Nice car! Though I wouldn't call it a Sand Rail, maybe old school Sand Rail inspired! Either way nicely done!, no dead tubes on the chassis. I personally would have added floating fenders all the way around and made the top rails from front to back and a B pillar behind the seats for extra safety measure.

What did you register it as in Texas? Registration office told me they can not register a dune buggy or sand rail in texas. any info would help. thanks.

Hell, theres sand rails out there that sit lower than this thing does, they drag race them. Just because someone builds something that doesnt meet your specifications, doesnt mean that its immediately declared 'not a sandrail'.
Ok this thing is cool... but I would never want too drive this thing I want something sorta quiet so I can enjoy my surroundings I don’t want too listen too this loud thing the whole time I’m driving and it scares all the nature so really this thing is only meant for speed so what kind of other enjoyment do you get out of it besides pleasing children
Hurtin Albertans in Texas this vehicle is no longer street legal. He claims he registered it as a custom......they aren't doing that anymore. Also all VW based builds have it be a true sand rail or dune buggy are also not able to be registered. Once all registrations expire the vehicle is useless. I had one and sold it once I learned of this
It’s sad because even though it’s super dope, it was basically built as a lawn ornament. With that setup it’d be virtually impossible to do any off-roading.😞
You really made this in Automatic? What a shame!!!!! That ruins the entire rig. If it was a 4-5 speed manual with a traditional clutch then it would be a real mans build.
nice very nice get rid of that 4160e trany gear spacing sucks 1to2nd 2004r is better gearing or 4l80e or a w58 r151 toyota with advanced adapters bell 5speed
