The perfect mix of old school (what makes drum corps great) and the new. Brilliantly written. The proof is in the crowd reaction. Congrats Crown. WE NEED MORE OF THIS!
My son marched the Crown 2019 show. Of course I think they were the best. I have to say though, that every single Corps that I watched from the biggest to the smallest, no matter what class, they were fantastic. The artistry, physicality, and pure love of an art form combined with competition; what isn't there to like about any of them. So very impressed and a new true fan!
What DCI oughta do is raise the volume of the crowd in their recordings. It really gives it that extra chill factor especially in moments like this. I feel like they’ve dialed back the volume of the crowd recently to make room for the Corps audio wise. Think back to mid 90s scouts when the mics would pick up the crowd more and the crowd was almost overpowering the Corps! Haha It adds more to the live experience when listening/watching recordings. Just my 2 cents ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This might be my favorite video to do with DCI period. This here is what it's all about, giving your all on the field and having the crowd return that energy.
I hate even saying this, but trust the judges. If you nit picked both shows apart LIVE, SCV had one of the hardest technical shows ever. I don't care for it but I think they were as good as Bloo, just had a tad more dirt due to difficulty. Crowns show was amazing though, one of my favorites ever musically. That ballad MMmmmm
@@brown55061 I'm curious, because I haven't analyzed Vanguard's show that in depth - what makes it one of the hardest technical shows ever? I could understand it being difficult from a spatial environment standpoint (or maybe from a more nuanced standpoint that I couldn't quite see), but Crown's show was super athletic and "balls-to-the wall," so to speak. No doubt the judges are highly qualified, but if it were me, I would've just given them the tie - they were split by a hair.
@@KiranSundarkdog97 Spatial phrasing was hard, and dealing with the latency of syncing soloists across field (like Bloo 15) is VERY hard. The horn runs and blended harmonies combined with the speed of the tongueing is near impossible to pull off consistently. Their drum book was balls to the wall and it was awarded for it. Watch a front ensemble cam and how their book overlays the brass writing - never heard anything so complex that still sounds good. Their staff's problem was they tried to do what Bloo did in 17 - take what won a ring and add 15% more difficulty across the board (bigger props, faster drill, harder music, deeper show) but they bit off more than they could chew. The top 6 were all stupid good this year so you have to trust the green polo squad because most have marched somewhere and are VERY experienced in this activity. Just my take on SCV, I still think Crown's show had the best music, even though I bleed bloo.
ive watched a lot of drum corps in the last three years, and i have to say, this is the most amazing perspective of a show ive ever seen. thanks brother, now i have the most incredible surge of motivation ever
The judges sat up there in the box and put SCV in front of this. TF. There are always a few things that happen in a DCI season that make you scratch your head. And it usually involves crown being in 4th place.
This reminds me of 2007 when Phantom got 4th when they should have been in the top 3. Unfortunately if you have noticed. Corps don't really pass each other as much anymore. There seems to be a consensus among judged before the competition of who will win. It is so apparant in the inconsistencies in the recaps. They inflated blue devil scores all summer before they were good and the bluecoats and crown got screwed. I think it should have been 1.) Bluecoats 2.) crown 3.)devils 4.) SCV
" thousands of people came to see you, you didnt come to see them, give them the atmosphere they want"

Matt Harloff is the god of inspirational speeches
Sub Bot you could’ve left out the of inspirational speeches and that would still be a correct statement
probably the best closer of 2019
No probably
Definitely best closer
Even though I'm a Crown fan, I personally loved Bluecoats closer in 2019 with this as a close second
Blue Devils said hold my beer. 19th World Title. Boom.

beautifully saiD
Crown's ending, while inside the stadium, was one of the most goosebumps riddled moments that night.
..........................................and that ballad!
This is why we need a crowd cam. This is the stuff that is the cherry on top
I would have loved to see the last 45 seconds of Bluecoats 2014 from this angle.

Erik Lindquist It seemed to start when they moved to Lucas Oil. I know it’s not the stadium’s acoustics either, I’ve been in there finals night.

@@eriklindquist6820 Totally agree. In the the tilt audio recording, the roaring crowd at the end is insane. Same with the one i have of 96 scouts
4th place in scores but #1 in my heart
AMEN!
THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD SHOW
Sheesh. can we get these ladies and gentlemen some medals.
Five years on, and STILL GOOSE BUMPS 🤜🤛
Lucas Oil hasn't lit up like that since Peyton Manning left...

Deserved the Bronze way more than SCV did.

Nothing will compare to Crown 2011-2016
What Crown is missing these days is a color guard... they do so much dancing which never scores well
Drum Corps Central yeah their guard staff went to the Crusaders and they have won the last 2 Zingallis. Coincidence, I think not.

LOVED LOVED LOVED that show... Great mix of modern and old school.
BEST. CLOSER. OF. 2019.
"bLuE cOaTs gOt RoBbEd" nah b. CROWN did. Ong
Al. xm u dropped this 👑
nah, though their best show since 2016 id say that carolina crown was placed well in 2019
A real Crown robbery was in 2015.
@@petergriffin7774 crown deserved 3rd nothing more. SCV 19 was just a worse uglier version of their 18 show

Now that’s drum corps!
Holy shots
“4th place”
Ridiculous that they didn't get the bronze. Amazing show.
Always loved views like this... LOVE seeing the crowd reaction. I wish we had a camera angle of our show in 2000 when I marched Cadets.
HOLY.

Crown never seems to disappoint
Jesus christ the chills I got watching this
I would give a limb to be able to watch their finals run at Lucas Oil again.
Insane.
CROWN
I wish there were more backfield videos! I love the sound delay, makes it seem like I’m really there!
Lost count of the number of times I've watched this clip. Coats and Crown had the best reactions from the crowd that night.
"Best Brass performance, Carolina Crown"
Chills
They may have not deserved 1st but they sure as hell didn't deserve 4th
Top ten reasons why i will never stop marching
I wish the end of this was longer.
The downbeat right at the Crown Set legit sounds like a gun shot. It was that loud
I can’t wait until the day I get to be facing this audience, not be in it
me too
People need to make more DCI ambience videos haha
A fair contender to PR 2008’s closer cheer
Nah fam, nothing will ever beat that
00:55
only problem I had with this closer is that the entire left half of the stadium did not get any love, just like what the Cadets did in 2018
My band director was in this
And they got “4th”.......

Mark Lacheta phantom getting 4th was a TRAVESTY considering the Cav’s show is now mostly a distant memory.
Mark Lacheta the recaps were all over the place so the judges ARE recognizing achievements.
those rim shots jesus.
do you still have the wgi 2019 videos? I really want to see MCM's show in good quality
Joe Carlson Had to unlist them since I was contacted by WGI to take them down lol
How is THAT fourth place? A whole year later and I'm still smelling a screwjob.
Did SCV even win any awards?
Marching Food Truck the won the Sanford for the 4th straight year.
I really don’t think Crown has gotten a crowd reaction quite like this since 2012.
2013, 2015, and 2016 all come to mind
Firm believer they should have won
maybe if it was in an earlier year
Audio settings:
bass: 80db and max reverb
3 dislikes from the Cavaliers
Crowd looks a little thin

I don't think a thin crowd would drown out a 76 person, 1st place horn line...
