Hello, dear friends! The song "Room of Mirrors" is, without a doubt, compared to the others on the album "72 SEASONS", the most difficult to play on the drums. It, alongside the songs "Lux Æterna" and 72 "Seasons", are the fastest tracks on Metallica's latest album. The choice to bring 2 or 3 faster tracks to the album, among others that are more "paced", seems to return to the Band's 4 initial albums, as already happens on the album "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct" (2016). In this sense, it is curious to remember that, despite many "The real old-school-true-headbangers" fans crying complaining about what Metallica became after exploding in worldwide popularity, Metallica was never a band that sought to produce only fast and heavy music. . Even in "Kill'em All" it is possible to identify slower elements. Like the interlude of "The Four Horseman", the main riff of "Jump In The Fire", "Anesthesia" and even "Seek and Destroy" are fairly slow tracks. Having said that, it is also worth saying that the biggest difficulty in performing the song is that it has a "faster" tempo. Furthermore, it is a song that does not require a lot of techniques, a fact that made it possible for me to feel more comfortable creating a few things in the middle of it. I bring 3 examples: 1. I added a linear rising drum fill during the riff highlight at the end of the intro. My initial idea came from the song "Creeping Death" (album version). 2. I increased elements to one of the most repetitive fills in the song, switching from the snare drum to the bass drums and locking the cymbals. 3. I paused in the middle of the song and resumed with a drum fill of my own that I love. I hope you approve the additions. Hehehe As far as the lyrics are concerned, they contribute to a look at the human condition, like the other songs on the album. These are reflections that James Hetfield makes about recognizing oneself. The album appears to be conceptual, although I've never seen the band refer to the album that way. Thus, "Room of Mirros" is about perceiving oneself in its multiple facets. The lyrics make us understand that "we are several", when we look at ourselves from different angles (like when you enter a room full of mirrors, where one mirror reveals what the other thinks about you). This points to fear of “what others might think” about your most fragile or shameful side. It's an incredible lyric!! Finally, I can't help but mention that, in my opinion, it is the song that has the best harmony between the guitars on the entire album! Be sure to consider SUBSCRIBING to the channel to receive first-hand notifications of new videos. My project is to make a playlist for each album by this band that is part of my life and that of many other people around the world. It's an ambitious goal, but I intend to take the process slowly and carry out the recordings and edits in my own time. My covers will be a mix of the studio version, the version played live by Lars Ulrich and my subjectivity. I have no commitment to be 100% faithful to the original version... nor does Lars! Hahah My Instagram is: instagram.com/leandrolandrade/ I hope you enjoy!

Heheh Where do I sign? 😅
