and CFs, there just isn't going to be much drive to want to change course. Selling out Tokyo Dome in year 2 and concluding "we need to go in a different direction" seems a little crazy lol.
What saccrifies the have been treaten like princesses, the got a penthouse, millions off dollars ambassador for big items all thanks to Hybe not Min hee jin, being disrespectfull to mr Bang and new Ceo off ador. Bts and txt was not treaten like this, the had to work for getting better dorms. this girls are the bullys in the company and i hope Hybe get theme to pay a lot off fines for cancel contract( that is not cancel only in there heads)
Good summary of the situation. I have 3 thoughts. 1) Hybe terminated the shareholders agreement with MHJ because they believed they had evidence that she went behind their back to usurp power. MHJ sued and the courts ruled there was not enough evidence to remove her as CEO per the agreement. Regardless, Hybe restructured and found a way to get her out 2) The court ruled against Hanni bullying because she is not considered a worker. The exclusive contract considers them equal parties to the agreement. 3) NewJeans is terminating the exclusive contract because they believe Hybe/Ador has violated due unable to fulfill the agreement The reason I bring all 3 up is because I believe NewJeans is forcing Hybe/Ador to sue them rather than the other way around. There will be a point where NewJeans will have completed all their commitments up until the day the contract was terminated. Ador will sue when NewJeans doesn’t abide by the contract after that date. NewJeans will argue that they already terminated the contract due to violations. As of today, there seem to be more evidence of Hybe/Ador disrupting the agreement and NewJeans no violations. IMO there are 2 glaring situations where Hybe/Ador did not act in the best interest of NewJeans. 1) Leaked trainee video was released which was owned by SM. You can still find those videos on TH-cam and there is no cease and desist ramifications if you uploaded. TH-cam will take down things if there are any violations and these are still up. Yet, Ador was quick to send a letter to Dolphin and those videos of Ban Hesso content were taken down. How does the company take down content of something NewJeans didn’t ask to take down, yet show no progress taking down video that they asked? Remember, per the courts the exclusive contract is considered a partnership. To me, Hybe/Ador hasn’t been keeping their end of the agreement lately while NewJeans has still been powering through all this meeting commitments.
Min Hee Jin is the reason for all of this mess. Periodt. She stole the girls from Source. Her defemation lawsuits is her fault. HYBE (company built by BTS & Bighit) IS INNOCENT. One of the best companies to work at. Members of New Jeans decision to leave Ador is short sighted after 2 years. They could have focused on their Art but their attached to MHJ & their sense of entitlement to be treated more special than other girl groups is laughable. They are not like BTS ‼️
I hope you will do a video after dispatch release. Do u still think these girls are brave to betray hybe after getting everything without having to suffer? Plz do
Omg but I've never heard about the letter before, that's crazy😅, if I picture bts/ bang pd speaking like that, skz to jyp, any of the jyp artist's to jyp actually, (trying to pick ones that seem to get along for the most😂) any group/ceo actually actually 😅 I cannot wait for those ladies to grow up and take ALL those adults around them now, to court ❤
Yes - they need to take their feeble accusations to court. I'd like to see which court would entertain unproven allegations, and complaints of someone ignoring a person, and grant that person the right to exit a legally binding contract without penalty. Can people really be this ignorant of the law?
It’s really disappointing to see so many people side with a huge corporation like Hybe against some teenagers. Reading the comments it’s obvious that many people believe the slanderous articles Hybe has been pushing about MHJ
@@mahekmittal6304 be realistic for a second. Do you think one woman against a million dollar corporation like Hybe is the REAL problem. She is just an arts director who designs Kpop groups. Hybe is the one with all the power manipulating everything behind the scenes
Thank you. I think ppl hate NJ so much that they can’t see cases like this have happened before in other counties music industries as well. Record labels are notorious scummy.
@@mahekmittal6304 I’ve done my research. Not just reading English articles but translating the Korean ones I can find to broaden my perspective. You should do the same
Watch them switch up and years later make essay videos about how "stans were the problem" and say that "knetizens was behind the hate they received at that time" lmao. At this point now I get why kpop companies takes international fans for idiots because they literally are 💀
Of course they will be loyal to her. MHJ is really the 6th member of NewJeans and has always done right by the girls, unlike HYBE whose Chairman Bang SH doesn't even respond to them when they greet him in the building or have photos with them like he has with every other HYBE group!
Done right? Can we be fr? They are loyal to MHJ because she is manipulative + Newjeans parents shown their lack at parenting skills which allowed a situation that should of been shut down since cookie and the studio incident with min heejin to keep running…
No offense but it’s pretty clear BSH doesn’t care for NJ like he does for his other groups. And that’s since the beginning. NJ is siding with her because they prob think she the lesser of two evils. Idk the full reason why but they do. Also yea NJ parents are wierd. They should have said something about cookie and those dances source music made them do. But to be fair to NJ they did stop preforming cookie all together after the backlash. (But I do agree the song shouldn’t have been made) Also there is a big minor issue in HYBE. illits English tik tak ver is very shocking. BSH calling the ENHYPHEN members sexy when they were trainees (so underage) and then now they are doing sexy concepts while Niki was underage. Same thing with Eunche and garam doing the WAP dance for their debut, remember they faced so much backlash they had to change the choreo. Same thing happened to JK and Jimin when they were underage in and had to lift there shirts up for the choreo. HYBE is a gross company (but to be fair so are a lot of other, but to me that doesn’t make it ok) Why cant all three be true MHJ is kinda wierd, BSH is kinda wierd, and NJ parents are kinda wierd
@ newjeans - 100 million KRW. (Around 77k) ADOR is 16billion (around 11 million). Illit - 150 billion KRW (around 100 million, a little higher I think) Le Sserafim - the number is unknown but it’s probably a lot since they got cheawon and sakura. But I do know that one of their youtube videos (not MV) cost 10 million KRW to make. (around 7k) EDIT: these are only initially investments for their debut
@Ugggghhhd no the real investment numbers for debut. njs- 16 billion won Lsf - just 4 billion Illit- 11 billion won It's a fact njs got the most funding. They literally have mvs for each song on their albums!
I'm sorry but every move Ador makes, every single response and communication, smacks of false cordiality to me. If they really wanted to keep NJs with them, they wouldn't have tried to pass off every intervention by them as false or wrong. Ador always pretended to be unaware of what was happening to the girls, and it feels strange to me since it's their agency. It seems that the new ador has never really taken care of the NJs.
Unfortunately the HYBE Stan’s have made it to the comments. Record labels and the entertainment industry has allways been a pr*dtory and toxic place. Why are people making passes for HYBE? Why would HYBE be different from any other record labels? Also just because someone is going through something worse doesn’t mean other who are having a less hard of a time shouldn’t be allowed to speak on there specific situation. It’s giving “what do you mean you have depression, you know there are children starving right” I don’t mean to be rude but people hoping HYBE wins (not people just not agreeing with NJ) are genuinely bootlickers.
Saying this while MHJ is a certified pedo is so weird… why would you want the girls to work with her if you have their best interests at heart? they have obv been groomed by her
@@majamatejic9235did I say anything about MHJ. Idc for MHJ but please open your eyes and realize that HYBE is no better especially with minors. And I will never trust a record label they have never and will probably never have the artist best interest in mind. Also chill out with the certified stuff it’s mad wierd to accused people of serious stuff. She is mad sus tho.
"17th July 2024 - South Korea has appointed K-pop girl group NewJeans as the country’s latest honorary ambassadors as part of its tourism drive, riding on the enduring Korean wave that has drawn many tourists to its shores." How will it look if they are punished for terminating their contract with an abusive employer?
What abuses have they suffered? Seriously? In fact, the way they've conducted themselves: disrespecting the new CEO, making unproven accusations, etc. I don't think most sponsors will want these belligerent girls as role models. They're just bad news with bad attitudes.
Whatever y'all say, I side with the idols like Jungkook, S.E.S, Bada and every other idols that are standing in support of New Jeans. I am at home typing from a phone screen. I haven't lived a tiny bit of that idol life and hence won't know what hell they must've gone through. And nor do I know what was in the "contract" that y'all are so defensive of. Y'all can keep eating your brains to defend a company that has nothing to do with you lol. All these youtube lawyers, I hope y'all face the same situation as them and no one supports you lmao.
Finally a true analysis of everything & not false information & manipulation used by Hybe stans I still can't believe people choose a label with 100+ anonymous people over artist with face, identity, soul & talent? Mariah Carey,Micheal Jackson ,Rihanna are some artist who faced mistreatment & sabotage by their labels. But newjeans story is very similar to Mariah Carey Mariah Carey left her label & was demonized & defamed By her former label.Even getting a "replacement" Jlo(Jennifer Lopez).Obviously this didn't work and Mariah Carey is now the Best selling female singer ALIVE! IN THIS TERM NEWJEANS IS THE MARIAH CAREY ILLIT IS THE JLO(JENNIFER LOPEZ)
Well that’s a quite a stretch. Using established icons to somehow elevate your narrative and align your cause to their global success seems strange. Please reconsider.
Idk what this coke rant is but boo delete this. 1. Most people aren’t even choosing hybe side. Not to mention many of y’all doing this “company vs artist” argument to say people siding with this big company over these small litttle artist… like no people don’t choose which side they are on base off power imbalances… 2. Don’t compare the situations. Let’s delete this please cus this isn’t the gag you thought it was
@@AUGHHHHHBBG lol there are not saying newjeans is Mariah Carey. They are saying that the NJ v. HYBE (featuring ILLIT) situation is really similar to the Mariah Carey v. Tommy Mottola situation (featuring Jennifer Lopez)

They sacrifice nothing. Now they just make it hard for idol to break their contract. They might be able to afford to get themselves in this mess but not other idol.
It kinda irks me that people are making newjeans the face of idol mistreatment when there are idols who have gone and are going through way worse.
Isn't there was sa case from a girlgroup
@ Yes. The group is called Madein.
Or maybe they do have smth up their sleeves that is big enough for them to make such a bold statement of terminating the contract lol.
DearYoongi, your video comes off as slightly biased and is not aging well…
“willing to stay at hybe….” yup that part exactly! this is not the fight for idol rights people are trying to spin it into.
Oh I absolutely blame all of the adults in their lives 1000% too.

Idc if I come across as a hybe stan but.... nj dug their own grave is the bottom line

Also just because you’re not like being abused that doesn’t mean that mistreatment isn’t happening (not saying that you said that)
But I do agree with the MHJ stuff.
It will take rank and file idols unionizing and getting key idols to join, much like how SAG broke down the studio system.
great addition for this vid. those that you mentioned are critical to what is currently happening rn.
The contract conditions were unacceptable according to MHJ.
Yes, because she wanted her bag, which was much more important than artistry or continuing her vision, apparently.
Idk I think there needs to be an idol union.
Mhj, the creator of them, is literally right there. And if she's not there, the former team who was fired will carry it on with their new company
I think MH is incredibly manipulative, blaming teenage girls for siding with someone that has taken care of them and been trustworthy since their trainee years is wrong;
NJ have talked about how MH talked everything out with them which is most likely rare in the industry, since they do not have that sort of support anymore it must’ve been a hard change.
They actually think they're granting aspiring future idols more lenient contracts when it'll be doing the exact opposite. Spoiled brats.
All of this started because
1.) NJ can't let go of MHJ and they were demanding to have her back (it's not only impossible, but it's also unreasonable considering the evidence HYBE has of her plans)
2.) because Hanni felt slighted that she wasn't greeted and that a manager said to a member of a group to ignore her (that's not bullying or mistreatment).
If they were sacrificing/fighting to change the industry, it's not a bright idea to
1.) stick by a woman who fired an employee who came to her after an assault that was caused by another employee.
2.) Has ped*philic interests (photos, movies and music ideas.
3. Used to do past and current INAPPROPRIATE ideas with minors (Shinee & NJ)
4.) Betraying the company that not only employed her, but also gave her money to start a label.
(those things alone should let you know that they are fighting for their own selfish interests)
I don't understand why kpop stans can't see that Idols can be bad people too (or they can be average minded people who make terrible mistakes) why is it so hard for you guys to see situations and people for what they are especially when there is evidence to support it? They are not fighting for anyone but their selfish wants. Stop trying to dig for something that is not there. The title of this video is a joke. How can people be so blind?
Louder for the people in the back please!

They sacrificed for MHJ not for the future of Kpop
You're absolutely right, this whole thing has felt like a whirlwind few months, and I don't think it's anywhere near over 🙈
Yeah, I agree she left out a lot of details. I think it’s because this video is more about MHJ and NJ’s side of the story.
it’s just sad that it seems like no adults on either sides have their (the members) best interest at heart :/
not excusing their support of mhj at all, but it’s sad to see girls/young women be taken advantage of
Stop putting them on pedestal. Yes maybe execs at Hybe are shit but they tried their best to put up with these girls. Any other company these girls will be blacklisted with huge debt. Hybe gave them way too much leniency. Their own parents don't give a shit about them

Another thought, if next year MHJ is truly found guilty of the crimes she committed, it’s going to be extremely unfortunate for NJs since they sacrificed everything for her.
I can have sympathy for them, while understanding in reality this will not end well.
Huh, what crimes??????

It's not bravery, its stupidity. Lets use words correctly. Bravery is when they go against for something actually right.
True.
It’s one thing to say a story but to say a situation, bash the company, and demand them to bring MHJ back lacks actual concern and gives very much “We said this to add to a hate train against hybe (along with illit since they still don’t realize a chunk of bunnies cannot hear anything about another idol and Newjeans if it’s negative and automatically go run to hate on illit…)”
Even outside of hanni situation it feels very weaponized. Like the letter they sent ador threatening them AGAIN sounds like they weaponize their alleged mistreatment to try to get what they want. I know y’all already gonna say I’m an anti for this but it never gave anti. My main worry is this biting them in the back cus they are acting without thinking which is becoming self sabotage both with fans and I wouldn’t be shocked if it self sabotage them in court (since their parents didn’t warn them that the things they say can be used against them so if they terminate contract the stuff like the live and press conference can bite them back)

yeah it seems like nj fans are trying to make them seem like activists for all idols but it’s not like that at all.
When they said "I quit" they terminated their contract.
If HYBE/ADOR wants to sue they can but it could be ugly.
@@scanspeak00 please please please open some books and do your homework this is embarrassing
I'm not proud of njs bc it's all about mhj. Let's bffr

They are risking their words being used against them in court
Lack of understanding on how terminations work
Claiming contract violations but lack to deep dives
Claiming more evidence of mistreatment but when asked by a reporter they lacked a response
Etc
This looks so bad for them and I’m worried cus they are making this harder for themselves
I’m really sad about all this. I’m a fan of their music. This whole situation is just wild.
We should hear ALL of these voices; not only care when it’s a current popular group that does it 🤡
If the company were to let them go without penalty, who would even want to sign them after this!!!
Mhj had to quit so that she could sue for that put option. Even though the shareholders' agreement was terminated. If she stayed with Ador and took that producer job, she would kiss that put option goodbye. But that put option goes hand in hand with the ceo position, and she now has neither.
Hybe will make an example of NWJS. They will go down as a cautionary tale.
@g2231-v2p the entire industry will support Hybe. Everyone wants their contracts honored. These girls are toast.
Just hoping it's not as bad as I'm thinking it could turn out

What is it that you think Hybe has done to them? Specifically.

I knew there was a reason I subscribed too you. You’re so kind but critical I really appreciate it. Great video
I love NJ. I’m so scared about what will happen to them. My biggest hope is that there lawyers know what there doing.
Why you are scared? They don’t even care about everyone else. Only mhj and supporting her sabotage.
(In the case of record labels that’s usually the artist)
I remember TLC saying they were broke because they were locked in a bad contract that they signed young. I remember an EXO member saying SM tried to manipulate the public’s opinion of him in a negative way to try to get him to resign. Literally DRAKE is suing his company for allegedly boosting streams for Kendrick to get him to look bad in public and resign at a lower rate (which is prob true since a lot of labels boost their artist streams, but I do think Drake is coping tho lol)
I feel like people are saying NJ is greedy for no real reason when there is literally a power and money hungry corporation right in front of you.
Lawyers are expensive, how long did they plan to fight with Hybe? Hybe can afford lawyers but what about them?
??? Girl calm down
I think it’s good they are taking a stand.
@@AUGHHHHHBBG it’s basically like they quit their job but they’re still showing up for work the next day and that doesn’t make sense.
@@ceecee8090 Temporarily for schedules already planned. They are smartly maintaining relationships with future partners.
Say hi to Min Hee Jin making french fries at McDonalds in 2025.
Nope. New jeans aren't mistreated. I can't believe that
No matter what people say about their career move, outside of that aspect I want to say that NJ did a good move to save themselves showing the path to freedom from abusive labels.
More things:
- They have said of putting NJ on hiatus for 1.5 years to search for a “Grammy award producer” (statement from the COO). Even though NJ already had great producers (250 produced Hype Boy and Ditto)
- In HYBE’s internal weekly report, they literally talk about replacing NewJeans for less competition for ILLIT and LSF (I never thought ILLIT and NJ were similar but this surprised me)
- Idk about a lot of MHJ’s actions, but she has said about already having a 7-year plan for NJ regarding comebacks and stuff. She created the group name, fandom name, organized their debut, etc.). I think she done a lot for NJ in great faith and detail despite a lot of suspect allegations against her. BSH does not like or acknowledge them at all (thought NJ’s concept wouldn’t be interesting/plain/boring (I think?) for debut, didn’t like Attention or Hype Boy, didn’t want Danielle in the group, offered them saejaegi in terms of fake bulk album sales, really like LSF from what I could see from a clip of him with LSF (would cloud his judgment about NJ)
- They were supposed to have a comeback this October and other plans but it got cancelled
ADOR will have to prove this in court
HYBE internal audit/document reports: "We were plagued by the term New-ILL-LE for a few days, but we can just throw 'New' away and start a whole new thing."
(Allegedly lol)
The documents were “leaked” by the National Assembly themselves since it was just supposed to be a “weekly music report” HYBE even threatened to find the leaker but apologized when the notional assembly called them out for it. Since what they are doing is complete legal. They removed them idk why tho. (I do remember there is a reson but can’t remember what it is)
But yea some executive in HYBE said that they were burdened by “new” as in newjeans since the name for the million sellers were new-I’ll-le. and said they planned to throw them away
This is the quote translated:
“Right now, it might be necessary to tie LE SSERAFIM to BLACKPINK, aespa, and IVE into the category of girl groups as million sellers in the first week of sales and separate them from the 4th generation. We were plagued by the term New-ILL-LE for a few days, but we can just throw “New” away and start a whole new thing.”
Allegedly the new thing was supposed to be ILLIT hence why MHJ complained (this was allegedly before the audit and press conference).

Yea I know right. I thinks it’s just because HYBE is such a huge company. And no one gets that big that fast without stepping on a lot of people.
MHJ choose the day Newjeans debuted and hybe didn’t even know
This is HER word btw which I can source since she said it in a billboard interview in 2022 after NJs debut
@@AUGHHHHHBBG so how can she be upset if she chose the day?

Regardless, Hybe restructured and found a way to get her out
2) The court ruled against Hanni bullying because she is not considered a worker. The exclusive contract considers them equal parties to the agreement.
3) NewJeans is terminating the exclusive contract because they believe Hybe/Ador has violated due unable to fulfill the agreement
The reason I bring all 3 up is because I believe NewJeans is forcing Hybe/Ador to sue them rather than the other way around.
Plz do
Completely unrelated but I love your accent

Can people really be this ignorant of the law?
ngl after hearing newjeans personal statements i can understand why they would support min heejin

Found a Min Heejin glazer. Do you also support pedophilia and SA enabling?
(But I do agree the song shouldn’t have been made)
Also there is a big minor issue in HYBE. illits English tik tak ver is very shocking. HYBE is a gross company (but to be fair so are a lot of other, but to me that doesn’t make it ok)
Why cant all three be true
MHJ is kinda wierd, BSH is kinda wierd, and NJ parents are kinda wierd
Njs got funding more than lsf and Illit combined. Bffr
@ newjeans - 100 million KRW. (Around 77k)
ADOR is 16billion (around 11 million).
Illit - 150 billion KRW (around 100 million, a little higher I think)
Le Sserafim - the number is unknown but it’s probably a lot since they got cheawon and sakura. But I do know that one of their youtube videos (not MV) cost 10 million KRW to make. (around 7k)
EDIT: these are only initially investments for their debut
@Ugggghhhd no the real investment numbers for debut.
njs- 16 billion won
Lsf - just 4 billion
Illit- 11 billion won
It's a fact njs got the most funding.
It’s giving “what do you mean you have depression, you know there are children starving right”
I don’t mean to be rude but people hoping HYBE wins (not people just not agreeing with NJ) are genuinely bootlickers.
Saying this while MHJ is a certified pedo is so weird… why would you want the girls to work with her if you have their best interests at heart? they have obv been groomed by her

I still can't believe people choose a label with 100+ anonymous people over artist with face, identity, soul & talent?
