Female yugioh player here: I’m sorry that you’ve had these negative experiences, but I want to add my thoughts because I believe videos like this are very detrimental to getting more girls into the game. Point 1, cheating: this is not exclusive to you being a woman, all players will try and cheat. Yes you should learn about rulings but just because all players should, not because you’ll get cheated more as a woman? If anything it benefits you, because in my experience the judges will tend to rule more in your favour…so that’s even more reason to learn rulings so that you know you aren’t cheating other people! Point 2, Harassment: I have never experienced anything like this, maybe it’s something to do with the fact that you have an Only Fans that you openly promote on your other yugioh videos?!? Of course they’re gonna be looking at your body parts cos they’ve seen them all! And of course they’re gonna fantasise, you literally dress as yugioh characters in your only fans content!!! You’re telling me if you’d seen a video of someone cosplaying eldlich with their d*** out then saw them at regionals you wouldn’t be staring at them a bit?! Also it’s funny that you talk about personal space when you made another video recently being all delighted that people at a tournament came up to you and asked for you to sign their lacrima cards etc…why do you think it was those cards specifically?! Because you dressed up as them in your OF! So it’s ok for people to come up to you when it’s related to making money off them?! Point 3, people wanting to talk to you at events??!!: What is wrong with this I don’t understand? Maybe they’re just interested to see a girl playing and just want to chat about yugioh? Are we not all there because we love yugioh and want to talk about it? Players love to help each other and give their advice, there’s nothing weird about that, I don’t understand? I’m grateful for all the help that’s given to me, you don’t have to listen to it or take it to mean something that it’s not? Point 4, Hard to find friends: firstly yes it’s hard to find other girl friends in yugioh, that’s because there’s less of us around, but guess what that’s because videos like this just reinforce the stereotypes and put girls off even more!! No wonder they don’t want to come and play. Why can’t we focus on all the positive experiences we’ve had. You’ve been playing 8 years yet you’re not talking about all the times you’ve been treated respectfully, not treated differently, had help and support and encouragement etc, which must be the vast majority of your experiences? And regarding making friends that are men and assuming they have an agenda….I’ve literally never had this issue so I don’t know what the difference is, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t be friends, if they cross a boundary just be clear and then move on? There’s creepy men everywhere in life and yes it sucks but that’s not a yugioh specific issue at all?? Point 5: Hygiene: not experienced this issue at all, the only issue is that the toilets are mixed and nobody puts the toilet seat down after they go, but I’m not gona make a big deal out of it?!
I think the main issue is that she has experienced some bad stuff (as you said, stalking and harassment DOES happen, even to men) and therefore interprets bad social skills (which is quite common in yugioh tbh) as an agenda.
Hygiene is my number one reason to not go to locals, I take good care of my cards and people touching them with their dirty hands while smelling like a toilet is something that triggers me
the cheating and the hygiene part are not really related to being a woman! as a man i very regularly have plenty of people trying to cheat me at regionals and ycs as well! people just know most people wont call a judge to not be annoying and get away with it most of the time… On the making friend part, i know it is not good but i tend to avoid interacting with women at bigger events mainly because im scared of making them uncomfortable or being accused of weird stuff (even tho im gay and have no such interest)
Usually i dont like suggesting ppl to go to gym, but yugioh players are so nerdy weird, that they need to improve their appearance hygiene and confidence. Get healthier private life, becoming less weird and simping
@@roberthaynes3245Yes, some are afraid. If you were a woman, you would likely be able to better understand why, but you shouldn't have to be a woman to note the gap in gender participation and think about why that might be the case or hear the types of concerns ShadowRabbit brings up here. The game is difficult enough to navigate without having to worry if people around you are just acting a certain way towards you because of your gender. Integrating women is a deeply-rooted problem in a lot of nerdy gaming communities. I think the idea of being in a room full of people who immerse themselves in competitive battle simulations with such zeal and tunnel vision that it's regularly to the detriment of self-care and hygiene is more off-putting to women than men to begin with as evidenced by a game like chess which also has a dramatic gender participation disparity, but the problem is made worse by the Yugioh product especially the anime/manga tending to portray women in ways that they don't want to be portrayed and that leading to awkward conversations and jokes that make the gender participation gap that much worse than something like chess that doesn't have those types of portrayals. There won't be proportionate representation of female players in Yugioh overnight but I think following gentle reminders like ShadowRabbit's to be more hygienic, treat women the same way we would treat men without staring, without commenting on their gender or appearance, without following them around, and by being available if asked as someone to test against and bounce ideas off of as you would for any other player are steps our community can take to help make it more inclusive.
So I've seen this from multiple perspectives now. My ex told me very similar stories with gaming tournaments (she played Yugioh but wasn't big into it), and I got to watch it first hand too so I at least understand the issue (as I guy I can't say I experienced it first hand so I don't fully get it, but I comprehend the problem) and I think its sad that female players/gamers can't just be apart of the community without trying to be picked up. Alternatively, from a lonely guys perspective, I get where the guys are coming from. Unless you luck out and find a lady who shares your interest at school or work, there's basically no where to meet women out in the wild where you know that you have common interests. A woman at "the bar" could be into anything, a woman dueling is into yugioh so there's a common interest, a person you can have fun with and most guys can't help but want to take that shot since it's hyper rare. Sadly its a lose/lose for everyone. Women can't just do fun stuff in the wild without fear of getting hit on which results in guys unable to find women with common interests out in the wild specifically because they're trying to avoid exactly that. It's a death spiral. I've noticed that most women who go to fun, nerdy places usually go with their BF's to prevent this kind of behavior. I know its stupid that it has to come to this, but maybe wearing a fake wedding ring or something that screams "taken" might help mitigate the issue? I dunno, I just know that as a guy, it would be nice if all women could come together (I know, I know) and kinda just come up with a "okay guys, you can try and get with us at these locations" kinda list/rule. XD Wishful thinking for sure. I hope you find a solution to this problem!
Idk about the first point , this card game is very competitive and some people are just trash bags in human form. How do you make out they are trying yo cheat on you more?
@@STEPHxCA before my locals shut down, a yugioh player during a tournament threatened to air the place out. personally i prefer to deal with a cheater. it was not an ideal threat dude was a genuine crash out.
@@STEPHxCA I thought so kinda when watching the video , but it would actually be kinda interesting to see if people try to cheat on her more because she is a woman and what the ratios are instead for a male player
YGO is such a fun card game, but the community is a really rough place. I really think that an official casual format would solve a ton of problems. Just having a less intense space where players can brew fun decks, that would give more people more ways to enjoy playing and can really expand the community of the game while also adding a good dose of positivity. Like, how many people had fun at the release of master duel? Building jank and anime decks, finding random synergies, it's so fun, but that experience just can't sustainably exist within the main broader banlist.
A casual format would absolutely NOT solve the problem all the comp players would flood into it and metagame the heck out of it I PROMISE you that is the case. Even goat a slower more friendly format is HEAVILY meta gamed and played mostly be experienced players. Any format that's actually supported by Konami (outside of the standard format this is already VERY unlikely) will be swarmed with these exact same players and the same issues will arise. The only reason master duel works/worked is because upon release a bunch of new players played and they were playing suboptimal/more fun decks and they are/were less experienced in general. And there's also ranks and such to keep players of similar skill and style of deck against one another. This is not plausible IRL
@@alecramirez542 I mean, I'm coming from magic where the most popular format by far is 4 player 100 card casual singelton. It can work, it just needs two things, a community and a defined ruleset. This isn't a big banlist or something, it has to be a new format. I think the fact that there was a large group of players at master duel launch playing suboptimal decks shows that there is a casual community, and the fact that most quit shows that the current state of the game does not support a large portion of the players that would play. Time wizard formats are just past competitive formats, it is not a comparison to something made to be casual. Aside from kitchen table games, ygo has never had that.
I hear a lot of horror stories about playing in tournaments/locals so I just haven't bothered going. I wouldn't feel comfortable being around people that are creepy and weird towards women. It sucks because I have invested what I feel like is a lot of money in having a somewhat current deck and I know I couldn't compete with other folks because this is like their main hobby and they spend way more money than I could ever dream of to have the latest greatest decks. It just sucks because I really want to play the game like with actual cards and not Master Duel/Duel Links and I don't know ANYONE who plays IRL.
I blame the simps for this and the gooners and also the people who do those stupid instagram tiktok reels that make them feel sexy because they humiliate themselves and alter our minds to think every cute or sexy girl is different, but mostly the simps because of how they fantasize about the women cards or characters of the show
That's crazy, props for speaking out. Geek communities are slowly getting better, in part because people like you dare to speak out and light the beacons! 🔥🔥
As a guy, I’m really glad you made this video so that we get an opportunity to hear what its like for all of you. I think this is especially important in this community because a majority of players are on the autism spectrum and generally have a hard time with appropriate social interactions-especially when it comes to women. Now combine that with blatant sexism and lack of exposure to the opposite gender and you get the kind of atmosphere that we typically have in the TCG scene.
I don't know about a majority of players being on the spectrum, but at least at my locals, there is a very significant amount who are actually diagnosed with ASD that come from a group home. You're absolutely correct about them not understanding boundaries or appropriate communication. I am a psychotherapist, and I see quite a bit of behaviors from Yugioh players in general that are indicative of symptoms of mental illness. If you combine this with people who are poorly socialized due to lack of exposure to others in general, let alone females, you get a recipe for these kinds of issues coming up. I think shops monitoring these behaviors better is one avenue to remedying this. Also, those of us who are well socialized can lovingly admonish offenders about their behaviors if a woman isn't comfortable doing it herself. It's tempting to just write off many of these offenders, but I think our posture should be one of trying to help them become better socialized so that we can have a healthier community. If they are resistant to change, then the shop owners can get involved.
@@DemisedDill stop making things up, most of ygo players are decent people, there can be bad expiriences or things which are straight up criminal like in other communities. Its like saying to your whole city "hey dont do evil things" duh? because 2 people steal, all are thiefs now, thats the lvl of agenda videos like this represent. To all ygo tournaments or locals i have been, there never have been much of problems besides maybe the cheating part, and sometimes that even happens not knowingly because ygo is a complicated game, and for sure doesnt only happen to women.
I was gonna talk about how this reminded me of stuff I've experienced with big events as a woman in yugioh, but instead my word these replies have gotta be point number 6. There's victim blaming, there's people both sides-ing it, and there's outright deflection - it's exactly this kind of flippant disregard for pushback from some guys that leads to this kind of stuff in the first place. I really hope it does get better, and (in my area at least) I do think it's better than it was, but there's still women friends I have who no longer come to locals because the people make them uncomfortable. It sucks! It's not sustainable or fair.
I've played Yugioh, Magic and Pokemon, hygiene just isn't something many players are bothered about, i have no idea why but i started to carry aftershave with me in my bag and spray it before rounds if i could smell the other player, and let's not forget the awkward hand shake from a player with sweaty hands ...
I'm getting back into yugioh myself and my girlfriend was interested in it. We play unchanged structure decks together alot of fun. When I went to a locals for giggles and to get a lay of the current meta landscape and how to deal with it. She came to visit me after she got off work and almost all the players stared at her at first when she sat next to me gave a boba and a hug i got glares the rest of the local event.
@@nexus8383I’ve had this happen as well. My ex brought me some snacks and a drink. I got glared at like I broke some house rule or something. Was really weird lol
@@Shadowbot074 it's very strange she wants to play more but won't go locals without me and honestly I don't really want her to have to deal with the weirdos alone.
I love your yugioh content you are awesome and I completely agree with what you're saying and I will never tolerate any form of toxicity, bad hygiene, and gatekeeping/unwelcoming behavior and the bad apples should absolutely be held accountable at all times. But with all due respect you not only have a very easy to find link to your OF in the description of every single video and have your naked body completely free on the internet for anyone to see. Anyone who recognizes you at events with even an ounce of self-respect (NOT the people you are describing in this video) are absolutely going to look at you differently and maybe even be a bit avoidant or unintentionally unpolite. You run a completely normal youtube channel about the game and your other side is absolutely not hidden or hard to get to at all and I promise you the biggest audience for your alternative content are the exact kind of people you complain about here because they lack social life and friends and take their miserable attitude and bad habits on the people around them. This includes porn addiction. You have to be at least a little bit self-aware I think. Much love
@@poiuytrew8116 Pretty much. There's a non-zero percentage of weirdos who pay her to dress up as Sky Striker Raye and take a Magician's Rod up the Dark Hole that are also the weirdos who go to live Yu-Gi-Oh events.
As a country community manager and my own local manager, I can confidently say that my players respect each other, regardless of whether they identify as male, female, trans, or anything else. This respect is evident in the continued growth of our female players at regionals and locals. I believe your main issue, beyond being a TH-cam content creator (which naturally draws attention), is your more "colorful" content. While it’s possible that some players act toward you the way they do simply because you’re a woman who plays Yu-Gi-Oh, I’m fairly certain it’s because, if they’ve come across your content, they’ve already seen you naked-and likely more than that. Once you choose to create such content, there are bound to be consequences. That being said, no one has the right to touch you or offend you. However, it’s important to take those consequences into account when deciding to produce such content.
Why should there be "consequences" for a line of work that isn't harming anyone? Harassment is never okay, never to be tolerated as something "bound to happen", and given your position it's your responsibility to maintain a safe environment for your players that is free from harassment.
@Dylligraphy I get your point but if you're doing a job that exposes yourself and it also being linked on multiple platforms you should definitely expect to be stared at ik it's not right but still nothing you can do about it
@@Dylligraphyboth things can be true. It's terrible that she's being harrassed. But unfortunately, if what the original poster said is true, then she naturally invites the people she placated to. That's why the line of work isn't good for either party and yes it is harmful if this is the result. And I don't think the original poster is saying it's tolerated because it's "bound to happen" but her line of work definitely exacerbates it and isn't helping. Those guys are defo creeps and should be dealt with harshly, but she's not helping her sitch, if she's making content for the same randos to oggle. It's a viscous feedback loop she can't just turn off the computer as if it won't bleed into her normal life. TL;DR it's F'd up that it's happening and shouldn't happen but her line of work isn't helping.
I went to locals with my wife one night, we were having our valentines day late because we both had to work, anyway, when she went off on her own, the guys were like "girl!!! What do we do?"
Hi, I'm a Brazilian player, and I'm just getting to know your channel now. I'd like to make an observation. I believe that a large part of men who approach women negatively in locals have no idea they are being bothersome. Seriously, for single men, it's really hard not to imagine women like you as a potential girlfriend. Besides your appearance and good manners, you enjoy the same game, and to play Yu-Gi-Oh these days, you really have to love this card game a lot haha. You might not realize it, but you're the "dream woman" for many guys who probably have barely spoken to other women in their lives and they think they'll never have a chance to approach a woman like that again in their life, acting without thinking. I think that, given your position, it might help to try to see the situation from a different perspective. These "different" approaches only prove that, in some way, you're a very attractive woman for some dudes. This, of course, excludes cases of "SA", lack of hygiene or manners, and those who try at all costs to push the Fur Hire agenda forward.
Yes. Single men are often told to meet women through hobbies. When they finally see one they think this is their chance. She has the right to have boundaries, but it's depressing that men get demonized for such a basic thing as talking to a woman (obv they shouldn't be touching her or anything). No one tries to be "weird" on purpose.
I agree wat u said in this video. Sadly I have only 1 friend whom plays Yugioh in my inner circle. I too am female Yugioh player myself..(I have a sibling whom plays yugioh, for now just collecting or building decks like i do). It’s really hard to fit in a community where the fun n making friends plus having a great time etc when everything isn’t all simple as it seems but sometimes it takes time until then. Also i wish i had tons of friends to play Yugioh or Master Duel especially female’s to hangout, enjoy life as it is n more. Ik it’s not easy when a dude (or dudes) tries something even if a lady duelist is married or single in a way n make em’ get uncomfortable of the situation which is a bummer. I rather ignore the harassment n bs, n just play the game. But if it gets to far; i just report it otherwise there in for a rude awakening. Anywayz, i hope u make some new friends in 2025 n be safe on ur Yugioh journey to be the best.
even as a guy, the hygiene part really bothers me. It's honestly distracting sometimes when someone you're playing or someone next to you at a table reeks.
Good albeit depressing video, I tried bringing my girlfriend to locals since she wanted to play and I practically couldn’t leave her unattended because the creepiest most x-4 at locals ass dudes would be coming up to try and teach her how to play or say creepy shit like “don’t wear cat ears around me or you’ll release my inner most demonic desirable desires” (wtf?) Just awful but I’m sure things will improve over time and videos like this should give people something to reflect on if they realise they’re the problem. Glad you still have fun with the game despite this!
I'll be honest the stuff you described in this video happens to guys in the community too , i don't think it was solely because you are a woman. You are also a content creator so it will be natural for some of your fans to follow you around and not understand certain boundaries.
She also 0f milker. When she does what she does in country that never went through xx revolution like america did it only natural she gonna attract creeps. It ain't cool but it also aint strange.
Women in unfamiliar male dominated environments is... rough. In Japan they have the Princess Cup for that reason I suppose, but in the case of the West I don't think there is an actual solution. The nature of Yugioh attracts socially inept hyperfocused people, and being weird is the nature of these men. I am Brazilian and I do have experiences in Europe, but not enough to have a good sample of the European scene in this regard. Either way Brazilian woman are more bossy, so this type of case is less frequent as we do see woman in locals, though not necessarily playing the game. Woman need to have a masculine atitude in setting boundaries to deal with this, that's the only thing that actually scares and turns men off, I don't see other possibility.
I also tried calling a judge on an opponent for slow play and he unprompted said "the only reason why we let you get away with this is because you're pretty". Then someone else made fun of him and said "he likes the ugly girl".
Thank you for the informative video! These videos are great to have because it helps the open minded members actually look for issues in our local ygo communities. We had an issue recently where we uploaded 2 different Edison duels on our channel, one with 2 guys and one with 2 female duelists. In the guy duel there were misplays, bad phase declarations and at one point a player forgot to draw for turn. But somehow the duel with 2 women got comments about misplays and deckbuilding!?! Which is insane cuz how is proccing a gorz a misplay when u can't know its in your opponents hand?
I hate that I'm playing alone too. I love showing people my deck list and play testing without them being like "you really shouldn't play this card", it just makes me want to play it and top with it more to prove that they are wrong. I just want people that are kind and actually help analyze ways to improve my consistency or give me techs to try out. But I'm alone and so I have to just play infinitely on a simulator to figure out what works. I want Yu-Gi-Oh friends.
In my Opinion its a huge problem. She complaining about people starring at her (which is not ok, I get it), but on the other side, maybe some old creepy men jerking of on her onlyfan stuff and she is ok with that?
This is the first video I've encountered of yours, but I'm glad to see all the women sharing their experiences as of late. The community needs to do more to create safe, inclusive (and hygenic) spaces.
the cheating one is soooo real because what is it that makes u think ur so much better at the game than me ? are we not on the same table for a reason??? LMAO
I'm sorry for you, but a lot of that guys, don't are used to have women around or have any contact to women. So they'll be creepy around you. They have to make experience with women. And to the gentleman in the comments, don't call some lonely nerds, that don't have a social life like you 🐒, thanks.
For the friends thing what helped me was bonding with others in the Yughioh around interests outside Yughioh. Not just anime and games either. Like I started going to gym with one of my friends from locals. I think it’s good when people don’t just associate you with Yughioh. I think it creates a “work friend” issue it’s just Yughioh. I mean you’ve likely tried and issue you mentioned with men trying to be more to than friends probably does fuck that up. But this could be helpful for anybody.
I had one guy at my locals try to heckle me my first time. When I fought back like a guy would he then changed his attitude towards me the next time I came in. Us women shouldn't have to do that...
So, in defense of the weird guys. I totally understand how all that unwanted attention can make you uncomfortable, but to many of these young guys meeting an attractive girl that shares their hobby is like meeting a unicorn. From their perspective how can you expect them to not be interested in you? And it's not entirely fair to expect them to just bottle up these feelings and do absolutely nothing even though they have low social skills. That being said there absolutely is a massive amount of male players who need to be taught basic social skills in order to make sure our female players can be safe and comfortable. I would love to see someone make a video targeted towards them with basic tips on how to behave socially at the game store 😂
"basic tips on how to behave socially" - that would great as long as they give useful advice and not just condescending stuff like telling guys to shower and not to stare.
To be blunt: some people in YGO are (for lack of better word) dense . Most of these people are male who didnt get experience or guidance in their life about: how to be "man" or "nice" or how to be "a being with understanding of common social rules". For some reason YGO is a structure that invites such people. It is not fair that such people cause porblems within that community (and for female audience). I dont know how to fix this promblem, but I sincerely hope that YGO community would be a place for EVERYONE. On one side this isnt just pure men are evil issue, BUT it is not fair that female audience should be experiencing fear because of possibility and reality about such events.
Girls. The last point is not just bad for you. xD Overall I dont try to defend anyone but sometimes its just a weird person you play against. Like all of their opponents will say it was uncomfortable to play against them. But if it crosses lines you have to tell them or even to a judge! Its hard to change it completely but I think every guy that knows how to talk normal, takes a shower and wears fresh clothes can only try to be a good example...
This is what I think is the biggest failing of the TCG community, Because it has absolutely nothing to do with the company, they have literally zero influence on this issue It has everything to do with the community, and it's such a widespread issue
I got back into Yugioh lately. I've seen behaviour like this in work, the gym or other social clubs. I'm sorry you had to put up with it, and hope it gets better
It’s so backwards to me in my opinion.. they must really suck at dueling and need every advantage possible it’s pathetic they try to do shady moves or cheat just because you are a woman
I was agreeing with you up to the hygiene part. Yes people period should be clean and care for themselves but they shouldn’t have to clean themselves for an event if they don’t want to. People at the end of the day should be accepted for who they are and they shouldn’t have to change if they don’t want to. Yes make them aware of the benefits of being clean but at the end of the day they are individuals with their own tendencies.
If it was regular bo that'd be understandable and I'd agree with you. In TCG circuits though there's a looong standing strategy of gaining advantage by smelling so bad that opps quit or are off their game with a bellyache. People have done it since beta Magic tourneys because it works. You'll place noticeably higher if you absolutely reek.
honestly some of this isn't even women specific but im sure it is worse for women the behavior ive seen from yugioh players is appalling sometimes to the point i don't really become friends with other yugioh players anymore. i LOVE the game but i meet other yugioh players now and my first response is "okay what's wrong with you what's your defect" ?? maybe its just me but ive met so many damn weird people through yugioh
I remembered this one guy opp I had that came in late- and the funk sat down a few seconds behind him. He had the long fingernails that cut my deck with dirt underneath them and whenever he’d take a second to think he’d chew his fingernails. I threw the game
@@imalwaysbluffing most of ygo players are decent guys, there will be always weirdos in communities. And i am sorry but a onlyfans girl is not the most qualified to talk about this, you present yourself naked for less than some of those cards are worth. The whole community doesnt need to change, just report the guys that do weird shit or if they make you uncomfortable speak up. And i dont mean the SH/SA part with it because there isn't much to add there, its just horrible, doesnt matter where.
@@Eru_3ru You are literally now one of those guys who isn't decent and chose to be weird about someone else's line of work. Congratulations. Do better.
my problem with the local community that I have experience is as someone who's considerably new into the community, I didn't really feel welcomed somehow and they would prefer to communicate between their peers. I understand at that time I was just a strangers and I didn't expect anything special but then again the atmosphere that I get is not really welcoming even if I tried befriended some of them.
First off, great set up! Next, I feel like yugioh creates a toxic space. Idk what it is, but the players can be some of the worst at my local game store. There was a while where I went to EVERY night at my lgs, and yugioh was the only "boys club". Not a single girl. Lorcana had the most girls. One piece, Pokémon, and magic, commander specifically, all had a sprinkle. That said, in magic, I have seen some "backseat" gaming in comander pods. Say a girl is in the pod, one guy in the pod will basically play their turn out for them. It's annoying to see, especially when the girl looks like she knows what she's doing and didn't ask for the help.
The community is a major reason I no longer play paper and quit the game. The behavior and the bravado of Yugioh players in 2014 was awful. And the culture around the game made me a worse person.
Trust me not being able to go locals and therefore not wasting your money on those cards is wayy better. Just play it online unless you are competitive and aim to win tournaments or something. I tried to get back to game and its unplayable due to longass texts, handtraps etc. Now when you somehow broke a really hard board with loads of negates those new decks trigger effects from gy recycle stuff and win anyway. This video probably recommended to me because I looked new cards for a while. Game is trash
This kinda sucks, I'm sorry to hear this. My wife has these kinds of experiences in general life she has told me about multiple times. She doesn't play any TCGs. And yes OMG Yugioh players that stink make the whole damn place stink.
The differences between a property that has customers, and a culture that may or may not have been formed around it. Can't get any new players but how are the people who step up treated?
I don't think people hitting on people just cause they like the same thing is bad but if the person is not giving you sings or just doesn't interact with you that means you need to stop cause ive seen some people think being pushi gets them the girl
Thank you for sharing and your vulnerability! This is an incredibly important issue that unfortunately goes unchecked because well, men. I hope people watch this and are able to understand your POV and take it into consideration moving forward.
Storytime! Have you encountered this…er, odd fellow on here?: I saw him in the comments of Diana Mejia and Dmc (they’ve both played/play YuGiOh MD) asking “are you single?” Followed by no response. He eventually posted a vid about how the women who don’t reply to him ain’t shit, or something along those lines. He don’t even play the game, is just the embodiment of a stereotypical incel.
This is like a drug dealer complaining about junkies. Sexual harassment is wrong of course, I’m sorry you deal with that, but dude… you accept money from these same weirdos for homemade porn…
@Joseph05-p1hno, I said that because it’s very immature and not very well thought out. It’s a useless comment that doesn’t mean anything, something you’d expect from a child or a rude person.
@ShadowRabbitYGO Hopefully none of this stuff makes you stop playing YGO and making content, your videos are good. The YGO community I think struggles socially in general, but recently at a small tournament at a convention my wife was somewhat uncomfortable because a lot of the guys there just didnt know how to handle a woman being in the vicinity. I think some of these problems encompass the YGO scene as a whole but for sure theyre amplified if youre a female player too sadly
As a gay man who plays tcg, I have been harassed by other fellow ygo players. They make snide comments and laugh at me. I mean, being a fem fab queer, it sucks to see how there are so many homophobes around. I can deel the repulsion for being gay..... BUT there are some friendlies in the batch. Some folks are friendly and simply don't care if I am gay.
I haven't experienced these things at locals, but the community is so small that the guys probably don't want to cause drama. I've had problems with people using the right pronouns for me though.
As a woman, I have had to switch from the TCG to Master Duel due to creepy men smelling my hair and trying to hit on me, as well as extremely violent misogyny and rape threats. I prefer not to interact with my opponents anymore.
Very sorry to hear this happened. The community is much better off with you in it than anyone who'd make such threats and I hope they are held accountable, banned and jailed. If ever you go back I hope things go a lot better and in the mean time keep crushing it on MD.
I hate those type of guys they have lady duelists scared to ask for help with their decks/strategies then they get harassed and don't come back it's just a horrible feeling being the head of your locals and having lady duelists come to you complaining about those guys I have a strong dislike for dirty people as a man that hears the things you talking about it feels horrible and to think that most lady duelists have to go through this and it's worse when half of your locals are older married men that should already know how to act n carry themselves
Definitely appreciate you making this video. I've noticed plenty of creepy comments in your posts and videos and it always feels like exactly the type of thing that discourages many women from joining or staying in this community. New set-up looks great btw!
People dont do shady stuff in game just because you re a women jesus, they do it to everyone in every game... it's up to you to pay attention or just not be a complete dumbass. If one would really be that oblivious or bad at rulings, they shouldnt go to a big event in the first place, just stick to locals, learn and have fun.
I think she's trying to say it happens more because some men are misogynistic and believe women are stupid, hence are more likely to cheat. which is an unfortunate reality and will be the case
Well yugioh players, dont talk with womens and ignore them, or be the reason they wanna talk about you on a video. And maybe you can go more far and dont watch videos of yugi girls tubers, dont be a simp, this apply in everything not only yugioh.
Congratulations for being born a human . I don't see any reason to construct a mind set on male or females in a card game. No disrespect all love honestly
I've been teaching my neice yugioh and she's expressed interest in going to events. She went to MTG events and had fun, but I'm cautious to take her to anything yugioh related due to all the irl traptrix players if you know what I mean. Lotta creeps play this game. It's really unfortunate.
My wife won't come to locals because it smells bad.
Lmao
Based wife
Me and my wife visited a local shop for the first time and she complained the air was really bad in there LOL
I don’t blame her. Lol
Not just in YGO but all the other TCGs as well (Vanguard, Magic, etc.) I don't even know how these TCG players can read but cannot take showers.
@@ddiskanxkz4484 Finally a real perspective, thank you.
@@Eru_3ru Exactly.
Go read a book man
Hygiene is my number one reason to not go to locals, I take good care of my cards and people touching them with their dirty hands while smelling like a toilet is something that triggers me
Tbf a clean toilet smells better than those mfs
the cheating and the hygiene part are not really related to being a woman! as a man i very regularly have plenty of people trying to cheat me at regionals and ycs as well! people just know most people wont call a judge to not be annoying and get away with it most of the time…
On the making friend part, i know it is not good but i tend to avoid interacting with women at bigger events mainly because im scared of making them uncomfortable or being accused of weird stuff (even tho im gay and have no such interest)
This is why we need to eliminate simping
@@andreakatz6109 Yes
Usually i dont like suggesting ppl to go to gym, but yugioh players are so nerdy weird, that they need to improve their appearance hygiene and confidence. Get healthier private life, becoming less weird and simping
This video breaks my heart.
Everyone should be welcomed in card games
First point happens to everyone, get over yourself
yeah i have a couple non-guy friends who play Yugioh and they're legit afraid to go to locals
Afraid? Lol ok
@@roberthaynes3245why is that funny to you?
U mean girls?
The fuck is a non-guy, it's either male or female
So people coming up to talk to you about yugioh at a yugioh event counts as stalking?
Oddly enough, I see more women playing Master Duel on here and TikTok than going to locals.
Idk about the first point , this card game is very competitive and some people are just trash bags in human form. How do you make out they are trying yo cheat on you more?
yeah the cheating is an everybody thing.
Yeah, I think it’s more of an anecdotal thing for her, which sucks to deal with on a personal level.
@@GhostofCerberus I guess he aired out the room anyways then xD
I will disagree with you on your first take a cheater is always a cheater they do not try to gaslight you because you are a woman
@@BossMonster17 does autism have something to do when they can't even shower before going to locals?
Play pokemon instead. A lot of girlies play pokemon tcg.
@Navue-cn2tx I don't want to play Pokémon TCG. I like Yu-Gi-Oh
I've played Yugioh, Magic and Pokemon, hygiene just isn't something many players are bothered about, i have no idea why but i started to carry aftershave with me in my bag and spray it before rounds if i could smell the other player, and let's not forget the awkward hand shake from a player with sweaty hands ...

and I completely agree with what you're saying and I will never tolerate any form of toxicity, bad hygiene, and gatekeeping/unwelcoming behavior and the bad apples should absolutely be held accountable at all times.
You run a completely normal youtube channel about the game and your other side is absolutely not hidden or hard to get to at all
and I promise you the biggest audience for your alternative content are the exact kind of people you complain about here because they lack social life and friends and take their miserable attitude and bad habits on the people around them. This includes porn addiction. You have to be at least a little bit self-aware I think.

Even us women disrespect other women with OF. It's disgusting.
You're completely right
@Dylligraphy I get your point but if you're doing a job that exposes yourself and it also being linked on multiple platforms you should definitely expect to be stared at ik it's not right but still nothing you can do about it
This.
No one tries to be "weird" on purpose.
assuming Yugioh players care about sex when it comes to cheating is actually entertaining, they cheat when practicing their own combos
Good albeit depressing video, I tried bringing my girlfriend to locals since she wanted to play and I practically couldn’t leave her unattended because the creepiest most x-4 at locals ass dudes would be coming up to try and teach her how to play or say creepy shit like “don’t wear cat ears around me or you’ll release my inner most demonic desirable desires” (wtf?)
Just awful but I’m sure things will improve over time and videos like this should give people something to reflect on if they realise they’re the problem.
I have seen people at our locals behaving like this when woman were there. And i totally understand why we have never seen them again.
I also tried calling a judge on an opponent for slow play and he unprompted said "the only reason why we let you get away with this is because you're pretty". Then someone else made fun of him and said "he likes the ugly girl".
I can't describe how sad that just made me. I'm sorry you went through that
IRL Call of Duty lobbies aren't for the faint of heart.
I'm not sure if the 1st one is because you are a woman. I've been cheated on multiple times myself lol.
What does it matter that she has OF? Ur not supposed to act like monkes regardless.
Women aren't supposed to act like monkeys either. No one respects people who get naked for money.

In my Opinion its a huge problem. She complaining about people starring at her (which is not ok, I get it), but on the other side, maybe some old creepy men jerking of on her onlyfan stuff and she is ok with that?
OF is monke behaviour
It comes off as extremely hypocritical.
As a woman, agreed so much, preach queen !
LMAO
I have faced cheating even in casual, non tournament games. If I catch it right away, the game's over.
Us women shouldn't have to do that...
your pinned on twitter should explain everything
Girls. The last point is not just bad for you. xD
Overall I dont try to defend anyone but sometimes its just a weird person you play against. Like all of their opponents will say it was uncomfortable to play against them. But if it crosses lines you have to tell them or even to a judge!
Its hard to change it completely but I think every guy that knows how to talk normal, takes a shower and wears fresh clothes can only try to be a good example...
Good video and topics! Beautiful set up! Can't wait to see the final set up!
This is what I think is the biggest failing of the TCG community,
Because it has absolutely nothing to do with the company, they have literally zero influence on this issue
It has everything to do with the community, and it's such a widespread issue
I never would have thought about the cheating part.
very important things you‘ve said. Most shockingly the most aspects affect men as well …
Hot take, welcome to being a woman in general, guys are weird!
4th topic made me sad. I'd be so bummed if I couldn't find a group of friends who really wanted to play test and get better at the game
honestly some of this isn't even women specific but im sure it is worse for women the behavior ive seen from yugioh players is appalling sometimes to the point i don't really become friends with other yugioh players anymore. i LOVE the game but i meet other yugioh players now and my first response is "okay what's wrong with you what's your defect" ?? maybe its just me but ive met so many damn weird people through yugioh
I agree people make sure you smell decent at least because everyone would appreciate it
I remembered this one guy opp I had that came in late- and the funk sat down a few seconds behind him. He had the long fingernails that cut my deck with dirt underneath them and whenever he’d take a second to think he’d chew his fingernails. I threw the game
Come on boys, pull your pants up and BE NORMAL
Thats reverse of what she does tho ;)
@@imalwaysbluffing most of ygo players are decent guys, there will be always weirdos in communities. And i am sorry but a onlyfans girl is not the most qualified to talk about this, you present yourself naked for less than some of those cards are worth. The whole community doesnt need to change, just report the guys that do weird shit or if they make you uncomfortable speak up. And i dont mean the SH/SA part with it because there isn't much to add there, its just horrible, doesnt matter where.
Lol 😂you don't know yugioh players and she doesn't make easy for herself because she does only fan
@@Eru_3ru You are literally now one of those guys who isn't decent and chose to be weird about someone else's line of work. Congratulations. Do better.
@@emonychan you are right about one thing, i dont respect that line of work. If you think i am a weirdo for that, good for you, i do not care.
It's very sad to think that people are treating female players like that. What country are you located?
"What country are you located?" pretty sure she considers personal questions like that creepy, lol.
my problem with the local community that I have experience is as someone who's considerably new into the community, I didn't really feel welcomed somehow and they would prefer to communicate between their peers. I understand at that time I was just a strangers and I didn't expect anything special but then again the atmosphere that I get is not really welcoming even if I tried befriended some of them.
Please guys be cleaner
Jaw dropped hearing about some of these but I can definitely sympathetise, especially as you are a public figure in the community
If the nerds knew how to talk to woman they wouldn’t be playing a tcg.
Never got the chance to be at a local, but the 'bad smelling' meme is not doing the players any good
Thanks for putting this out there.
Men in the TCG communities need to do better when it comes to women, ACT LIKE YOU BEEN HERE BEFORE
This kinda sucks, I'm sorry to hear this. My wife has these kinds of experiences in general life she has told me about multiple times. She doesn't play any TCGs. And yes OMG Yugioh players that stink make the whole damn place stink.
She's actually qualified to talk about this, unlike a certain someone.
i see what you did there.
lmfao
Someone who actually has a right to complain about men in the women's room at events lmao
morons above me want to force jess to be in the men's bathroom lmao. wtf is wrong with them and why do they want that
@@VaePomegGlitch because decent men actually care about real woman getting abused by perverted gremilins
I just ignore girls completely, not the best solution, but better than what you mentioned... -.-
The differences between a property that has customers, and a culture that may or may not have been formed around it.
I wanted to speak but I've never seen a woman in a tournament so I don't know what to say.
Basicly you can win the entire locals with: JUDGE!!!!!! BAD Hygiene !!!
That will teach em !
but honestly yea Yugioh players are a one of a kind species.
This is like a drug dealer complaining about junkies. Sexual harassment is wrong of course, I’m sorry you deal with that, but dude… you accept money from these same weirdos for homemade porn…
This is not right in any way whatsoever. Very poorly said.
why u say its poorly said cuz u know its all true
@Joseph05-p1hno, I said that because it’s very immature and not very well thought out. It’s a useless comment that doesn’t mean anything, something you’d expect from a child or a rude person.
-"Sexual harassment is wrong of course"
-Proceeds to defend sexual harassment by victim blaming and ignoring how consent works
Wouldn't it be funny if the same weirdos being talked about have actually purchased one of those videos?
Lustful Thoughts come from those looks you referred to. I pray we stop that in general
I play Magic with my girlfriend sometimes, unfortunately she doesn't like Yugi very much 😢
PS Magic players are less creepy for me
I’m lucky enough to be around 3 different locals. I went to all of them and found the one with the least… issues lol.
Consider the majority of the type of men that play tcgs I see why this happens to women and I hate it does.
I've had problems with people using the right pronouns for me though.
arent you a of creator?
@ right she advertises herself yet gets mad when people approach her. She just wants attention
As a woman, I have had to switch from the TCG to Master Duel due to creepy men smelling my hair and trying to hit on me, as well as extremely violent misogyny and rape threats. I prefer not to interact with my opponents anymore.
XD
@aquaticstreem425 why is this funny to you?
Very sorry to hear this happened. The community is much better off with you in it than anyone who'd make such threats and I hope they are held accountable, banned and jailed. If ever you go back I hope things go a lot better and in the mean time keep crushing it on MD.
@@kerryannegarnick1846 kinda
@@aquaticstreem425 why?
And maybe you can go more far and dont watch videos of yugi girls tubers, dont be a simp, this apply in everything not only yugioh.
i go to locals 2-4 days a week... we dont have any women that play
