I have to say i enjoyed hearing about your struggles with Kaalia. It's nice to hear because in my experience the Kaalia player always seems to have the 4 part plan: Ramp, Haste, Big Baddies, and Protection.
Yeah the balance of your card ratios is suuuper important in Kaalia and because angel tribal doesnt have the tutoring power of the demons that you typically run in Kaalia, its very easy to dead spot with your draws. However 3 tribe Kaalia has a lot of its bases covered in creature form so it will be quite a bit stronger.
When you’re ready to leave the card value rat race behind, proxies are the answer. There’s so many good proxy makers now, and we’re basically out of reasons not to do it. Come on in, the water’s fine.

Now that we’re adults with real responsibilities and bills, and dont play for prizes, ive adopted the “im not buying new cards, either play with me or dont” mindset so that i can comfortably play with any of my friends at any power level without going broke and without being forced into the same 3 strong decks for high power.
I've got 70 decks (yes, I have a problem) and I've got those cards from either precons or packs, or they're less than a dollar a piece. These decks absolutely don't have all the staples they could, and if they were all sleeved, half the cards would have little slips of paper with words like "bayou" written on them inside the sleeves.
PJ would you ever consider a sort of mini series of walking somebody step-by-step through MTG online I downloaded it but I couldn't understand any videos describing the convoluted way about going and getting cards. Love your channel!
I did a video called "New to magic online?" I forget exactly what I covered but I think there's atleast some mention of card acquisition. That video really hasnt performed very well so I probably wouldnt do anymore. Let me know if you still have questions after watching it though.
a particularly chatty video, love it. Isshin... was printed after my playgroup basically entirely stopped buying cards, hence my Hearth & Home is one of the newest cards in the pod. Bought 2, and also bought like 4 of Jeska's will & Akroma's Will each. Those were good investments.
Yeah those were good pick ups. Sadly I didnt have much expendable cash at that time so i only got 1 or 2 copies of each. Yeah Isshin is very good. Easy to do a lot with.
Speaking of planeswalkers for this deck, Basri Ket is pretty damn good in slot. The minus ability works with Isshin (I think?) and the plus ability lets you get attack triggers without having to sacrifice any attackers. And if you happen to get the emblem, that's such a huge amount of resilience for a deck like this.
I’m actually not 100% percent sure it works. Isshin doubles triggers of permanents you control and that may be an ability you gain until the end of the turn (kinda like an emblem) that is triggered by attacking.
@@smashbros.highlights6955 yeah, seems like you're right. A delayed triggered ability doesn't count the same way. Ah well. Still reasonable in the deck if just for making dudes
You should be running Audacious Thief and Archon of Cruelty for card draw. Archon is insane! Especially with Haste. I would also run Delina Wild Mage over Laelia
audacious yes, its very good. Archon you really need to be setup for with the mana. Not that its terrible difficult but I dont feel like its needed for this build. Delina is pretty solid.
@@CommanderReplay I checked out the list. I think I'm running 8 or 9 more creatures than this list. I've never had issues making mana. There's another creature beside Lanery Storm and Goldspan Dragon that makes treasures when you attack. I forget what it's called. It's 1 generic and 1 black to play
@@CommanderReplay It is nice to pick up cards in drafts and be able to sell them for megabucks! Faerie Mastermind and Rona from the new set are good payouts right now
Speaking of buying cards cheap...long ago I had the chance to buy a Black Lotus for $200 as a guy in our group was selling his collection to buy a car. A couple decades later I still kick myself.

You triggered brah? On a side note, commander did crazy stuff with card cost, Cabal Coffers, Sensei's Divining Top, and Rhystic Study were uncommons from mid tier sets.
It could be seen as a nice action to let a boardwipe go with responses in hand if the opponent dont know it, but I would find it disrepectful if I was an opponent, you could have won, and on the time you could have filmed another game...
Oh theres times where id let it go through. It sort of depends on how stressed I am with my to do list of videos. Short games are much faster and help the catching up.
Bro I see all your gameplay videos and I enjoy them very much. But hearing you say the same opinions time and time again finds me forwarding the video until I see gameplay again. I don't know. Maybe something to think about
