    A trip down memory lane. Before the 1989 model year, Bentley models shared the same single-piece rectilinear headlamps as their Rolls-Royce stablemates (except in North America where they got twin square lamps). You barely see an old Turbo R with those headlamps now as it seems most later owners opted to have the twin circular headlamps retro-fitted.

      The twin headlamps were specified by the owner.
      These cars were built to order.

      @@omegaman.1595 Actually that is not correct. The twin circular headlamps were part of the update of all Bentley vehicles for the 1989 model-year to further distinguish Bentley from Rolls-Royce.

    Check out the 1991 Hooper Rolls-Royce Emperor State Landaulette for the ultimate "Hooperisation" that took two years and toured Australian motor shows, major events and charity uses in 1993. Ended up in the Calumet Collection in California.

    Fast-forward, and the Bentley number plate is now on a KIA NIRO 4 HEV S-A.

    I love how they would refuse to do anything that was bad taste. Rolls-Royce encourages vulgarity and excess these days.

    What happened to his accent? Why did everybody speak differently back then?

      Believe it or not, it was basically a requirement of working at the BBC at the time. It's even know as the BBC or broadcast accent. Northern twangs or cockney whines were seen as too uncouth for the world's most prestigious broadcasting company. Wild-eyed, pallid -skinned paedophiles didn't seem quite so outlawed, though.

      Lots of cars had colour coded parts back in the day.
      These cars were customer specified and were all one offs.

    Horrible things, couldn't pull you out of bed, too big for the roads, and if you can afford to buy one it doesn't mean you'll be able to afford to run it, servicing costs thousands, and as for these modifications - - - what's the point?? Save yourself a decent amount of money, buy a Merc or BMW, with the money you save, buy a Ferrari (or 2)

    • @omegaman.1595
      @omegaman.1595  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You obviously don’t understand the Hooper customer base.
      These cars were specified customer order cars, each one was literally a one off.

    Yeah they made an aqua 2-door spirit was white leather interior that was absolutely gorgeous. A Silver Spirit Coupe is just what the doctor ordered if I could find that car I would buy it
