If you're into river fishing, Brian, the St. Croix from Taylors Falls MN to Prescott WS has been stocked with muskies since the 90's. I know they've gotten some big fish out of there. Can't tell you more than that as I'm not a river rat and have never fished it. Being that it's border waters it has a different season than lakes. So check that out, you might be able to fish that before the inland lakes season opens but I'm not sure. I figure it's closer to home than PA.
The Lonesome Fisherman Just so happens I spoke with a young man about fishing the St. Croix at the Wisconsin musky expo yesterday. May have to make that happen!
Sounds like a wee bit of synchronicity to me. I hope he can give you more detailed info than I can. All I know is the fish are there and there's some big ones.
When you come for the Mn Expo you'll want to find Josh Stevenson, owner of Blue Ribbon Bait for more info on the St. Croix. According to their website they'll have a booth at the muskie expo too. I'm not saying you have to hire him as a guide, you can if you want to, but you should talk to him at least and see what info you can get. Heck, you might already know him for all I know. blueribbonbait.com/ mightymusky.com/
Another river option is the St. Louis river which is also border water between MN and WS and empties into the Duluth ship harbor and Lake Superior. They get some big muskies out of there too. I do know that the season there opens in May which is earlier than the MN inland lakes season.
Oh sweet. I live in NW PA and fish the Allegheny. The ice fishing season has totally sucked this year, but I've landed 3 muskies since January so it hasnt been without it's compensation I guess. Good to see you over here in good ol' PA.
Great video Brian, I am liking the jigging for muskies program.
Mitchell Genz Thanks bud! Glad you're enjoying it!
Is this the Allegheny River?

For more info on the St. Croix call Blue Ribbon Bait in Oakdale/St.Paul MN. The store owner guides on the river.

Great video man! Sorry the fish haven't been cooperating for you but there seems to be some action, and its only a mater of time before you get one!
Matt Vavroch Thanks man! I'm just happy to have something on film to make a vid with. I don't think I'm meant to catch muskies before May anyway 😂
@@AnglingAnarchy haha, I feel you there, lost a good one on a glider last April so I know what you mean!
Another good vid. Those fish were chunky.
